Very Important Plectrums!

Inspired by the Ben Sherman musical heritage and plectrum logo, 'Very Important Plectrums' is an auction of plectrums from iconic artists, with all proceeds going to charity. Both Rick and Francis have donated signed plectrums for the event.

Each band's donation, together with the hand written message that accompanied it, will be beautifully presented in a frame to create a very special piece of memorabilia.

Bidding starts on 11th October 2009, the auction with Quo's plectrums will run from Oct 25th to Nov 1st 2009.

'Pictures - Live At Montreux 2009' DVD

'Pictures - Live At Montreux 2009' is released by Eagle Rock Entertainment in the UK on October 12th 2009.

The release is is three formats: Blu-ray [Cat. No. ERBRD5035], DVD [Cat No EREDV756], and Deluxe Edition DVD [Cat. No. EREDV758].

The Deluxe Edition of the release includes the full concert and interview footage from Montreux but also boasts the extended version of the new Biography Channel documentary on 40 years of Status Quo, a single CD of highlights from the Montreux performance and a substantial booklet.

It's Christmas Time!

Quo's first ever Christmas single is released on December 1st on Universal.

The single will be available in three formats: CD single, Vinyl 7" and as a download. The CD single and vinyl includes tracks from the Live Here Now Live At Oxford recording.

The Bonhams Auction

To mark the fortieth anniversary of their first hit single, 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men', and raise money for The Prince's Trust, Quo hosted a star-studded auction at Bonhams on Wednesday November 5th, supported by Coutts.

Fifty renowned musicians, artists and stars took up a challenge from The Prince's Trust and created their own versions of classic Quo single/album covers which were auctioned raising a total of £112,210 for The Trust.

Personalities as diverse as Brian Wilson, Sir Tom Stoppard, Andrew Marr, Alice Cooper, Fiona Phillips, Brian May, Nick Mason, Sir Steve Redgrave, Harry Hill, Chris Tarrant, Rolf Harris, David Shepherd, Chelsea and Liverpool FC and the cast of Coronation Street contributed works. The master of ceremonies was Paul Gambaccini.

Pictures - 40 Years Of Hits was released on November 3rd through UMTV on an array of formats including: 4 CD 'EarBook', 3 CD (featuring DVD and rarities), 2 CD, USB and Digital - offering differing configurations of content.

The first week UK chart position of number 8 for the week to 9th Nov makes it Quo's first top ten album since Don't Stop in Feb 1996. When Quo release their first ever Christmas single "It's Christmas Time" on December 1st they will have released an incredible 75 UK singles and the 4 CD format will offer for the first time ever remastered versions of all the original radio edits of Quo's singles on one package.

His first book "A Romance with Art" was published with a forward by HRH the Princess Royal and to celebrate his 60th birthday his second book "Drawn to Life" was published. So the idea was to try and depict 12 gold bars, in a musical sense. Having studied art at school, Matthew still enjoys drawing "but painting is another thing. Currently the glamorous star of BBC Sports coverage, fronting the acclaimed BBC 1 sports magazine show, Inside Sport, and presenting the Gabby Logan show on Sunday mornings for BBC Radio 5 Live, Gabby has also made noteworthy appearances on Match of the Day, covering for Gary Lineker, and was one of the main anchors for the BBC's coverage of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. www.doosport.com/people/gabby Lot No:25 Andrew Marr Ma Kelly 's Greasy Spoon Andrew Marr is the former political editor for the BBC, who went on to host the acclaimed BBC 1 weekly political programme, Sunday AM – now better known as The Andrew Marr Show. He first found fame, however, in the 1960s alongside fellow Merseyside performers Mike McGear and John Gorman in the musical comedy group The Scaffold, whose most famous song. Her third studio album 'Pictures', released in October 2007, has continued that success and Katie is now the biggest-selling female artist in Britain and Europe. www.katiemelua.com Lot No:31 Rick Parfitt Never Too Late Rick Parfitt may be many things – top guitarist, songwriter and singer, racing car enthusiast, boat captain and selfless bar-side raconteur – but expert fine artist is perhaps not one of them. Nevertheless, he took the task of coming up with a painting for this project with his usual hearty aplomb. Indeed, he went through at least four different canvases before finally coming up with a Quo-related theme he felt truly reflected his own present state of mind. The result: Never Too Late – a painting depicting his newfound family: wife Lindsay and bouncing baby twins, Lily and Tommy. www.statusquo.co.uk Lot No:32 Terry Pastor Untitled A renowned figure whose paintings feature in private collections around the world, including those of film director Roman Polanski and international designer Roman Ford Coppola, British artist Terry Pastor has also had his paintings exhibited in galleries in London, New York, Munich and Amsterdam, and has won several awards for his work including two Art Directors of America awards.
