Did you grow up with them too? My parents were in love with the Kingston Trio and until I reached a certain age and started to glom onto my brother's record collection (more along the lines of the Beatles, Peter Gabriel, Tears for Fears) I was subjected to a cheese ball parade of 60s and 70s folk duos and trios. I cannot entirely discount the effects of these musical masters on my own sound though, and let's face the facts: these guys have been around for a long time in an ever-changing industry where longevity is the luxury of a chosen few.

Though I can't attest to this personally, having never attended a live performance, it seems from their quite complimentary reviews that the group has a fairly contemporary sense of humor (not like your pun-happy grandfather's). In a recent show they dedicated their old favorite "Tijuana Jail" to Paris Hilton. Taking a look at their website it seems that their humor extends to their matching outfits: Rainbow shirts and white pants guys? Seriously??

Corny or not, these highly influential virtuosos are worth checking out, especially since they'll be giving a talk on their experiences with the music industry preceding the show. I'll be moderating said talk, so if you're one of the 6 people from our generation that knows who these guys are and have a question you'd like asked, feel free to drop me a line!

Well...

Here we are back in sunny Seattle after a lovely weekend of travel! 3 shows in 24 hours, 96 degree afternoons, 620 miles, 3 cowboy hats, and lots of new friends. Thanks to everyone that made the short, but sweet tour a success!

Did you notice the new song?? How This One Ends was written about a month ago and recorded at Tango City. I'm going to be posting tunes that we're working on as they become listenable, so keep a watch out for new ones every now and again!! Hopefully this will tide you over until we get a new album going.

Cheers!

It was the kind of night that's perfect even when there's a wire loose in your guitar and your sweater keeps falling off your shoulder.

A gigantic THANK YOU to everyone that came out to see us at the Tractor Tavern on Thursday!! I don't believe I've ever had that much fun at a show before. I think the incredibly high level of musicianship throughout all of the bands was the most amazing part of the night for me. Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers have never sounded better! They set the bar so high, they had Charlie and I shaking in our boots ;) Memphis Radio Kings finished off the evening with enough energy to fill 5 Tractor Taverns.

I made new friends. I sang my ass off. I got to listen to a couple of kick-ass bands. What more could a girl ask for??

Here's to many more magical nights at the Tractor Tavern....
