I can't fucking wait for the Fall honestly- it is when I feel at my most creative and when all the past pacificUV records have been recorded. There are tons of perfect Fall songs, but a few of my favorites are:
When The Day is Done by the legends
About 50 different Simon and Garfunkle songs
He Knows the Sun (the legends)
any eluvium song
What is your favorite Fall song?
hmmmmm. That is all I can think of now. Enjoy.
bye for now

I am currently taking a screenwriting class that has rejuvenated my love of film. The extremely hot weather recently has made me a homebody, and has encouraged my copious film watching habits. What follows are some of my favorite films I have seen in the past few months:
A Face in the Crowd- Sadly, when one hears the name Andy Griffith, he/she either thinks of the one dimensional bumpkin sheriff he played or, worse, Matlock. However, Griffith is far more talented than either of these roles suggests. The peak of his acting career and what he will be remembered for one hundred years from now, is the role he plays in this 1957 Eilia Kazan masterpiece about a charismatic drifter who gets a local radio show that becomes nationally popular.
The movie is a character study of fame and power and how one's populist intentions can easily be corrupted once large amounts of money and power come into play. Watch here a scene where Griffith's character explains how he will help sale an aspirin called Vitajex. He is charming, evil, and explosive in equal measures. One of the great acting performances I have ever seen on screen.
7th Continent- The Austrian director Michael Haneke is a household name to those who keep up with European art films, but sadly unknown the public at large, which is just as well as Haneke's films are extreme, cruel, and often violent. The 7th Continent, is Haneke's first film from 1989 and is based on the true story of a Austrian couple who killed themselves and their little girl for no apparent reason.
Rather than provide an explanation for their suicide, Haneke focuses on the dull, routine tasks we undertake each day that are mundane and can lead to alienation. The movie is sublte, powerful, and unforgettable, though not for the faint of heart. No movie better captures the suburban malaise and alienation of modern life. In this scene the family decides to systematically destroy all their possessions. What could have been a scene of defiance and liberation, is instead a scene of surrender and joyless action.

Hey guys, so a photo of mine I took while in Cuba a few years ago is up for sale right now on ebay to benefit a dear friend whose family was recently in a car accident. All proceeds go to helping to pay their medical costs. Anyway, if you like what you see, bid on it! The photo is huge, cool, and already framed!! Go here to view/bid.

hi again. it is amazing weather here in Portland, Oregon and I have been outside for a while neglecting my blogging duties amongst other chores. news,,,,hmm>,, Don't tell anyone but I am working at an advertising agency right now and it feels odd........I am working on OLD SPICE!!!!!!!! it is just freelance though. everyone needs to make a living i suppose, but my indie credit is probably now blown forever.
new music is coming but slowly. we are actually going to record this upcoming Sunday. My ambitions have outgrown my talent for the moment, and until the skill side catches up, I am afraid it might be a bit longer until music is released. we just want and need the next record to be mind blowing and different and sunny. enough of the 18 bpm nonsense.
we do have a new video which just premiered on the portland mercury website. you can watch it here. It will be up on youtube and myspace soon.
i hope everyone has a good summer. more to come soon perhaps.
love
