The past few months a lot of things happened. I've heard and read horrible things happening back home and lots of it is about race and stuff. This is not a new thing and it happens all over the world. That is why this mix is entitled Kolourblind. Lets not create a divide among ourselves and just get along and spread the love.

This is also a little tribute to the man main Micheal Jackson whos music has been the soundtrack of me growing up. There is nothing to be said as the music has said it all being played on records, on radios and which ever format you can find all across the globe. He has moonwalked on every inch of the world connecting and uniting the humanity. Together we can make it. A true legend!

Although i dont consider myself a turntablist (yet!) i am always a big fan of Grandmaster Roc Raida. One of the pioneer of Hip Hop DJ. Words cannot described how he has change the world of turntablism and hip hop as a whole. He has inspires many of the old and new turntablist including Craze and many others. Another legend that has passed away but will never be forgotten as he is just magical in front of the decks. One of the true battle DJ.

It was a last minute thing playing for the summer ball yesterday. Received a message from the Monk of midlandsdnb.com crew asking for me to play a back 2 back set with him for the ball.

Since i've finish my studies last February i never heard anything bout the Summer Ball. The winter ball was canceled because there was not many that were interested in it. So I was impresed when i came to the Summer Ball entering their venue it was surprisingly good. Everyone suited up and ladies looking fineeeee.

The set up was brilliant with 4 main area and a cinema. The LRV was for the ravers to dance their ass off after a long week of exams. Headlining LRV was Pendulum acompanied by MC Verse. Exiting LRV, a smoking/chill area ala Persian with bim bags and cushens on the floor under a huge tent. A great area to chill and get yourself together after dancing to some bangin tunes from in house djs. Next to the chill area was a comedy tent which unfortunately we didnt have the time to check it out.

The yard was no longer the yard when it was transformed to a funfair with a couple of rides for the adrenaline junkies. Burgers and snacks were on sale for those who feel hungry after inhaling a certain type of herb. hehe. The burgers were expensive tho!

Entering the silent disco was funny. Everyone was dancing to practically nothing. But wait! what is that on their heads? Everyone had to wear a headphone and select which channel to listen to. There were 2 djs battling to have all the ravers to dance on their mix. Playing all sorts of genre from electro house to rock to rnb back to electro house.With some pretty decent ligthings which was setup by a guy which is a student at Staffs Uni who rejected the job for the BBC Big Weekend (WTF!) because of his girlfriend(again WTF!) the room looks really cool. When the time for us to play we obviously played the meanest set of Drum N Bass. hehe. Having nearly break my back carrying records they only setup cdjs for us to play with. Luckily i brought some backup cds to play with. I was a lil bump not able to play my records after practising with it on my new set of decks(a lil graduation present). Yeah with no monitors since it was a silent disco it was a new experience for us having to monitor just using the headphones cueing and playing. But after a while we got a hang of it. After a performance by N Dubz at the transformed sports hall we had everyone thirsty for some Drum N Bass flowing thru raming the silent disco before the Pendulum set at LRV.

We managed to catch their show rite after our set. Even though it was just a dj set they managed to smashed the place up playing lots of their new tracks from the latest album with a mix of their old anthems and even played a remix of Metallica which tear the roof of LRV.

Overall it was a good experience for me and big up to Monk for the oportunity!
