If you are planning to submit an AMV for the AMV Contest, you better hurry up! The August 5th Deadline is coming up very shortly. The top Editor's Choice AMV will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to Best Buy. If you want to get your AMV submitted, check out the submission rules and submit it ASAP!

If you want FREE passes to San Japan 2.x then listen to KSYM 90.1 FM this Saturday, 8/01/09 from 11pm to 1am. Joey will be giving away passes on the Tsaturday Tsunami show. If you don't live in San Antonio, you can stream the radio station live online on their website.

 Hotel reservations have closed with the El Tropicano. We do have an overflow hotel already setup with the Hotel Indigo which is across the street from the El Tropicano. Anyone needing reservations would need to call the hotel directly at 210-527-1900 to make a reservation at this special rate of $119+tax for King Single Bed and $129+tax for Double Queen. The Alamo Cosplay Troop in conjunction with the San Antonio Public Library system have organized an event held this upcoming Wednesday for all people who cosplay or are interested in cosplay. The event will be featured on the San Antonio Express News and photographers will be on hand to take pictures for the newspaper. We encourage many cosplayers to show up and support the local cosplay community.

Catching up on recent guests we've been adding to our guest roster, we are proud to announce that voice actors Kyle Hebert, Jonathan Joss and the return of Samantha Inoue-Harte will be guests at San Japan 2.x. San Japan will see the return of artist Amelie Belcher, artists from Antarctic Press, along with the return of cosplay guests CapsuleCorp, Shoeless Cosplay and DigitalDimension Cosplay.

We've now made it a lot easier to submit to the AMV Contest. Just fill out the online form including a link to the AMV. The winner of 'Best In Show' will receive a $25 Gift Card to Best Buy. All entries need to be received by August 5th. Online entries must be a link to directly download the AMV, we will not take Youtube Link Submissions. Please read the rules carefully before submitting your entry.


July 1st is the deadline for the T-Shirt Design Contest. The winner receives a free VIP badge and a free T-Shirt.


July 5th is the deadline to be a volunteer at San Japan. For a small nominal upfront application fee, all volunteers who work hard at San Japan will receive a free badge, free food, free crash space and $25 voucher to spend in the dealer's room. We still need as many volunteers as possible. To answer a common question we've been receiving, we will take people who are 17 years old if you have convention/volunteer experience. Check out the volunteer page for more information.


If you are still dragging your feet to pre-reg, you only have about a month left to get on it. Pre-registration is $35 for a 3-Day weekend pass. The At-Door price for passes will be $45 and one-day passes will be $25 for Friday, $30 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday. Children discount passes for anyone under 13 will be available at the door. Go to the registration web page to pre-reg. We accept all major credit cards through Paypal and mail-in registration too.


If you are planning to stay the weekend at San Japan, be sure to reserve your hotel room at the El Tropicano for a discount rate of $114/night+tax  (normally $180). You are not required to reserve a hotel room when pre-registering for San Japan but it helps us out greatly when you stay at the El Tropicano. We have a limited amount of rooms allocated to us so reserve your room as soon as possible.


The deadline for the discount pre-registration & reserving your hotel room is July 15th.

If you have a group of people who would like to register for San Japan, we can now take group registrations online. Any group of 10 to 24 people will get a $5 discount per badge and any group of 25 to 50 people will get a $10 discount per badge. Just head over to the registration page to start.
