Dear friends,
I just wanted to send out a BiG UP to Rhino from TRUE LiVE for plugging us last night during his interview on the Triple J show "Home & Hosed" ...
Yesterday i spent most of the day recording vocals for "Green Eyes" in the studio with KiNG CHARLiE and when 9pm came around i still hadn't have diner and realised that i didn't even own a Radio transistor that actually worked... So i found myself wondering down Brunswick street in Fitzroy in search of a place that would let me listen to the radio... I ended up in one of my favourite restaurant/bar called Gypsy Bar where they let me, a celebratory beer in hand, hanging out with the kitchen hand amongst the piles of dirty dishes, listen to the radio show just in time for the friendly push... After so many years working in hospitality in order to sustain my lifestyle, i found it quite ironic how this little adventure turned ou to be... All my worlds collided into one!
"If I left You Baby" was played nationally for the first time and I am very grateful to Ryan for making this happen... Much Respect!
Peace, Blessings and Much Love to All...

WOW!!! ... what a show this was... i felt a fair bit of pressure being the middle act to a sold out show at the Gershwin Room (Espy), especially having to perform after a fat sounding, crowd grooving, Blue King Brown... But i had wind of what kinda show Cody was about to perform so i felt like being the middle ground and do a stripped down version of my tunes... so no drums no bass no loud guitars... just me, sitting down with my strat & my wah-wah backed by Gideon on Rhodes and the beautifull SiBlings Candice and Rebecca (she rocked it ! it was her 3d show ever with me...) on BVs... i felt compelled and humbled by opening to Cody, i had to give it a real shot and sing and play my heart and soul out... i did what i did... and it felt great to see so many familiar faces in the front line singing along to my words... i never was able experience this until now... 7 long years... For those of you who saw the Cody ChesnuTT gig, i hope you had the patience and opened mind and heart to be part of the experience coz it was definitely worth the journey, the journey of "NOW"...
Jamming with Cody was strange... we did what we did... i had great fun and felt lots of love towards all my new melburnian family...
Hanging out with Cody in his band room was awsome... He is even more of a humble man in person, highly spiritual and probably one of the most soulfull person i ever met, with a kind-loving heart... i say that coz he let us eat his chicken wings and peanutt butter and jelly sandwiches... (no alcohool or drugs here... just pure H2O...) He definitely is at a different stage in his life and the Headphone Masterpiece tunes aren't a representation of what he is at the moment... He had lots to ask and talk about with our Candice, being pregnant and all... (he's a recent father...) but had attention for every body and remembered every one's name (there would have been about 15 people in the room) the singer from blue king brown (i think her name is Natalie, but please forgive me if i'm wrong...) sang him a song on his guitar we all sang along, clapped hands and took group pictures... i left the room with a heart full of love, a soul full of inspiration and restless mind... i was ready to celebrate... at 4 in the morning...
thank you for your support...
cody said 2 things to me: "Thank you for being part of the show" and "Keep plucking" ...
i'll do my best...
peace and much love to all...

OUR CHILD
It's the distance between you and i that's breackin' us Well i wish i could hold you and love just like i used to With my entire heart and soul... Yes, it's the distance between you and i that's breackin' us...
It's been so hard babe, to watch you go happy and free Now i've cried so much my eyes can't see what lies in front of me Do you ever think 'bout your past babe? and all the hearts you broke Why do things never last? Is it coz you're just like smoke? You're so thick baby, yet you dissipate so quick Yes you've dissipated so quick...
But you're with me wherever i go And the child we never had is with me wherever i go...
Yes, the child we never had
When a friend of mine passed way, you didn't stand by my side (no you didn't) You'd rather let it all go away babe and it kinda fucked up with my mind (yes it did) Maybe this was a chance for both of us to appreciate each other's company And yes life can be short for some of us, why did you have to leave me? Well we couln't live together no, now i just can't live without you babe I just can't live without you...
But you're with me wherever i go And the child we never had is with me wherever i go...
Yes, the child we never had
Do you think you disrecpected me babe, for leaving me at such a crucial time? You've let me down so low, how can you call yourself a friend of mine? Well now my love for you has bursted out of my chest (yes it did) And it's beating so strong between my hands, babe, will it ever rest? Well nothing's gonna heal my pain unless you come back to drive me insane Why don't you come back to drive me insane...
And you're with me wherever i go And the child we never had is with me wherever i go yes our child! our child! our child! Is with me wherever i go...
The child we never had
Yes, it's the distance between you and i...
that's breackin' us...
Our child...
Our child...
Our child...
Our child...

well i thought it was time for me to officially explain what SiB is all about... so, here you go:
SiB is my name. The first 3 letters of my surname: Siboulet. It actually was my French grandfather Andre's nicname. Even though everybody used to call him Teuteur... i think a little kid in the family wasn't able to call him Doctor (he was a Doctor specialised in STD) so the name stuck to him... You can imagine i was a little confused when my French Grand Ma "Minette" (for Monique..., minette means cute female pussycat...) asked me to sign my paintings SiB in memory of Teuteur who passed away in the 1980's. A sort of homage to this very special man that is still to this day strongly missed from members of my family, but also friends and ex patients all around the world... He had this amazingly powerful charisma and presence about him...
But why SiB? Well Minette told me this story about how Teuteur got arrested and sent to jail by the Gestapo during the WWII for arranging the bombing of train tracks and helping out some guys from the Resistance to save a handfull of Jewish families. And his codename was sib. People in jail called him Sib. I am not sure how long he stayed in there, but i like to think that he escaped and kept on helping out people... which he actually did as a doctor for the rest of his life... My strongest memory of him is when he once told to take care of the future generations... He said it was all about the future generations and trying to make this chaotic world a better place for them...
Both my father and grandfather were Doctors (they shared a practice in Paris). I like to think of myself as a sort of a healer... I ain't no doctor but playing music makes me feel so good, it heals all my pains and sorrows, the joy is palpable and that energy is definitely transmitable... But i think my dad Toto (for Antoine, English speaking people call him Tony) is a frustated musician that never really came out of the closet. Sort of... He played saxophone and was the conductor of the traditional brass band of the medical school from Dijon (yes, where they also make mustard...). The tradition dates back to the Napoleon era. It involved a lot of sing-along happy tunes mainly depicting quite sexy and sexist stories of sexual encounters of all sorts...and i MEAN ALL SORTS!!! The band apparently also took along animals everywhere they went: ducks, gooses, sheep, chickens, etc...they all dressed up wildly and i believe the tuba player often performed butt naked... it was the 70's man! Once they even built a giant erected penis on wheels for some big outdoor party with other brass bands from other towns. The cops turned up to close it down and apparently at one stage the band was running after the cops around a fountain, whilst playing, with the giant penis aming directly at the officers. The cock had a handle that was connected to a fire exctinguisher... all i can say is that the cops weren't happy about that...
My dad also used to play the boogie woogie so well on our family piano back in the days...Mainly at like diner parties when he was a little drunk, singing, screaming, tapping his feet real loud and smoking cigars... He totally inspired me and made me wana jam with him with an electric guitar... which we did when i turned 14... My mum, Eileen tried to teach me piano earlier for about 3 years. I hated it. i just wanted to play the guitar man! I turned into such a stuborn cranky little shit and i didn't like the classical music stuff she was teaching me... (so sorry mum...) i wanted to be like Elvis, man, the KING of rock'n'roll played guitar not piano!
Anyways, back to SiB. The reason why i use capital S and B and have a small i stuck in the middle is because not only it looks good but also because it reminds me of my grandfather. He was a Beautiful Soul and "i" is I... I am surrounded by Soul and Beauty... the world is a beautiful place with beautiful and soulful souls all around... just open your eyes a little... and if you're not happy with what you see, try to make things change a litlle out of love... not only for yourself but also for the future generations...
Peace, Respect and Much Love To All...
ps: my dad also calls me "Le Poud" (from pudding) because i was such a fat litlle baby that adored eating so much... Some Aussies keep on trying to call me Ados, Adoze and even Aids which i fucking hate... and i also hate when people call me Frenchie coz i'm not just French I'm also Australian... (it's kinda strange how when I'm in France, people think of me as an Australian and when i'm in Australia people think of me as a Frenchman...). So please call me Adrien and if you dig what i do and what I'm about, you may call me SiB... it's up to you...
