Matthew Letley 12 Gold Bars
Quo Drummer, Matthew Letley: "The title, 12 Gold Bars, is a Quo album title and came about after my wife Valerie suggested that I paint some actual music, maybe one of the riffs to one of the Quo songs, and I just took it a bit leftfield. So the idea was to try and depict 12 gold bars, in a musical sense. Having studied art at school, Matthew still enjoys drawing "but painting is another thing. Once I had the initial thought it wasn't too bad."

Indeed, he went through at least four different canvases before finally coming up with a Quo-related theme he felt truly reflected his own present state of mind. The result: Never Too Late – a painting depicting his newfound family: wife Lindsay and bouncing baby twins, Lily and Tommy.

Earlier this year they followed-up that huge success with their second album 'Join With Us'. Their painting, entitled Q for "obvious" reasons, came about after having met Status Quo several times. "On one of these occasions we informed them that, like many bands, we sometimes finish a show and go straight from the stage to the tour bus (engine running) thus leaving the venue before the crowd have even realised the gig is over.
