Current mood: sleepy
Okay well haven't blogged in awhile. Just got back from Mexico a couple weeks ago so that was fun. I want to learn Spanish...Anyone wanna teach me? Also I am going to get my first student intern soon so I am excited about that. I guess I better brush up on my special tests and all - don't wanna look like an idiot! Umm...Let's see, I saw that "Moon" movie. It was good but not as good as all the critics said. I saw "Orphan" and though I had low expectations, it wasn't bad. I rented "The Unborn" just out of curiosity and it was as expected. The weirdest thing is, only the night before I was reading in a book about hauntings and learned about a 'dibbuk' and then the very next day I watch that movie and it is about a dibbuk. I hope that isn't some sort of sign. Anyway, I have yet to see Harry Potter. I can only go on a weekend anyway cause it's so dang long I won't get to bed on time. Oh and I went to Magic Springs for the first time this last weekend. The water park was okay but not any better than Wild River Country. The rides were okay but several were closed. The best one was The Gauntlet, a ride we were at first too scared to go on, but finally we did and ended up going on it 2 more times. If there was no line, I'd ride that one al day. This is it. Very fun. Anyway, for a limited time you can go for 29.99 plus a internet durcharge plus tax plus 10 dollars for parking.....So I guess it's alot more when they aren't having a sale. Well I also need to post this adorable picture of my most bestest and only nephew with his favorite thing ever, the crib aquarium I got him. He laughs and smiles when it plays music and he is the cutest guy ever. You can't tell me that isn't the cutest baby ever!!!

Well, today we had to have Chili P. euthanized. R.I.P.
This weekend there was also another scare - Pippin got bit by another turtle pretty bad. It was by accident, too. I wasn't sure if he would make it, but today he is starting some antibiotics and the vet thinks he is going to be fine. Here he is recovering and back to eating.
In other news, baby turtle is growing some. He already eats out of my hand and is very adorable. I am waiting to see if it is male or female before I name it. Here is a pic.
And finally, I have 10 more days until I head to Cancun. I need a vacation and I'm finally getting one!

Okay guys here's my new pet:

Alright well it's not an animal but hey. Alright I don't know what is wrong with me but I also bought a couple of cactuses. So people go through cactus phases? And yes I meant to say cactuses earlier and not cacti.

Alright well I haven't been able to find my digital camera ever since the other day when I saw this ant with 2 heads (one of which was attached but was dead), so thank goodness my phone has a camera. By the way, through crude surgical techniques, I removed the dead head from the ant. My odd pods are growing! I now have 17 sprouts and hoping for more. I am starting to think maybe I should like, plant a garden or something. I think something is wrong with me. Anyway, hopefully they will sprout into big cacti and then I can transplant them into little pots and have them at my desk. And speaking of, I have the best job in the world. I love it.

As some of you may know, the other day I bought an item referred to only as "Odd Pods". With an outer-space theme, this at-home cacti-growing kit comes with a neat plastic apparatus with multi-level tubes and containers to display the sprouting cacti. The kit came with soil, seeds for 20 different varieties of cacti, moon rocks, crater dust, a watering tube, and 3 interchangeable backgrounds for display purposes. What is really cool is that the container it was packaged in doubles as a somewhat-sealed greenhouse to incubate them during the sprouting period.
So you can guess what I have been doing tonight. According to the packaging instructions, they should sprout in one week. I guess we'll see! Anyway, here's a picture I dug up of what it should (ideally) look like:

See what happens when I'm no longer in school?
In unrelated news, Lu Hardin resigns as president of UCA. Details here.

well I don't know what it is but I can't seem to make myself forget was it something that you said or is it all the guilt inside my head

Alright well as many of you may or may not know, I like to go walking around the lake in Maumelle, and I like to feed the ducks. Well, abouta year ago, I went and saw these 2 ducks that were huddled together in a bush next to the parking lot--a black one and a white one. I am pretty sure they were someone's pets who had been abandoned because they wouldn't get into the water and were always starving. So I went every day and fed them and they'd run out of the bushes when they saw me coming. Well eventually, they started getting in the water, and finally started learning how to find food. I still went to see them all the time, though. Either way, they were always together no matter what. I didn't think they would make it through the winter, though.
Well, they survived the winter and I started coming back to see them more. They still remembered me and were still very friendly. They always let me pet them. After several months of coming to see them again, I went one day and the white duck was all alone for the very first time. It was so sad. I assumed that someone took the black duck, or that it had died from someting. From that day on, it was gone. In the meantime, another group of ducks were dropped off in the parking lot too, same as before. There was a white duck with them too, similar to the other white one who was all alone now.
They were even more friendly and would let me pick them up!
I went there yesterday, which was approximately a month after the black one disappeared, and before I could even park my car, this is what I saw!

Aren't they the cutest little duckies ever?! And when I saw the black duck, she still ran up to me! It was so cute. I was just so glad it wasn't dead, and I am sure that the white duck is the daddy, although they weren't hanging out yesterday. I will try and go back and see them today to see what is going on, but still--what a happy ending. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In other news, I am 39 days away from graduation. I still can't comprehend what it is going to be like to be out of school for the first time in 20 years, and to have a career. Yikes!

Well just to let everyone know, I accepted a job at UAMS and will start there soon after I graduate, which I might add, is 68 days away and counting. I can't wait to get out of school and start getting paid for my work rather than paying someone else to LET me be a slave.
Also, my vacation to Orlando/Datona was really fun. We went to Disney stuff, a cool water park, and the beach. And we saw wild dolphins in the ocean. There are some pictures on here.
I really don't know why I'm on here when I need to be doing my laundry, working on a case study, studying for the boards, and going to bed.
Nite nite.

Okay don't have alot of time but wanted to post a new blog since I haven't in so long...
First off, I am interning at UAMS and LOVING it. It is the best place I've been to by far. I am learning a ton and eveyone there is so great. I get free lunch, I'm out by 4, and EVERY DAY I get to spend time in the hot tub! You can't beat that. Best of all, I have gotten several job offers from UAMS and some other places too. I am so close to graduating and I can't wait.
Second, last weekened I went to hot springs and visited the bathhouse/spa for the first time. I loved it and I HAVE to go again. So anytime anyone wants to go to hot springs for a day of fun, let me know!
And lastly, in less than 3 weeks I will be heading off to Orlando and Daytona beach for a fun getaway with friends that will include night clubs, a casino cruise ship, Disneyworld, theme parks, the beach, and an environmental water park! I am still planing all the places we'll be going so if anyone knows anywhere else cool, let me know!

My new clinical at UAMS is great. My CI is cool, they don't make me feel like an idiot, they let me do things MY way, and they hours don't kill me. The work is easy, I'm right next to the pool, and I get to go to the main hospital and eat lunch with friends. I guess it's making up for my last one. I would seriously work here and be happy. I just hope my last one doesn't suck. P.S. This guy is hilarious.
