Just like the slaves, we have to educate ourselves.
Black Indians United Legal Defense and Education Fund Thanksgiving Day Message This may be the most important message to so-called African Americans and Black Indians in 2007 Halito Family and Friends! I am Angela Finley Molette (Tuscaloosa Ohoyo) Black Warrior Woman Little doubt remains that people will be gathering together on the date that Euro-Americans call "Thanksgiving", in remembrance of all they are thankful for. I ask that you dedicate at least a portion of this day to being thankful for all that we have learned in recent years about our Ancestors, and to learning, acknowledging, discussing, conversating and making peace with the fact that a rather large percentage of the Aboriginal First People of the Americas were Ethnic Black Indians affected by Foreign Invasion, the Trail of Tears, Indian Removal, as well as impacted by the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and the Black Holocaust. I am thankful for what I have been able to uncover of the Black Indian Holocaust and First Terrorist Acts committed in the Americas upon its Aboriginals, our Ancestors. In the West the Ancient Ones, Autochthonic Indigenous Black Natives (Austronesian or Australo-African in Ancestry) resided historically from Lagoa Santa, Brazil (10,000+ miles south of the Bering Strait and produced older bones than Bering Strait arrivals), the Mexican Mainland, Loreto, Mexico, Baja, California, to La Jolla, San Diego, Imperial Valley, up to the Northernmost tip of California, Oregon, Washington State, and Alaska . They also filled the interior Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico areas and resided as the Anasazi, Pima Mandinka, Folsoms, Pericu, San Diegitos, Yacquis and others. Their bones and Archaeological Science confirms their presence. Notes found from the Mission Priests and the Director of the Museum of Man in 1958, referred to the Ancient Natives as, "like Australian Blackfellows." In the Eastern Aboriginal Indian Country, Ethnic Natives emigrated from the Canary Islands, Africa and Spain (Moors), Canada, Maine, Rhode Island, Delaware, Virginia, Maryland down to the tip of Florida. This is not to say that Ethnic Autochthons did not also reside in these areas. Indeed Owsley an Archaeologist associated with the Smithsonian Institution reclassified bones dredged up from a Native American Burial as having been phenotypically African upon review (despite the Native American Clothing and Burial Ways). The Eastern and Western Ethnic Aboriginals converged in a myriad of ways in America's Interior and they resided in the Carolinas (now known as North and South Carolina) and what has become known as the American Black Belt-Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. They outflowed into Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Of course everyone of us remembers the stand taken by the Free Black Seminoles who signed a Treaty in Florida, which brought them to Oklahoma in the 1830s and 1840s to make new settlements at Wewoka, Deep Fork and other places. The treachery of the U.S. Solicitor reached an all time high, when he rendered a decision that the Free Black Seminoles would be reduced to a condition of Slavery to the Creeks in Oklahoma (they had been free from Slavery to the Creeks for 100 years prior to traveling to Oklahoma). Upon hearing this news, the Black Seminoles felt they would rather die than be Slaves to any man, so they self-emigrated to Mexico in the winter of 1849, where they were allowed to live in Freedom upon a reservation granted to the Black Seminoles by the Mexican Central Government in 1850. The remaining Seminoles in Oklahoma were quarantined (placed in a concentration camp) to prevent them from joining the Black Seminoles of Texas and Mexico. The two Bands of Black Indians remaining in Oklahoma are still tenuously attached to the Seminole Nation today, despite attempts to exile them in recent years also. However, they are not eligible for the same benefits, Treaty Rights and entitlements available to Red Indians because of unequal rules of Federal Access to Loans, along with other programs available to Indians, accessed through the Indian Reorganization Act. All attempts to compel the United States Government to correct the equal and racially discriminatory disparities have been met with disinterest and half-hearted attempts to feign fleeting interest that dies with our outcries that have been drowned out by wag the dog incidents and the continuing faux war on terror. Black Indians are caught between a massive "rock" and a "hard place." Native America is afraid that Black Indians will awaken African Americans, who likely have Native American Ancestry and the same valid a claim as Black Indians to what has been stolen from them. The other problem is the failure of Black Indians in defeating the media traps that will not allow us to let African Americans know how big a stake they have in righting the wrongs committed upon Black Indians of the 5 Civilized Tribes. Because of the Media disconnect, African Americans have not expressed solidarity with Black Indians in demanding redress for Governmental ineptitude, neither have the majority of the Native American populace who seem to believe that all Black Indians want is what little bit the Indians have. In reality, Native Americans should be joining Black Indians in forcing the U.S. Government to deal fairly with Black Indians who have legitimate Treaty Rights, to fund their own Sovereign Nations, which takes the stress off of the parent Tribal Nations in having to deal with the throngs of Black Indians who are truly eligible as lineal descendants and heirs of their Native American Ancestors. Black Indian Tribal Governments can deal with dispensing Tribal Programs and Funds to their own people. This is the answer to the ills facing Black Indians and African Americans in general. Upon the continuance of forced Exile of Black Indians from the former Indian Territory, (from 1924 to the 1960s) our Indian Ancestors continued their great Western migration into the Central Valley of California and points South (San Diego, Compton, Los Angeles, Inglewood) and points North (Sacramento Valley, Fresno, Oakland and San Francisco). I don't ask that you simply take my word for it. Use your good sense, open mind and newly aroused visual senses to take in the truth behind the truth on this day. Black Indians have an Aboriginal Claim to the lands of the Americas and as such have as much right and entitlement as Red People (our relatives) and Mixed Breeds, to part and parcel of the lands of our Ancient Fathers. Our people were decimated by Illegal European Aliens in Aboriginal Indian Country and their manifest destiny and foreign diseases nearly destroyed the majority of Aboriginal America, including the Creator's favored Ethnic Aboriginals. However, we live to tell the story of our beginnings and our present plight, which includes waging an epic struggle to reclaim our stolen lands, treaty rights and to rebuild our aborted Economic Infrastructure. Because of Americas penchant for avoiding the truth, deceit and selective amnesia, many of our people believe they are solely African American. America has a vested interest (to the tune of Billions of dollars in Land, Mineral Rights, Oil, Natural Gas, Coal and other revenues) in keeping you blind and unknowing of your true Ancestral Past, and wants you to think that you are a transient people having no claim to the aboriginal soil of America. They have treated us and Continental Africans like our African Blood makes us ineligible for anything, especially aboriginal claims. Not even eligible for life itself. We have survived purposeful ethnic reclassification, our ancestor's histories have been whitewashed, obliterated in many cases and we have been alienated from the truth of our Ancestral Origins and we have been lied to about our true Nationality. There are not many people who know that Black Indians-specifically those hailing from Oklahoma Indian Territory, have no other Nationality than Native American. We have been covered by Treaties (exclusively) and as residents of Indian Country, were not the beneficiaries of Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation intended to benefit those in U.S. held States. Since Oklahoma never adopted or ratified the 14th Amendment (because it was Indian Territory), our people were not covered by the Citizenship granted persons in the States in 1865. The lineal descendants of Americas Ethnic Black Indians are each invited to come and learn about your true history at Leona Mitchell Southern Heights Heritage Center and Museum in Enid, Oklahoma. I invite you to take this day to learn about the groups that are fighting to restore our Treaty Rights, Citizenship Rights, Land Rights and more. Learn about the Class Action Claim of Black Indians and Freedmen, a legal fight taken on by Harvest Institute Freedmen Federation of Washington, D.C., Black Indians United Legal Defense and Education Fund of Enid, Oklahoma and Chief William Warrior of the United Warrior Band of the Seminole Nation (the lineal descendants of John Horse's Seminole Negro Scouts). Learn about the numerous Freedmen Bands of Black Indian Tribal Nations arising from the parent tribes; Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Seminole Nations. Learn about the United Ishtehotopih Band of the Chickasaw Nation; the United Tuscaloosa Band of the Choctaw Nation; the United Warrior Band of the Seminole Nation; the Chunchula Alabama Band of the Mississippi Choctaw Nation; the Kelly-Carolina Cherokee-Blackfeet Band of the Cherokee Nation; the United Loyal Muscogee Creek Band of the Creek Nation and others as they fight for Independent Sovereign rule of their people, free from the tyranny and oppression of their parent tribes who have each abdicated their 1866 Treaty mandated Fiscal and Legal Responsibilities for Native American Citizens having African Blood. Learn about the illegal application of Blood Quantum in the 20th Century as a tool of exclusion. Learn about the revised exclusionary Tribal Constitutions of the parent Tribal Nations of the 5 Civilized Tribes. Learn about how the United States Federal Government dropped the ball in their 1866 Federal Treaty Mandate to provide for the Ethnic Protectorate of the Tribes in equity and fairness. You also need to learn who is supporting Indian Freedmen and Ethnic Black Indians of the Five Civilized Tribes in our monumental struggle and the surprising list of those who are not supporting Ethnic Black Indians of the Five Civilized Tribes in the fight to reclaim, maintain and sustain our indefeasible Treaty Rights as heirs, beneficiaries and assigns of our Ethnic Black Indian Ancestors. Above all, learn how and why you should support all of the following Indian Freedmen and Black Indians Entities, Organizations, Tribal Bands and Attorneys; Harvest Institute Freedmen Federation of Washington, D.C. Black Indians United Legal Defense and Education Fund of Enid, Oklahoma Senator Diane Watson's HR. 2824 J.C. Watt's Native American Reconciliation Campaign Attorney Percy Squire Attorney Jon Velie United Ishtehotopih Band of the Chickasaw Nation United Tuscaloosa Band of the Choctaw Nation United Warrior Band of the Seminole Nation Chunchula Alabama Band of the Mississippi Choctaw Nation Kelly-Carolina Cherokee-Blackfeet Band of the Cherokee Nation United Loyal Muscogee Creek Band of the Creek Nation The Cherokee Freedmen Nation of Oklahoma The Indigenous Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole Nations Use the day called Thanksgiving wisely by discussing the following: 1. Black Indian Signatories and Representatives in the Treaties of 1865. 2. Indian Freedmen specifically mentioned in the Treaties of 1866. 3. Continuing Treaty Rights for Red Indians, but Discontinued Treaty Rights for Black Indians (stemming from the Same Treaty). 4. Black Indian Nationality (Covered by Historic Indian Jurisdiction, Geographical Boundaries, Residence, Adoption and Treaty Guarantees beginning with 1785 Treaty of Hopewell (South Carolina). 6. Indian Nation Sovereignty vs. Citizenship and Nationality Guarantees by Treaty and Adoption. 7. Black Indians did not live in U.S. States (Indian Country, Territory, Reservations, Districts). 8. Legality of being Stripped of Nationality without having committed Treason, Sedition, or Overthrow of Government. 9. Should Black Indians be timed barred or restricted from reclaiming their Treaty Rights if their was malice Involved, preventing their gaining access to information about their rights? 10. Is the U.S. Government justified in denying Black Indians access to Lands and Tribal Trust Funds set-aside for their exclusive use and benefit, simply because their claim was not made within some arbitrary 20th Century (6 year statute of limitations)? 11. Should the Cherokee Nation support the Treaty Rights of Their Black Indians or help the U.S. Government deny Treaty Rights to a rightfully entitled group just because they also have African Ancestry or were formerly enslaved?

Front Row
Everyone Can't Be in Your Front Row
Life is a theater - invite your audience carefully. Not everyone is holy enough and healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go, or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships/friendships/fellowships!
Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention to: Which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage and which ones discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill?
When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel worse? Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know and appreciate you and the gift that lies within you?
The more you seek God and the things of God -- the more you seek quality, the more you seek not just the hand of God but the face of God -- the more you seek things honorable -- the more you seek growth, peace of mind, love and truth around you, the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the FRONT ROW and who should be moved to the balcony of your life.
You cannot change the people around you...but you can change the people you are around! Ask God for wisdom and discernment and choose wisely the people who sit in the front row of your life.

I copied this from a friends page and its so true... I am going to practice this!
The Thoughts you Choose
Where your mind lives is where your life is headed. What you think about most willingly, when you have nothing else you must think about, will define the direction of your life. No matter what may be happening in the world outside of you, you have the power to choose your own thoughts. And the thoughts you choose can have an enormous impact.
When all is quiet, when the necessities of the day have been tended to, when your mind is free of any constraints, what kinds of things do you think about? The thoughts you have at such times, the thoughts you choose to think, are the thoughts that will show you who you truly are.
Steer those thoughts away from anger, limitation, worry and envy. Direct your mind toward thoughts of love, possibility, confidence, abundance and generosity.
Whatever may be going on in the outside world, your mind can live precisely where you choose for it to live. Choose to let it live in an empowering, life-affirming, rich and creative place.
Choosing the life you want begins with choosing the thoughts that will direct you to it. Those thoughts are yours to choose this very moment.

10 Signs It's Time to Quit Kate Lorenz, CareerBuilder.com Editor
"I like what I do. I just don't like where I work." Sound familiar?
From unbearable co-workers to depressing work environments, there things that can make even the best job a living hell. Here are some signs it's time to look for a new job.
Sign No. 1: Your co-workers are annoying. Obnoxious people can invade your work life. Let's face it, not everyone gets along perfectly. But you need to have some sort of harmonious relationship with fellow employees to get the job done. How are you supposed to get any work done when these guys keep getting in the way? They are distracting and impede productivity. Most offices have a Gossip, that one person who has the "scoop" all the time and is not afraid to share it. Misery loves company, and finds it often in the Whiner, who isn't afraid to complain and bellyache. And everyone has the Neighbor whose noisy distractions include his cellular ringtone, speakerphone and radio.
Sign No. 2: The environment is toxic. Everyone experiences job highs and lows, but discontent could also be a sign of a chronically depressing work environment or even a company in peril. A bad work environment is reflective of the culture of an entire business. Do you work in a less-than-nurturing atmosphere? Is morale constantly low? Have you been complaining for two solid years? It could be an organizational problem that applying feng shui to your cube just won't fix.
Sign No. 3: You're mentally exhausted by the end of the day. Stress can cause low morale, decreased productivity and apathy towards work. Plus, it can spill into your personal life and even have a negative effect on your health. Today there are fewer people who are taking on more and more work. American workers experience burnout at an alarming rate. According to CareerBuilder, 68 percent of workers feel burnout at work, and 45 percent said their workloads are too heavy. Yes, we all have to pick up some slack and "take one for the team" from time to time. But if there's no end in sight, do yourself and your health a favor and dust off your résumé.
Sign No. 4: Your boss is a nightmare. Even though this person is your boss, it doesn't give him license to do anything he wants. If you have a lousy boss, even the best job in the world can make life a living hell. Your relationship with your supervisor plays a big role in your overall professional happiness and success. Fighting to have your boss removed or waiting for your boss to change or get fired are rarely successful tactics. If you are working for someone who is always absent, unavailable, self-absorbed or untrustworthy, it's time to look for a better supervisor and a better opportunity.
Sign No. 5: You're watching the clock... every 10 minutes. Though you might not like to work, it's even worse when you are bored while you're there. One can only watch so many videos on YouTube or bid on unneeded things on eBay. If you aren't feeling challenged, that's a sign that you need additional responsibilities or a change roles. And be warned, if you don't have any responsibility or find yourself with nothing to do, management might be trying to phase you out and you might be in danger of losing your job.
Sign No. 6: You get no respect. Does any of this sound familiar? Your ideas aren't taken seriously; there are no opportunities for advancement; the boss ignores you; co-workers alienate you; you're discouraged from improving skills with a course or seminar; you're passed over for a promotion -- again; or you're excluded from key projects and strategizing sessions. So why are you still giving this organization your time, energy and great ideas?
Sign No. 7: Your co-workers act like animals. They live for themselves and only themselves. They irritate you. They offend you. They have no manners or ethics. And you work with them all. There's the Office Thief who steals your ideas. The Shirker arrives late, leaves early and disappears whenever work is near. The Buck-passer unloads her work onto everyone else and blames others for her mistakes. The Procrastinator delays things until the last possible minute, slowing you down by not having the information you need to meet your deadlines. The Interrupter stops by your cubicle 10 times a day to chat about her latest boyfriend despite your ringing telephone and pressing deadlines. And don't forget the infamous Elevator Person who rides up only one floor instead of taking the stairs.
Sign No. 8: Nobody communicates. Although we live in a world of e-mail, cell phones, instant messages, Blackberries, WiFi and, yes, even face-to-face conversation, there can still be a complete lack of communication. Whether it's a co-worker who's not returning your voice mail or the CEO not conveying a company's goals and accomplishments, the breakdown of communication can be frustrating and detrimental to your job. It can cost you an account, make you to miss a deadline, cause you to lose a client, and even get you fired.
Sign No. 9: You're not valued. Forty-three percent of workers do not feel appreciated, and one-fourth of workers feel that they are just a "number" within their organization. You need to realize that you deserve credit for your successes. Recognition is important, and good companies implement programs to let employees know they are valued. Is your company doing anything to reward your efforts? Do you ever receive bonuses, perks or positive feedback? If your boss has never heard of positive reinforcement verbal or otherwise, find a company that will value your talents.
Sign No. 10: You feel stifled. What kind of quality of life do you have? Is your 40-hour week turning into a 24/7 grind? While salary may seem like the end all and be all, your quality of life determines your overall happiness. How much time you spend on the job, working conditions, supervisors and subordinates can positively and negatively impact your job outlook. If you dread the time you spent at work, it should be a clear indicator that it's time to break free. A job shouldn't stifle you creatively, mentally or physically.
Bottom line: Considering what you don't like about your current situation should give you insight into what you are seeking in future endeavors. If you know what your priorities and preferences are and actively seek them, work can be an enjoyable experience.

THE FIRST INSIGHT . . . A CRITICAL MASS A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.
THE SECOND INSIGHT . . . THE LONGER NOW This awakening represents the creation of a new, more complete worldview, which replaces a five-hundred-year-old preoccupation with secular survival and comfort. While this technological preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to life's coincidences is opening us up to the real purpose of human life on this planet, and the real nature of our universe.
THE THIRD INSIGHT . . . A MATTER OF ENERGY We now experience that we live not in a material universe, but in a universe of dynamic energy. Everything extant is a field of sacred energy that we can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project our energy by focusing our attention in the desired direction...where attention goes, energy flows...influencing other energy systems and increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives.
THE FOURTH INSIGHT . . . THE STRUGGLE FOR POWER Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.
THE FIFTH INSIGHT . . . THE MESSAGE OF THE MYSTICS Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an inner connection with divine energy within, a connection described by mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness--buoyancy--along with the constant sensation of love are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.
THE SIXTH INSIGHT . . . CLEARING THE PAST The more we stay connected, the more we are acutely aware of those times when we lose connection, usually when we are under stress. In these times, we can see our own particular way of stealing energy from others. Once our manipulations are brought to personal awareness, our connection becomes more constant and we can discover our own growth path in life, and our spiritual mission--the personal way we can contribute to the world.
THE SEVENTH INSIGHT . . . ENGAGING THE FLOW Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our destinies. First we have a question; then dreams, daydreams, and intuitions lead us towards the answers, which usually are synchronistically provided by the wisdom of another human being.
THE EIGHTH INSIGHT . . . THE INTERPERSONAL ETHIC We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially effective in groups where each member can feel energy of all the others. With children it is extremely important for their early security and growth. By seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing a synchronistic message.
THE NINTH INSIGHT . . . THE EMERGING CULTURE As we all evolve toward the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death.
THE TENTH INSIGHT . . . HOLDING THE VISION The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer everyday.
THE ELEVENTH INSIGHT . . . EXTENDING PRAYER FIELDS The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.
THE TWELFTH INSIGHT . . . IS YET TO BE RELEASED

I am sending this to you to see how many actually read their bulletins. Your response will be interesting. Pay attention to what you read. After you have finished reading it, you will know the reason it was sent to you. Here goes:
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or! make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.!
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to! accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
Send this to every friend that you have on-line, including the person who sent it to you.

I joined the Myspace.com Network on Dec 6th 2004.
My friend Sha Johnson helped me set up my page and told me to build my network.
I decided to dedicate my page to the Music Industry by adding DJs, producers and artist.
I wanted to build a neighborhood of exciting and cutting edge artists and DJs.
I started a 6 month mission to add as many friends as I could with a goal of reaching 2,000 friends by May of 2005.
On May 24th, 2005, I discovered a beautiful West Australian artist named Che'Nelle!
After reading her profile and reviewing her music, I decided to reach out to her by sending her and email. She had the voice of an Angel and an international look I could not resist. I have been in the music industry for over 20 years and I had never seen an artist with such potential. Her Manager Amy Hanif replied and sent me her demo.
I was amazed with her talent and lyrical style. Her music was rhythmic and could cross all formats. A real nu-urban style that incorporated R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Rock and Reggae Dancehall. Her slow songs are amazing even in rough demo form. She had a unique signature and song writing style that I could not compare with any artist in the Market. She reminded me of Tina Marie, Cindy Lauper and other artist before her time. At the age of 22 years old, she writes, arranges, mixes and produces tracks and her own vocals!
I had to have her and shop her in the states. We met on the phone in June and over the next two months, we spoke constantly and got to know eachother
(cingular wireless and t-mobile were very happy with my phone bills..lol).
She sent me video footage, more songs and I was blown away with her personality and demeanor. I felt like she was the Star I have been searching for. In August after getting to know Che'Nelle and Amy, I decided to officially sign her to SCIP.
We finished our deal by the end of September and started to record more music and build a solid base on Myspace and the Internet. Along with Amy, we all gathered more tracks from producers and I started preparing her for America. In her home studio she produced about 19 songs! In late October I started to play her music for my Industry friends including Roslynn Cobarrubias from Myspace and the feedback was Great.
Everyone got it, even if they didn't know where to put her, her talent and my vision were understood. My best friend Al branch also played her for a few of his friends and got the same reaction from her rough demos. Over and over again, I was asked if I had actually, physically met her and besides our daily calls and webcam meetings I had not met with her or Amy face to face. So in late November before Thanksgiving, I went 12,000 miles to Perth to see her and Amy in person. I bought a camcorder to prepare footage for a DVD and went to Perth Australia. She was even more amazing than I imagined. I recorded her in her studio, at her shows in the club and around the city and compiled 3 hours of footage.
I arrived back in the states on Thanksgiving.
A week later, I reached out to Steve Tramposch on December 2nd. I told him to checkout my artist's website on Myspace and let me know what he thought. Steve had just started at Virgin and he had great ears and a vision. He called me back on Sunday at 10AM, during the first snow storm of the winter. He wanted to meet ASAP. Steve said he played the DJ song for Jason Flom his boss and Jason loved it. I told Steve I could meet him on Tuesday and I had several hours of footage from my trip.
So on Tuesday, Dec 6th on the anniversary of joining Myspace, I had one of the best meeting of my career! After viewing the footage, Jason Flom made an offer that I could not refuse! It was as if he read my mind. I called my Lawyer, Tia Gilford of West Entertainment and we did the deal by Friday. Steve flew in Che'Nelle and Amy on Monday and we signed on Tuesday! It was a blessing from GOD a real miracle. They say blessings come when you are prepared to handle them...and not before!
I started my professional career in 1985 at OMAP record pool in Washington, DC as a chart editor and writer for ON Magazine. I DJed on Campus at University of Maryland and played in the local clubs. In 1987, I started the DC area's first official mixshow on WPGC, with my own equipment from my house lol. Little did I know that station format would be the blueprint for all crossover mixshows of today.
In 1990, I started my record company career at Tommyboy records in New York. I put together one of the first mixshow databases ever. At that time, Billboard club DJs had the spotlight and labels were not as concerned with DJs that mixed on the air. They dealt directly with the Pd. and Md. and Mixers did not get a lot of credit.
In 1992 - 1994, I worked for Pendulum Records(Digable Planets, LOTUG), Djed on WBLS and maintained the show I started in London on Choice 96.9 fm. Spending time in London, I was able to break artist like Lisa Stansfield and Rick Astley in America. In 1996 I started at MCA records and established the first Mixshow department at a label.
MCA approved my job description and the rest is now history. Every label has a mixshow department now. In 1999, I started at TVT records. The Urban department was formerly known as Blunt recordings. I helped the A&R department sign Naughty by Nature, Lil John and I promoted Snoop and The Eastsidas to platinum status before going to Columbia records to help revamp their Mixshow department in 2001. In 2003, I decided to start SCIP (Sir Charles Independent Productions & Promotions) and look for promising talent. With all my experience in the Industry, I am now able to apply that to my own company and develop a new star!

Let's make him visible to those who do not know.
Dr. Mark Dean, "America's High Tech "Invisible Man"
By Tyrone D. Taborn
You may not have heard of Dr. Mark Dean. And you aren't alone. But almost everything in your life has been affected by his work.
See, Dr. Mark Dean is a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He is in the National Hall of Inventors. He has more than 30 patents pending. He is a vice president with IBM. Oh, yeah. And he is also the architect of the modern-day personal computer. Dr. Dean holds three of the original nine patents on the computer that all PCs are based upon. And, Dr Mark Dean is an African American.
So how is it that we can celebrate the 20th anniversary of the IBM personal computer without reading or hearing a single word about him?
Given all of the pressure mass media are under about negative portrayals of African Americans on television and in print, you would think it would be a slam dunk to highlight someone like Dr. Dean.
Somehow, though, we have managed to miss the shot. History is cruel when it comes to telling the stories of African Americans. Dr. Dean isn't the first Black inventor to be overlooked. Consider John Stanard, inventor of the refrigerator, George Sampson, creator of the clothes dryer, Alexander Miles and his elevator, Lewis Latimer and the electric lamp. All of these inventors share two things:
One, they changed the landscape of our society; and, two, society
relegated them to the footnotes of history.
Hopefully, Dr. Mark Dean won't go away as quietly as they did. He certainly shouldn't. Dr. Dean helped start a Digital Revolution that created people like Microsoft's Bill Gates and Dell Computer's Michael Dell. Millions of jobs in information technology can be traced back directly to Dr. Dean.
More important, stories like Dr. Mark Dean's should serve as inspiration for African-American children. Already victims of the "Digital Divide" and failing school systems, young, Black kids might embrace technology with more enthusiasm if they knew someone like Dr. Dean already was leading the way.
Although technically Dr. Dean can't be credited with creating the computer -- that is left to Alan Turing, a pioneering 20th-century English mathematician, widely considered to be the father of modern computer science -- Dr. Dean rightly deserves to take a bow for the machine we use today. The computer really wasn't practical for home or small business use until he came along, leading a team that developed the interior architecture (ISA systems bus) that enables multiple devices, such as modems and printers, to be connected to personal computers.
In other words, because of Dr. Dean, the PC became a part of our daily lives For most of us, changing the face of society would have been enough. But not for Dr. Dean. Still in his early forties, he has a lot of inventing left in him.
He recently made history again by leading the design team responsible for creating the first 1-gigahertz processor chip. It's just another huge step in making computers faster and smaller. As the world congratulates itself for the new Digital Age brought on by the personal computer, we need to guarantee that the African-American story is part of the hoopla surrounding the most stunning technological advance the world has ever seen.
We cannot afford to let Dr. Mark Dean become a footnote in history. He is well worth his own history book.
