Summer's here :) So tell us about it so far!

1. Latest you've stayed out: about 12 AM

2. Favorite new person you've met this summer:  My hubby's sister's kids. I have just met them and they have grown into wonderful boys.

3. Thing you're lookin forward to the most: I was looking forward to my B'day but as it has gone now, nothing seems to be on the horizon.

4. You've spent the most time with who: kids and family

5. Favorite summer song: None. I mostly hear movie music and can't recall a summer song at the moment.

6. Done anything you wish you hadn't yet: Just had a fight with someone  and am already regreting it.

7. What did you do last night: went shopping in the evening and re-read Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.

8. Favorite thing to buy durin the summer: Just love those sales. Just bought those lovely cool lawn fabrics and sandals.

9. Favorite summer food: Cold, cold mango shakes

I felt a need to blog simply to express my wonder at the fact that the first half of 2007 is already coming to an end. Didn't I just celebrate the New Year, um, yesterday?

The sheer speed at which I feel the days pass me by is not helped by the fact that I just keep losing my sleep running after one kid or the other. Where has my life gone? I am suddenly feeling old and cranky. Does that mean I am a bad person? I hope not.

Sometimes I look in the mirror and I don't believe that I have the title of 'mom' now.   My reflection shows someone's sister, someone's wife and someone's daughter. Even after two children it's still hard to comprehend that I am a mother.  Me!  A mom!   

It's just so surreal and wonderful.

Come to think about it, I thought I was non-existent till Sierra decided to tag me. I'll post this on my regular livejournal, too.

RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME:

1) My greatest dream is to become a surgeon someday. 

2) Sometimes I go on ebay and look for all the things I would love to buy. I waste loads of time on this but I would love to have a decorated nursery and a small dream house. If I get a chance, I would have a small library at home with a rocking chair.

3) I want to purchase every designer outfit I see even if it is way out of my price range. I have a great eye for colour and design and I do a lot of my clothers. I love mixing and matching my kids clothes also.  

4) The Full House series, Baby Sitters Club Series, Enid Blyton books are amog my fav. books. I always wanted to fill out those little forms at the end that promised memberships to their respective clubs but since I always got them late, I couldn't. I still regret this. All these books are still there on my keeper shelf.

5) I love laughing and children group around me wherever I go. On my wedding day all the children who were invited constantly came to shake hands with me as they loved the 'laughing bride'. Even after 4 years, some of them still remember that. 

6) I am very strong in my beliefs and I do pray every day. This is one way I find peace within myself.

7) I would love to attend a RT convention www.rtconvention.com and subscribe to RT Magazine but since I live too far away I don't think that I ever would. Some of my friends used to collect stuff and send it to me but as life happened many have sccttered away.

8) I feel very strongly about social issues including domestic abuse, child abuse, abortions and other prevalent evils.

I actually kept my Mammogram appointment. I was met with, "Hi! I'm Belinda!" This perky clipboard carrier smiled from ear to ear, tilted her head to one side and crooned, "All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown. Everything clear?"

I'm thinking, "Belinda, try decaf. This ain't rocket science".

Belinda skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors.

Call me crazy, but I suspect a man invented this machine. It takes a perfectly healthy cup size of 36-B to a size 38-LONG in less than 60 seconds. Also, girls aren't made of sugar and spice and everything nice.... its Spandex! We can be stretched, pulled and twisted over a cold 4-inch piece of square glass and still pop back into shape.

With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, "Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?"

Fine, I answered. I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck and finish me off?

My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other boob wedged between those two pieces of square glass) when we heard, then felt a zap! Complete darkness and the power went off!

"What?" I yelled.

"Oh, maintenance is working. Bet they hit a snag" Belinda headed for the door.

"Excuse me! You're not leaving me in this vise alone, are you?" I shouted.

Belinda kept going and said, "Oh, you fussy puppy the door's wide open so you'll have the emergency hall lights. I'll be right back!"

Before I could shout, "NOOOO!" she disappeared. And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl, maintenance "en extra ordinaire, found me, half-naked and part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life and the other part smashed between glass! After exchanging polite "Hi, how's it going?" type greetings, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked, to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off.

Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible. "Uh, yes, yes I did thanks."

"You bet, take care", Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the line at the grocery store.

Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin and making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said. "Oh I am soooo sorry! The power came back on and I totally forgot about you! And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?"

And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps.....
