{Apologies for posting this a bit late--but there's still time for you to catch our last show of the month!  It's going to be a good one... ~Mimi DeMure}

I hope you're all enjoying the hot weather that has finally come to town!  We've got a couple of events coming up that won't help cool you off, but will certainly be a good excuse to come in from the sun!

Monday, September 7: Hubba Hubba Revue at the Uptown
San Francisco's favorite monthly cabaret/burlesque extravaganza has its weekly stint in Oakland.  Finish off your Labor Day weekend with some naked ladies!  Twilight Vixen Revue will be showing alongside many other Hubba Hubba stars.  At the Uptown in Oakland - 2 blocks from the 19th street BART station (remember, the Bay Bride will be closed).  Doors at 9pm, show at 10pm.  Only $5!

Friday, September 11: Rock Strip 'n Roll at the Paradise Lounge
An eclectic mix of rock bands and burlesque dancers!  Heavy Hindenburg (a Led Zeppelin cover band), The Gun n' Doll Show (rock band) and Live Evil (hard rock band) will all be playing separate sets, with burlesque intermissions by Tit 4 Tat, Barbary Coast Burlesque, and Twilight Vixen Revue!  Paradise Lounge in San Francisco.  Doors at 9pm, tickets $10.

Thursday, September 17: Premiere of the 2009 IXFF Independent Erotic Film competition
Step into elegance and enter the Pleasure Lounge upstairs at the Castro Theatre, where the drinks are cold, the dancers are hot, and guests spin to win free prizes to the sounds of live jazz and sultry burlesque by Twilight Vixen Revue! Then head downstairs to see what’s hot as IXFF finalists compete for the audience choice award and $1,500. The screening will be hosted by indie film queen and drag celebrity extraordinaire, Peaches Christ, along with the fabulous Dr. Carol Queen, Ph.D.  PRE-PARTY 7:00 – 8:00 pm, SCREENING: 8:00pm; $10 Pre-party, $10 Screening; Castro Theatre, 429 Castro Street in San Francisco.  See www.gv-ixff.org for more info.

Get to Know Your Vixens:
We have a burlesquing virgin in our midst!  We have expanded our Vixen family to encompass one more lovely lady.  Jasmine Tease, lover of chocolate, dresses, and organic vegetable growing, will now be joining us onstage.  She's performed from Dallas to DC and all over the Bay, in tap shoes, pointe shoes, and sometimes no shoes!  This will be her first t-strap affair, and her first run with pasties, so make sure you come give her a warm welcome - it's cold up there with no clothes on!

Speaking of dancing on other stages, were you at the San Francisco Drag King Contest this year?  You would have seen our own Mimi de Mure as her alter-ego Mickey Finn, performing with beloved Mr. de Mure as Genie to the Kinks song "Lola" (an homage to our dearly departed Lola la Mae?  Possibly...)  Despite it being their first time competing, they were 2nd runner up!  We couldn't be more proud.

As for the rest of us, we are costuming our little fingers down to the bone over a new extravagantly spectacular display.  Just wait until you see what head seamstress Cherry Lix and songstress Ivanna Spanking have in mind for you!  And be sure to send some birthday wishes to myself and Mimi de Mure, as we are both September babies.

See you from the stage!

Dearest friends and fans,
What a whirlwind Pride weekend! Thanks to all the fans who came out to see us dance. Maybe you even caught a glimpse of 8 pink-caped Vixens arriving at Dolores Park on the back of motorcycles before the Dyke March? It was a sight to behold.

TVR in Curve Magazine
Twilight Vixen Revue loves Dr. Betty Sullivan of Betty’s List (www.bettyslist.com) so much that we simply had to attend all her birthday events...and were captured in the act by Curve Magazine! Check out our photos at Orson in April:
Or pick up the July/August issue of Curve, find us on page 15.

Behind the Scenes with the Vixens
It breaks my heart just to write this...with bittersweet reluctance, we’re saying goodbye to our dear, dazzling Lola La Mae! Lola has brought so much talent, dedication and humor to the troupe over the past two years. We love her dearly and are all in complete denial that we're losing our amazing blonde bombshell. Saved only by the fact that we know she’s marrying such a fabulous woman and that new adventures await her in Boston can we even bear to let her go. In July we’ll celebrate her wedding and then, uhm, bid her farewell. We’ll miss you, Lola!

Please let us know if you’d rather not receive our news.
See you from the stage,
Ophelia Love

Happy Spring!

After a busy busy March, the Vixens are thrilled to focus their energies on a few special shows this month.  Come check out George Michael and Victorian underwear enthusiasts (albeit not necessarily in the same place) with us!

Friday and Saturday, April 18 & 19: Make it Big: A Wham! Tribute Show

That’s right, two entire evenings devoted to a classic boyband!  Twilight Vixen Revue is joined by out-of-state burlesquers Miss Indigo Blue and Pidgeon von Tramp (of Miss Exotic World 2007 troupe winners the Von Foxies) all the way from Seattle, as well as local burlesquers such as Simone de la Getto and Jukie Sunshine.  Each drag, dance or burlesque act will feature one of George Michael’s early creations.  Your inner 80’s teenager demands you go!  Doors at 6pm, show at 7pm, at the LGBT Community Center in San Francisco (1800 Market Street).  $10-15, no one turned away.

Friday, April 25: Costume Con
Join the Vixens at the Friday night social opening event at San Jose’s annual Costume Con.  Veronica Velvet is whipping up some special Victorian Underwear costumes to match the theme - don’t miss out!  At the Doubletree San Jose Hotel; see website for more info: http://www.cc26.info/main.php?section=events&page=social

Backstage with the Vixens!

After a particularly exciting New Orleans show, Penny Whistle, Cherry Lix and Bella Peppers gave "April Showers" a new meaning!  When it was time to change costumes, the three Vixens found themselves covered in various shades of metallic body paint...and what better way to clean off fast than to have another Vixen lend a hand!  I bet the art gallery never knew you could squeeze three soapy Vixens into the one shower stall...

Our smitten Vixens are moving along well with their misters...Mr. la Mae picked up a swank new piece of jewelry for our Lola, and today is Mr. & Miss Velvet’s one year anniversary!  In other family news, Baby Bottoms still insists on staying in the womb.  Looks like someone likes attention just like his mama!

Daisy Delight has been busy bringing us through the Gay Men’s Chorus show with bigger and better choreography and more precision than ever before.  And when she’s not revamping our can-can (wait ’til you see it now!), she’s leading 6am triathlon training runs.  You know us Vixens, we just can’t sit still!

Hope to see you soon!
Things in the Vixen world are still going strong, here in our second year of fabulousness.  Keep us posted if you hear about fun events that could use a touch of our charming aesthetic!

See you from the stage!
