Last night, my best friend Dabey had just jumped on the road with a truck loaded with his personal possessions, making the move from Tochigi to Osaka to move in with me. Not 20 minutes into the trip the truck suddenly caught on fire. Dabey pulled the truck over and seconds after that and the whole thing turned into a bonfire. Within minutes all of his things were reduced to a pile of ash. His computer. His passport. All his clothes. His bed. His fish. Fortunately, he was able to get out of there and save his own life.

That said, he's got to start from scratch. That's why I've set up this little Dabey Fire Relief Fund. Anything you might be able to contribute would help him out greatly. I lost everything in a fire once and that truly sucked. Fortunately I had insurance, but this is a totally different situation. He has no insurance. He's in Japan. And at the moment he has no job (he was coming to Osaka to do some interviews).

Anyway, below I've pasted some pictures of the truck from last night. Keep in that mind the back of that truck was full of his stuff at one time, before it all burnt to nothing. Anything you can donate will be appreciated greatly!

PS - I hear that you can't access outside links from blogs so I have the donate buttone also posted on this blog: http://jammypack.livejournal.com/93132.html
Paste it into your browser and you will see it.

Thank you for helping my friend!

Current mood:  excited

Tonight Dabey and I will be driving driving driving all the way to my new apartment in Takoyaki-ville. Then I will stay there and look for a couple jovs and Dabey will come back to complete his contract at the Big Banana. After that he'll come back and claim his room at our apartment and we'll be ready to rumbly.

Now is the time, if you've ever thought about coming to visit us in Japan, to come visit us in Japan. We're in Osaka, which has a few more things to see than a weird little gyoza statue. Gyoza-ville has had its time and place for me, and the experience has been fruitful, but it's now time to get back to the city where I belong.

Ya heard me, get your ass wiggling on over here! We're waiting for you!

Chu!
