Current mood:  intimidated
We need funding for our new album.  We are an independent band, not signed to any label - this way we can keep our music pure, and make the best possible music for you, the fan :)

To fund the album, we are opening up the investing gates - you can now own a piece of the new album !  With a small investment, you get a share of the revenues made from this album.  So as we make revenue off the sales, you will too!

It's a great system introduced by SellaBand.  It's also risk free, you can get your money back at any time.

Please join our cause! :)

Lately I've seen that there have been a ton of comments in regard to us 'not allowing HTML' in our comment section.  Why do we send out comments with html (i.e. our videos) and don't allow HTML?

Well, when you've got 65,000 people on your list - there are bound to be a few 'spammers' in the mix.  Allowing HTML allows spammers to add all that terrible code that will end up phishing our accounts, and yours, if you click on them.

So unfortunately, it's a small security measure that we've had to take due to the number of people that visit our site.  Thanks for understanding.

Thanks too all of you that voted for us - we are now the OTTAWA VIRGIN RADIO HOUSE BAND! :)

We've won some recording time, and hopefully this will be the start to a great relationship with our local rock station.  We couldn't have done it without your sexy support... so big thanks ;)

Also... Hitsman wanted to say "I love you everybody".  I'm sorry... he did.  He'll probably, at some point have a mass wedding.  Polygamy is cool with us, apparently.

This song is absolutely fantastic.  The chord progression in the verse is incredible, the hook is great, everything about it is great.  So, as you can see ... I like it. :)  I made this video on my own... (so don't blame the rest of the band!)

Let me know what you think!

Each and every time we get together to practice, we've been taking all the new material that we've been working on, and tweaking it a bit each time.  Never have all 5 of us had so much input into the songs that we write - we're truly giving birth with 5 fathers ;)

That being said, the resulting sound is definitely a big mash of influences.  Admittedly, the first couple albums were pretty much written entirely by myself (eric st-cyr).  Now things are all over the map, and we're loving it.  We've got driving beats, soaring bass lines, fantastic key and guitar lines, and great harmonies.  I'm really happy with the sound we've created, we've finally made the sound of 'epyllion'.

And I'm really worried that it'll go over like a lead balloon.  It's not like the music we've made before, it might sound a bit more 'pop', or 'quirky', there's not as much grundge and drama in the music... then again, there's not as much drama in our lives... things are brighter these days.

Our latest release, "Disc 01 / Disc 02" is finally available on all digital retailers, including iTunes worldwide.  The link is right here.

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSto..re.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=306521560&s=14345..5

The reason we suggest iTunes is because it's available all over the world, where as some of the online distributors only support America / Canada.

We're pretty proud of this disc - and there's a ton of material.  Not only do you get all 20 songs from the album, included in the digital release are 12 extra b-sides as a bonus.  So, 32 songs for only 9.99.  Or, 31 cents per song.

From now on, I'll do my best, even if it takes forever - to respond to all the messages in our inbox.  I let it slip for a bit, because they were piling up - but I'll write back to all of them, don't worry.

The comments however, they come to fast - and it's hard to keep up with them... so I won't be able to respond to those... but if you have a question, and want an answer, please send us a message! :)

Love you guys.

I just found out that our drummer, Chris Zimmerman got a job giving drum lessons at a local music school here in Ottawa.  So, if you live in the area, you can get lessons from 4 out of the 5 of the members of the band, who all teach their instruments respectively.

You need to be more than just proficient at your instrument of choice to be able to teach, it requires patience, grace, and determination.  The great side of teaching, which you don't realize until you start, is you learn much more than you would by studying.  Your students will throw questions at you which you need to answer, or at least need to find an answer for, questions that you wouldn't have even though of asking yourself.

It's also a great excuse to play music all day, and improve while doing so.  Even coming up with chord progressions for your students to practice on can be a great songwriting exercise.

I've been doing soul searching since the age of 14, to find the guitar to call my own.

Every guitarist need to find his sound, and electric guitars come in all sorts of flavours.  My first guitar was a second hand, strato-copy by a company called "Hondo", it's from the late seventies and had a very rough sound.  I believe I bought it for around 100$ or so.  I played that guitar for about 5-6 years, and it served me well.

Since then, I've tried a million different guitars.  For a while, I used Les Pauls, and it did the trick, but I found the sound was always too smooth.  So then, recently, I became the proud owner of a beautiful, purple Ibanez guitar, but the sound was too harsh.  At this point, I'm starting to sound like goldilocks.

About a week ago, I pulled my old hondo strato-copy out of storage, and plugged in into my new amp setup (Marshall Valvestate 2000).  I was blown away by the sound, it's the sound I've always been looking for.  In fact, I almost bought a proper Fender Strat to get the sound I was looking for, but it looks like I wont need to spend a couple grand, the sound has been there all along.

It's grungy, it's nasty, even when it's clean, it's kind of distorted.  It's my soul, in a guitar.  When I was a teen, I named it "Angela".  I even wrote a song ( a bad song , mind you ) called Angela, all about my guitar.  And now, I don't think I'll ever use another one.
