Hej Alla!

Onsdagen den 20:e maj 2009 gör Detektivbyrån sin fetaste, längsta och bästa konsert någonsin. Vi ägnar hela maj åt att förbereda denna kväll som dessutom kommer filmas och bli en live-DVD. Detta blir vårens absoluta höjdpunkt i Detektivbyrånland!
Vi har stora planer för den här konserten och vill gärna berätta lite om dem:

Inget vanligt gig - Ny show
Det här blir inget vanligt Detektivbyrångig, vi kommer att regissera en helt ny liveshow med ljus, scenografi, nya låtar, nya instrument och nya arrangemang.
Vi tar med oss egna ljus- och ljudtekniker och kommer regissera spelningen på ett sätt som vi aldrig gjort tidigare. Vi kommer att bygga upp stämningen med en setlist med låtar som byggs ihop på nya sätt och ljus som synkar med händelserna och stämningen i musiken och smaskigare, bättre ljud än tidigare. När vi skissade på låtordningen till showen häromdagen strök vi rubriken "setlist" och ersatte med "Manus" istället...

De bästa förutsättningarna för musiken och publiken
Vi har under det senaste året blivit allt mer noga med var och när vi spelar, vi vill ge oss, musiken och publiken de bästa förutsättningarna som går. Därför är vi väldigt glada över att kunna spela på Debaser Medis som har just bra förutsättningar och även erbjuder oss möjligheten för personer under 18 år att komma in, i målsmans sällskap. Vi bad om att få göra en spelning där alla kunde komma och är verkligen glada för att Debaser ville hjälpa oss med det.
Senast när vi besökte Debaser Slussen mötte vi ett av våra finaste publikhav någonsin och kvällen var grym, nu ska vi tillsammans med publiken överträffa det.
Vi har försökt hålla ner biljettpriset och billjetterna kostar 120 kr + förköp.

Vi ska filma och producera en fet live-DVD på spelningen!
Vi har anlitat ett kamerateam för att filma spelningen med fem kameror, vi spelar själva in ljudet. Vi regisserar kameramännen och redigerar och klipper ihop DVD:n själva. Så för alla dem som kommer på spelningen kommer det bli ett speciellt minne att kunna se spelningen igen. DVD:n kommer finnas ute gratis på nätet när den är klar.
Det känns extra bra att göra detta eftersom vi har mycket internationellt intresse, speciellt från Europa, Mexico, Japan och USA. Därför ska det bli jättekul att göra denna DVD så vi kan bjuda dem på att få se en fint filmad Detektivbyrånspelning. Det blir som en gemensam hälsning från oss och Debaserpubliken till dem.
Rent estetiskt vad det gäller ljus, ljud och kameravinklar så har vi kikat väldigt mycket på live DVD:n "Bruce Springsteen - Live in New York". Grunden där är mycket vitt ljus och stort publikhav!, vi ska försöka se till att vår DVD blir lika fet! Vi har börjat samarbeta med en ljustekniker från Göta Lejon i Stockholm som kommer vara med och designa ljussättningen för att se till att scenshowen blir fantastisk för både publiken och kamerorna.

Nya låtar
Vi kommer bjuda publiken på några världspremiärer av nya, osläppta låtar plus nya arrangemang av andra låtar. Dessutom kommer vi spela en gammal hit som vi inte spelat på två år och som alltid, alltid är efterfrågad. Ni som vet vilken vi menar vet, på Debaser kör vi den!

Nya instrument
Martin debuterade på P3 Guldgalan på instrumentet Theremin vilket skapade en inte så liten Theremin-hausse. På Debaser kommer Thereminen vara med och det blir första gången vi spelar theremin på ett vanligt gig. Dessutom kommer en del andra nya instrument som vi inte haft med på scen på ett tag dyka upp, plus ett helt nytt överraskningsinstrument också. Många instrument på scen alltså.

Nya vinylskivor
Vi kommer att släppa två nya vinyler denna kväll, det är "Wermland" och E18 Album" som vi släpper för första gången på vinyl.

Vi har startat en egen distribution!
Istället för att sitta och vänta på att få skriva dåliga avtal med distributörer för distribution utomlands så har vi tagit saken i egna händer och startat en postorder som skickar worldwide. Denna finns på vår hemsida och sköts helt och hållet av oss själva. Detta verkar vara något som våra lyssnare verkligen uppskattar, att kunna köpa skivor av oss direkt - utan de klassiska mellanhänderna som skivbolag, skivaffär och distributör. Vi erbjuder till exempel att man kan få skivan signerad eller dedikerad. till sig själv eller till en vän om det är en present, något som de stora skivbolagen knappast kan erbjuda. Det syns på vart beställningarna kommer från att detta uppskattas av våra internationella lyssnare, på de senaste månaden har vi fått beställningar från:

Vi flyttar köper hus och flyttar ihop på landet!
Vi har fått ett lånelöfte från banken och är just nu ute och kollar på hus. Dit ska vi flytta ihop och bygga studio och producera ny musik! Detta är så otroligt skönt, vi kommer få grym arbetsro och livet på landet med den dagliga turen till posten och mataffären känns liksom perfekt. Läs mer om detta på vår hemsida.

Hi Friends!

Wednesday, the 20th of May 2009 Detektivbyrån will give the most amazing, longest and best gig ever. We are preparing for this special night through all of May and the gig will also be filmed and later released as a live DVD. This will be this spring's highlight in the land of Detektivbyrån! We have so many plans for the two shows and we want to tell you all about it:

Not an ordinary gig - new live show
This won't be an ordinary Detektivbyrån gig, we are going to direct a brand new live show with lights, stage design, new songs, new instruments and new arrangements. We are bringing our own light designer and sound technicians. We are going to build up a atmosphere with our set list and with songs that are working together with different light arrangements. To Stockholm we're also bringing our new stage design. This is going to be more of a show tha an ordinary concert, we actually drew a line over "Set list" the other day and added "Script" instead.

The best conditions for the music and the audience
We have during the past years become more and more careful when it comes to when and where we play, we want to give us, the music and the spectators the best conditions possible. That's why we're extremly glad to be playing at Debaser Medis that has as good conditions as we want and they have also given us the oppurtunity to let people under 18 in . together with at least one parent. We asked Debaser if we could do this and we are very happy that Debaser helpt us to fulfill this wish.
During our latest visit at Debaser Slussen we were welcomed by the most wonderful audience we've ever had. Now we and our audience are going to make these shows even better! We also have tried to keep the the ticket price down, so the tickets will cost 120 SEK + pre sale.

We will film and produce a live DVD on this gig!
Ww have hired a camera crew with five cameras, we are recording the sound on our own. We are directing the camera team and we will edit and cut the live DVD by our selves. So, we think it will be a special memory for those who comes to the gig. The DVD will be free to download on the internet when it's done.
This feels especially good to do since we have met alot of international friends, most from for example, Mexico, Japan and USA. Therefor it feels great to make this live DVD so we can give the oppurtunity to watch a nicely filmed and well played gig of Detektivbyrån.
Esthetically speaking when if comes to the light settings, the sound and the camera angles we want to work with in this show is very inspired of the live DVD "Bruce Springsteen - live in new york". The basics there are alot of white light and a huge crowd! We will do our utmost to make our DVD as great as that one! We have started co-operating with a light technician from the thetre Göta Lejon, Stockholm and he's going to help us with the design of the lights just to make this show work together with the cameras and the audience.

New songs
The crowd at Debaser will be the first ones to hear some of our new, unreleased songs and they will also hear new arrangements on old songs.

New instruments
Martin made his big debut at the P3GULD awards with the instrument Theremin that created a major hausse. At Debaser the Theremin will appear for the first time ever at an ordinary show. We will also use some instruments that we haven't used in a while and also an surprise instrument! That means: alot of instruments.

New vinyl records
We will release two new vinyl records that night, "Wermland" and "E18 Album" that is.

New outfit on stage
We have started using our self-designed stage clothes. They are not totally new, they were first shown at the Swedish grammy awards. The clothes are designed and sewed by Martin.

Here's some info of what we're up to in the future:

We've started our own distribution!
Instead of looking at bad and difficult deals regarding distribution abroad we have started doing it on our own and started a mail order that ships worldwide. You can find everything about this on our website and the distribution is runned by ourselves. This seemes to be something that our listeners likes, to have their orders shipped directly from us - without the classic middleman like a record company, record store or distributor. We give our buyers the chance to have the records signed and/or dedicated to someone or her/himself, something that the record companies hardly can offer.
On our orders, it shows that this is appreciated by our international listeners, during the last months we have gotten orders from Austria, Russia, Germany, USA, Australia, United Kingdom, Finland, Danmark, Canada, Greece, Sweden, France and Holland. Other fun things that will be in our shop in the future is a book with sheet music on our songs, the live DVD from Deabser Medis, and also music boxes playing our music and more, alot more. We are buying a house and moving together on the countryside!
We have got a loan from the bank and are currently looking for a house. In our house we will build a studio and make new music! This fells very good, we will have peace and the daily trip to the post office and the super market feels perfect. Read more about this on our website!

Spring 2009
There is a new era in the World of Detektivbyrån coming up!

Dear friends!

Yes! This is how we feel about our listeners, we feel like you are our friends rather than our fans.
In some way we know each other already, sharing the same affection and curiosity for music and we guess that in some way that makes us friends. And friends tell each other things so here we would like to tell you not a little bit, but a lot about our plans and intentions for the future. As we've already said, there is a new era in the World of Detektivbyrån coming up.
Yes, but in what way? In many ways! We are so happy to tell you that:

We are making a new Detektivbyrån album.
This is the most important bit of everything. Three months after releasing Wermland, it was on a snowy december day, we sat on L'Assasino, a nice restaurant in Gothenburg. There and then we grew so excited talking about new musical ideas that we decided that we needed to start working on a new record. We immediately gave it the working title "Beyond". That's what we call it now and that's the best way to describe our intentions with this record.

We have started to write songs and today we have about 35 scratch demos of new songs and we are so excited about them. At this time there's no time schedule at all for this album, the plan is to release it when it's done and we'll keep everyone updated on the progress. We have also started writing on a long list of new instruments we are planning to use on the new album. Both existing instruments and others that we need to build byourselves. To mention something, we have just tried out a Celesta from 1925(!). Celesta means heaven in Latin and it sounds just like that! We've also bought a Theremin which is nothing but lovely.

We have also been thinking about what would be the perfect place to record and that led us in on a big decision:

We are moving together in a house at the countryside.
Today we live in separate apartments in the centre of Sweden's next biggest city, Gothenburg.
It has been a nice time here but we need to find total workpeace to be able to top ourselves and make this recording as beyond as we want it. The houses we are looking at are really located far out in the almost wilderness. Everything is perfect there for creating music, quiet and calm and we can build our own studio exactly the way we want it. We will be very close to eachother, since we will be living in the same house we won't have to take public transports to meet up and do whatever, it will be more of a -"walking into Anders room and say hey i got this idea about "Burning Hot Beats" which we'll create using the sound of a matchbox"- thing. Since we are siblings this goes back to the time when we lived together at our parents house, always sitting in some room playing the 12 bar blues - Anders on electric bass and Martin on electric guitar taking turns in playing solos.

Theres just one hatch to all this right now - we haven't got the house yet. Not the bank loan to pay the house either. But we are working on it! We are planning to move in when summer starts, around June 1th. Maybe the first "Making of Beyond" - video will be about us travelling around and looking at different houses because:

We are making new "Making of" videos.
Just like we did for "Wermland" we will be making "Making of Beyond"- videos for Beyond.We will also be making new "Making Of Wermland"-videos! We have a lot of filmed material that we never got the chance to edit which we are planning to start editing into episodes now. Two new-old nice episodes you can expect is the "Trying out the perfect Glockenspiel" - episode and the "Building a Thumbstack Piano" -episode. (The piano used on the songs "Camping", "Honky Tonk Of Wermland" and "Partyland")

We are working on a technical solution to be able to play more outside Sweden.
Yes this is actually true and really great. We would love to play more in the US and in Europe and Japan and well, all over the world. Especially Mexico! The thing is that our instruments are so special that we need to bring them with us to every show, a guitar based band would just bring their guitars and the clubs would fix all the backline such as amps and drums. But we can not do that and that makes it hard for us to fly and play.

We have been forced to say no thanks to a lot of gig request from abroad cause it's so very expensive to fly our gear. So we are in fact looking at a new technical solution using smart electronics and small instruments with big hearts so that we are able to get the weight of everything down so that we can fly! Looking so much forward to be able to play live for you who live outside Sweden!

We are building a new home for us and our friends on the internet.
We are building a new website. But we hope to be able to make it a little bit more than just a website, we want to make it our home on the internet. And you are so welcome to come and visit! We are calling the site "The World of Detektivbyrån".  Except for having all the usual stuff presented in a nice and informative way, we also have plans for some key features:

- We are starting a combined mailinglist/supporter club which we call "Friends Of Detektivbyrån". Sign up for the mailinglist and you are automatically a member of "Friends Of Detektivbyrån".
We will work hard to make this mailinglist effective, for example when people sign up, they can state where they live, country and city, and we will be able to send them a special mail when we are playing in their town. The mailing list will be one of our most important channels to communicate with our friends all over the world. This mailing list is to be constructed and therefore not available today but if you send us an email only stating "mailinglist" in the subject to detektivbyran@gmail.com we will mail you and let you know when it's done!

- We are building a new mailorder webshop - runned by ourselves. This is the concept: We want to make it easy for anyone from anywhere to order our records or merchandise. To do this we have decided ..ing to distribute our records and merchandise worldwide, by ourselves. No record label or distributor or record store acting in between artist and listener, putting high-level prices and the artist gets nothing. We will look upon every order from our shop as a support, a donation for which we can give a nice gift (the ordered item!). By making everything totally by ourselves we'll be able to have the lowest prices and the best service, we'll personally pack and send the orders and we'll make every effort possible to make sure the buyer is 100% satisfied. Since it's our own band and our own name this is of course highly important to us.

Here..s some other plans for the shop:
- We will have free shipping worldwide, shipping included to everywhere, no hassle.
- Put out all our records on vinyl.
- Make a book with sheet music on our songs (many have aked for this!)
- Make new, good looking clothes displayed on human models with a supersmart system to make it easy knowing which size is right.
- We dream of making music boxes that play "E18"...
We will build the site slowly, starting super-super simple and work our way up over the time.

We need help.
We'll continue to do everything totally by ourselves, no record label or other major company are involved in our work. Though there's one thing you, our friends and listeners, do so much better than us. It's spreading the word about Detektivbyrån. From the start we have been so amazed that people are spreading the word about our music and how much that is helping us. In this new era in our lives and world we will be needing that help. We have been travelling a lot lately!
First we were in London and Paris, supporting the hardest working woman in showbiz – the ever so friendly Amanda Palmer! We had the best of times and even though it was pretty tough because we had to carry around our heavy equipment, we were treated so friendly by everyone in Amandas crew that it was a very warm and nice experience. Let..s not forget the Danger Ensemble; a nicer bunch of generous and talented actors will be hard to find! And thanks to all of you, who were at the Electric Ballroom to see Amanda, but who paid attention and gave us your love!

Paris was pure magic, we even had a day off and walked through Montmartre for hours. Of course we had a drink at the "Amelie café" and actually saw a man try to steal some clementines!
Divan du Monde is a wonderful venue with the nicest crew we ever met; merci beaucoup Gael & co!
And the Paris audience…wow, you were just great. We want to come back SOON.

Then we went to Denmark; we had shows in Ålborg and Copenhagen and both were terrific although we had quite a surprise at Vega in Copenhagen, when we discovered that the Lille Vega Stage was closed down for one month straight and we were supposed to play on the floor by the DJ booth! Though; our own Martin "MacGyver" Molin build a perfect stage out of SOFAS and Boom! we had a blasting show together with hundreds of nice Danes!
We have a question to you Danes: Where can we find warm food before 16.00 when we are in Denmark? We tried so hard in two different cities on our way between Ålborg and Copenhagen but all we ended up with was HUGE sandwiches with a lot of raw onion. We really wanna come to Denmark soon (Roskilde perhaps?) so, if you know how to do it, please help us out with this little food issue..!

Markan in Hässleholm is a very nice venue with some great folks taking care of everything.
We do enjoy working with professionals!
