Hello!

Meet Me In The Middle will be the last single from my current album, to be released on December 8th on 7" and Download. The 7" has a nice remix by David E Sugar (Kitsune) and the digital version also has a remix by Vincent Oliver and a half remix / half cover version of Think It's Love by Indurain.

PRE-ORDER / ORDER HERE:

I was waiting to finish the video before I posted about this single but it's been delayed because the internet and heating / hot water went off a few weeks ago in my freezing house so I was nomadic for a bit, then last weekend I got punched in the face by a stranger in Farringdon which was sort of distracting. Hopefully the video should be finished for the release on Monday although it'll be far too late for any TV deadlines by then so perhaps you can make it worth finishing by sending it to some friends or something?

Oh yes. On the subject of visuals, the cover illustration for MMITM was done by JIM STOTEN, an amazing illustrator who very kindly agreed to get involved in return for a giant jar of penny sweets. You can see more of is lovely work here: http://www.jimtheillustrator.co.uk/

After about 2 1/2 years of slowly putting it together bit by bit my first album finally came out yesterday - Hooray!

Can I suggest that if you'd like a copy on CD you order it from PURE GROOVE - my favorite independent record store. Played a very fun in-store there yesterday - thanks guys!

If you want it digitally the best play is probably Beat Port as you can get it from anywhere in the world (iTunes is UK only right now) and also the MP3s are 320kpbs rather than 128.

To celebrate the album being out there in the real world at last there will be a free entry gig at Corsica Studios in 2 weeks time - Tuesday Oct 14th. Tuesday - it's the new Thursday. Honestly.

Plus there's a new white vinyl 7" of Think It's Love which looks amazing. Also available (singed copies) from PURE GROOVE.

Hello!

I made some new friends on Tuesday doing an interview with Queens of Noise for their super fun BBC 6 Music show which can be listened to again here around 40 minutes in:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00dmfhx/

Plus the Guardian got all excited and basically said that the forthcoming single 'I THINK IT'S LOVE' is better than anything Led Zepplin and in fact most other bands in general have ever done. Which is Nice! LOOK HERE:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/sep/20/popandrock4

The album is out on iTunes now, guess I haven't made a fuss as I'm waiting until it's out on CD on September 28th to run around shouting about it at people in the street. So if you're in East London on the 28th look out!

There's a little interview with don't panic here:

http://www.dontpanicmedia.com/magazine/reason/sportsday-megaphone

It's pretty heavily paraphrased since the guy didn't have a tape recorder and I never used most of those words (or swore that much) but it's sort of accurate.

And I never called a band 'Deerhoof Rescue' - not even a made up one...

Current mood:  disappointed
Sorry to anyone who turned up to my set on Saturday only to find... WILL YOUNG.

I'm sure you're all aware of the mud related problems that beset the outdoor stages all weekend and basically he didn't want to play the bandstand anymore so I got bumped.

We spent the whole week leading up to the festival painting costumes for the dancers so obviously we were gutted not to be able to go on, but hopefully we're going to sort out a special album release party at the end of the month where we can put those costumes to good use.

Check back soon for details I guess...

Sorry again

x Hugh
