After 3 years serving the Jekyl campaign, Shane has made the difficult
decision to move back to Ireland due to his own personal reasons.
Drumming auditions immediately took place to find a replacement and it
was an Australian this time to step up and fill the void. John Sankey
(Devolved), an extremely talented drummer joined the ranks of the
Jekyl army mid October and has already played 4 successful and
explosive shows, his first being the world famous Whisky a Go Go.
November 25th sees Jekyl playing our first ever acoustic set,
supporting the legendary Hollywood rockers L.A. Guns on the Sunset
strip. Initially apprehensive, we sat down and jammed out some of our
songs and with some adjustments here and there, turns out were a force
to be reckoned with unplugged too!!
Along side that we are recording a 4 track demo for you all, so anyone
who hasn't got to listen to our new songs live or indeed those of you
who have been requesting some more recorded material, hold out a
little longer, we have some new ,ear blistering tracks coming your
way. Face your Fears just might have a video coming out for it early
2010 also, so keep an eye on the TV.
So as we draw closer to the end of 2009, Jekyl would like to thank
everyone for their continued support, and well wishes. See you all
back in Ireland in December for a pint !
Until then... Fist to the air and Rock On my metal friends...
Paul

Its been a busy few weeks.
Jekyl have been working hard the past few months, spreading the name and adding more people to the ranks. We've been playing anywhere and everwhere to show this town what we're all about. Also, a good friend of Jekyl's, Jeff Solema has finished a music video for the ong Life be sure to cheeck it out at,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52OOogl8TYc
Metal Mayhem. Last week Tom, Shane, and Dave headed into the desert of San Bernadino to see some of the best names in metal music to date. The stage was graced with the likes of , Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine and many more. To top it off, we got to spend the day sitting around and hanging out in the VIP area where we got to meet and hang out with Howard Jones - Killswitch Frontman and Matt Tuck - frontman for Bullet. It was a great day that filled us all with inspiration. Be sure to check out the pics.
Whisky A Go Go. This week saw us playing back in the Whisky. This time playing support to CJ Romone of The Romones. When we arrived at the Whisky we caught the end of CJ's two hour sound check and from the sound of that, we knew we'd be in for a good night. We hit the stage around 9:30pm and played like we never have before. CJ came on just after us and blew the place apart. Sharing the stage with him was an honor that we won't forget to soon.
Bebo Quiz Be sure to check out the Bebo quiz about the band we posted recently!

JEKYL become The Whisky A Go Go’s International House band.
We received big news at the JEKYL house this week. Yesterday
it was officially announced via the ‘L.A. Weekly’ that JEKYL are now The International
House Band for The World Famous Whisky A Go Go. We are proud as hell to have been given this opportunity
from a venue with such great history.
We would like to express many thanks to Celina, Tisa, and
all the staff at The Whisky that have made us so welcome.
Located on the legendary Sunset Strip, the rock n’ roll
scene in Los Angeles was born when The Whisky started operation. From rock to
punk to heavy metal, the club stood at the forefront of many musical trends.
The Whisky has played an important role in many musical careers, especially for
bands based in Southern California. The Byrds, Alice Cooper, Buffalo
Springfield and Love were regulars, and The Doors were the house band for a
while. It has been home to bands such as, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Motley Crue,
and many more. The Whisky is now home to JEKYL, and it’s great to be a part of
its history.
Also in the JEKYL house this week we have some new house
mates. Irish band, Mike Got Spiked have moved in with us while they try to push
their music as well. With that said, MGS also introduced us to another Limerick
based band called We Should Be Dead. Now with three bands in L.A. flying the
Irish flag, the music scene in L.A. is set to be dominated by talented Irish
acts.
On a final note, this week we saw the views on our Flashrock
video hit the 6,400 mark and it’s still rising every day. If you still haven’t
seen it get on to the Flashrock site and check it out.

As the weeks roll on!!
The last few weeks here in L.A. have been quite busy to say the least. One thing that we got up to was the recording of “Sunrise” and “Side By Side” with Flash Rock radio. It was a great night and we all had a blast doing it. Thank you to all who was involved that night, and thank you to everyone who voted for us. Without you, it wouldn’t have happened.
Check out the video at,
http://www.flashrock.com/tv/
We also got to meet some more “rock stars” on our travels through Hollywood. Shane got to meet yet another famous drummer Stephan Perkins from Jane's Addiction, Paul got to meet Jimi Hendrix’s brother Leon Hendrix, and Tom got to meet L.A. Guns guitar player Tracii Guns. On Thursday April 23rd Paul and Tom were lucky enough to bump into Jessica Alba while grabbing a coffee on Sunset strip. They also managed to get their hands on VIP tickets for the Carcass reunion for the metal fest in Anaheim and ran into their buddy Kerry King again..says their new studio album is awesome!! Exodus put on a savage show for support too, very cool day!!
Things are starting to come together now. We have a number of shows on our calendar for the coming months, including another show at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in June. That promises to be even better than the last. In May we have a show on a Marine Corps Base called Camp Pendleton which is right on the beach. Where we will playing to over two thousand Marines and their family and friends. This is set to be one hell of a show. So as you can see the shows are coming in and L.A. is learning that Jekyl is force not to be reckoned with.
Keep an eye on the blog’s and pictures for more updates.

Jekyl visit the Playboy Mansion. It takes a lot to get a band out of bed at 6AM, after getting in from a show at 3AM.
We drove towards Sunset to meet up with our new buddies Bobby, Shelia and their niece Mandy, and then headed onto one of Hollywood's greatest haunts.
None of us were really sure what to expect as we headed through Beverly Hills to one of the most famous addresses in California (if not the world), and as we passed through the gates and read the sign 'Playmates at Play' we knew it was well worth getting out of bed for. Jekyl had just arrived at The Playboy Mansion.
We pulled into the court yard outside the front door, parked up, and practically kissed the ground.
It's pretty hard to contain yourself, when you know you are surrounded by some of the greatest looking women in the world, buried deep inside the mansion.. it was early so the bunnies were pretty much fast asleep. Trying to wake them crossed our minds but we thought better of it.
We were brought on a full guided tour of the mansions surrounding grounds.
We started with the perfectly manicured gardens, and wishing well where Hef got married.. twice
Then we hit up Hef's games room, which has arcade machines, Playboy pinball games, black jack tables, a player piano, jukebox, bedrooms, copies of playboy scattered everywhere, and some of the rooms just had mattresses as the floors... Paul thought that was genius.
Then onto the tennis courts, and the back yard complete with trampoline where the bunnies bounce the days away. There were peacocks, and flamingos scattered everywhere!
We were brought into the famous grotto, infamous in Rock N' Roll history, and warned the water itself could get girls pregnant. We wanted to hang out there for the day.. The dressing rooms, showers and saunas next to the pool were where 'The girls next door' did some of their shoots.
We were then brought to feed all Hef's animals, he has all kinds, different types of birds, monkeys, and fish. The monkeys come right up and take the food from your hand. It's a zoo in his backyard!
The staff were amazing and took great care of us all, and Shelia, Bobby and Mandy were some of the nicest people you were ever likely to meet in your entire life.
It must be one of the hardest places in the world to describe, or do justice to, simply because there is so much history, and mystique.. but walking round we felt pretty much at home, and agreed we'd try move in as soon as possible!
Huge thanks to Shelia, and Bobby, they made a dream come true for a bunch of Irish Rock N' Rollers.
Now we just gotta get back for the party....
