Only 3 months to go until Soul Companions is published...

...and I'm undergoing preparations for its birth into the world, like writing features for mags, organising interviews - including radio interviews. (Eeek!)

It will be a bit strange suddenly having to talk about the book in public. You see, I'm much better expressing myself with the written word than speaking. I'm one of those people who thinks of a great comeback line after the event has passed, or I wished I hadn't said something I did or even that I'd said something I didn't. I guess that's normal for many people, yet I'm a singer, so you'd think I had a natural affinity with oral expression. I suppose, in a way I do... give me a cup of coffeee and I'll talk until the cows come home (but it'll likely be a load of  bollocks, heh heh).

Still, I'm sure that whatever I say will be okay once I go with the flow.

Funny 'ol time of year, innit? In fact, it's been a funny 'ol year, full stop.

This year has particularly been one of delving into the secret mysteries of life as we know it and (not surprisingly) everything has changed because of it. EVERYTHING. I'm still living my life pretty much the same as I was this time last year, but seeing it all in a different light.  

This has its pros and cons, especially at this time of year. And that's tough when you've got three youngsters who are really excited about something you'd rather not celebrate. I want to have a celebration!!! But what am I celebrating???

the TRUE WORLD ORDER t-shirt

Had enough of being manipulated and controlled by the 'powers-that-be'? So have we, which gave us an idea for a t-shirt design.

The 'powers that be' often use ancient and sacred symbols, reversing them in order to disrupt their energy, so we thought we'd do the same to one of theirs...

On the dollar bill is found the symbol of a pyramid. This represents the system of power and control used in the world today - the people at the bottom are controlled by those on top, and so on and so on, until you reach the 'all seeing eye': one point, or force, of control (achieved by propoganda through the media, education, politics, etc). The banner underneath the pyramid reads "Novo Ordo Seclorum", which is latin for "New World Order"... basically, a fascist state.

On the TRUE WORLD ORDER t-shirt, the upturned pyramid represents the masses stepping out of this system of control, reclaiming their freedom and dancing in celebration. Note that the once 'all-seeing' eye is firmly shut. The rainbow represents a full spectrum of light and symbolises unity in diversity and enlightenment.

'Soul Companions' is not yet published, and I'm already starting to write my next book! This one's entitled 'Spirit Matters - Talking God with Modern-Day Legends'...
Whereas 'Soul Companions' was a collection of interviews with 45 shaman, seers, visionaries and sages, this book is a collection of interviews with legendary visionaries - including artists, musicians and others in the entertainment industry, talking about their spiritual experiences and beliefs.
My first interview in September was with David Icke - ex-footballer and 'conspiracy-theorist'. It was great meeting him... I'll blog about it soon :-)

It seems like a long way away, but seeing as time seems to be passing faster than usual these days, I thought I'd let you all know that I'm having a book launch for 'Soul Companions' on Friday April 18th in the 'round room' at Haverfordwest library, Pembrokeshire.

Psychic artists Patrick Gamble (www.patrickgamble.com) whose story is in my book, and Pembrokeshire's Angela George (www.healing-art.co.uk) will also be there - as will an exhibition of spiritual art and photography.
Of course, I will also be reading excerpts from my book... and (perhaps most importantly) there will be drinks and nibbles.

Hope to see you there... 6.30pm to 8pm.

I recently bought a domain name (the above) as an online community of Wisdom-Keepers that feature in my book. My intention is for this to be a  place where all us like-minded soul-seekers can meet and gain access to valuable resources and information.
You can subscribe to the newsletter and will automatically be informed of the forthcoming Soul Companions events - dates to be announced - where you'll be able to come and hear some of these people speak, as well as participate in workshops and sacred rituals. (Personally, this will be a wonderful opportunity for me to actually meet up with some of the inspiring souls I interviewed for my book... I can't wait!). So, if you're interested, please let me know, as it would be very handy to know how many people would be interested in attending events of this kind. I'll be hosting these events in the US and UK, starting in the summer/autumn of 2008.

I found out the other day that you can now pre-order Soul Companions online at Amazon!
It's very exciting to see my book listed up there, as it hasn't quite sunk in yet that I'm (nearly) an author... one puzzling thing that I can't for the life of me figure out is why the blurb on the Amazon.com website differs so completely from their .co.uk site. Personally I prefer the UK version - it's more how I'd like it to be but it still needs refining. Unfortunately, I doubt very much whether Amazon will be arsed to edit what's already been written. At this point you may concede that I'm being a tad anal about what appears to be a minor detail, but what is written in that tiny little paragraph is very imp-portant because it may determine whether anybody buys this book or not!!!!!!!!
By the way, as an author, I get around 50 pence PER BOOK SOLD. You see, the writer gets a percentage of the price the publisher sells the book at... not the RRP. Which means that Amazon and Stresco and the like are only selling their books at a fantastically discounted price because the publisher sells it to them at around one-third of the retail price in the first place.  The writer then receives a per-cent of whatever that price was.
Aint it SHOCKING?
I knew this before I wrote the book, though, so I've had a long time to get over it...
