One of our fans from Macon comments:
"We went to the Cherry Blossom festival at Central City Park last night. We were about to leave and Paxton says "Mom, I want to hear the band." We aren't in a hurry so we go take a seat. Paxton is on the front row jammin' out. The lead singer is Joshua Golden. He is the guy who wrote the quote on my headline thing. He wants to give away two cds..Paxton jumps up and runs up there and gets one. The whole rest of the time they played Paxton was entralled. It's like one of those moments when you look back and say "when I was five I heard this local band at the Cherry Blossom Festival and from that moment I knew I wanted to be a star." It was cool...the guys in the band were awesome..we took a pic with Joshua Golden..came out blurry but oh well. So, if ya get a chance..golden is on myspace...they rock because they took the time to talk with Paxton. Even though he is only five..it made his night. He even liked them better than the tigers."

Well, U2 got the jump on us and released their 3D movie experience. That's great and all, but our video is cool too. Check it out at goldentheband.com. We will even send you the 3D specs you need to check it out.
We're gonna take Bono and the Boys down. It's a 3D war now!

Hi everyone - Sky from [golden] here with an update on the recording. First let me say that we already miss playing out - playing live for you is always a blast, and we're really looking forward to getting back onstage this spring! We'll be playing in more places, more often than ever before, with a whole CD of new songs! We've gotten settled into the studio and are busy working on new material at the moment, and we're all excited at how it's developing. We're having a blast experimenting with new sounds, new styles, and new ways to capture the spontaneity of performing live. Look for the new CD to be funkier, more intense, and better sounding than you've ever heard [golden] before. It's too early to say exactly what songs are going to make it onto the disc, but "Shine" (which just got released on 3D Video) is only the beginning. Jerry is in India at the moment on a musical pilgrimage (disguised as a work trip), and he's already hinted that he's bringing back some very cool instruments to add to the mix. I've been exploring the possibilities of a classic vintage keyboard, and Todd is working up some rhythmic ideas that are going to redefine "groove." Josh and Adam keep turning out songs that are simply top notch, and it looks like we're going to have a CD that will knock you off your feet! So while we're nestled away in our quiet studio with headphones on, I want to say thanks to everyone for supporting us - I know you've waited patiently for the new CD, and it won't be much longer. :) I promise that the new songs will make it all worthwhile... [sky]

Well, fans, as you may have noticed there are no gigs posted after Dec. 20, 2007. We're not breaking up, and we're not looking for a new lead singer, so let's quell those rumors now. We are taking a break for a few months to finish writing material for the album follow-up to "...you, and everything..." Look for new tunes at the shows and a whole new album in early summer. In the meantime, the 3-D video we shot for the first single, "Shine" will be available soon via the ole' Intranet. (Yeah, that's right, the InTRAnet). Look for it soon.
Happy Holly Daze from [golden]!!

alright ya'all -- if you were at The Five Spot on Saturday night October 20th, you got to share one of the coolest, most fun evenings with [golden] that any of us has ever experienced. We owe YOU bigtime for the participation and recycling the energy and fun back to us so we could continue to throw down on that soundtrack.
Mad props to Brandon Ross, puppet designer and principal puppeteer for the evening - are you kidding me? a Gimp sock puppet? :-) Well done Brandon!
For those of you who weren't there or privvy otherwise, GOLDEN performed the Pulp Fiction soundtrack from start to finish, mixed with puppets of the characters performing the talking viniettes in between songs.
Thank you ALL for a special night and stay tuned for the encore performance of this night in the coming months!
... they don't know what the fuck a quarter pounder is - they got the metric system ...
cheers, GOLDEN www.goldentheband.com

... deep in the heart of texas ... was [golden] when we headlined the outdoor stage at The Texas Rock Fest in Austin, TX. We performed Saturday night 3/17 and we have audio and video we brought back to show you as well! Check this out ...
Music video director Adam Brewer wanted to bring an Austin based festival back to its roots and showcase some of the best undiscovered talent in the burgeoning Texas alternative scene. By charging just $8.00 a night and hosting the festival in the middle of the madness on Austin's historic 6th Street, he was sure the festival would be noticed, and it was. Now in its eighth year, the festival has received attention from bands all over Texas and around the country. "Some of the most original bands from Texas and the region, all together for a fraction of the cost of the South by Southwest Music Conference" Kludge Magazine 19 Jan 2005

golden] hit the road March 15th bound for Texas -- we headlined the Texas Rock Fest in Austin, TX on Sat. night 3/17. On the way out there, we played shows in New Orleans and San Marcos, TX. The show we played in New Orleans was at the very popular Le Bon Temps Roule in the heart of Uptown. This place is a classic New Orleans dive bar, but 100's of people packed it in elbow-to-elbow to see the music. Following [golden] was one of the quintessential brass bands around the south, The Soul Rebels! It was about 110 degrees in Le Bon Temps by the time the Rebels went on. Luckily they were serving cold drinks.

In 1993 (or '92? whatever ... early 90's) I saw Big Head Todd & The Monsters at the main gymnasium on campus at Penn State. Opening for them that night were The Ugly Americans and some band called The Dave Matthews Band. I was really into Bittersweet at that time and when I bought tickets, I listened to some other Big Head Todd stuff and really dug it. I was digging on Dave Matthews some then too.
I guess the way the story goes is Big Head Todd and Dave Matthews Band were trading off who was the headliner on this tour, and BHTM happened to be the headliner the night I saw them.
Anyway, Until recently I didn't think I'd have a chance to see them again anytime soon, let alone meet them or play a show with them in Atlanta. That, of course, has all changed. [golden] is the opener for Big Head Todd & The Monsters at The Roxy on 2/8.
I want to thank Ric Zampatti, Production Manager for BHTM, for being a pleasure to work with and for choosing [golden] as the opener for the Thursday night show. We could not be more pumped to play an amazing set, gearing up a sold out crowd at The Roxy to see BTHM.

To all our fans: we need you and want you ALL big time for this one! [golden] is going to throw down the best set you've ever seen us play, we're going to have the full horn section with us that night and The Roxy is just a sweet place to see any show! Tell your friends all about this show and tell them to tell their friends and their friends friends about it too. Get your tickets early! This show is going to sell out.
see you at the next show ...
