BELGIUM TOUR A GREAT SUCCESS!

After two sold out tour fundraiser shows in Adelaide, Heather departed Adelaide's shores for her 2nd solo tour internationally in Belgium, Europe.

Heather joined Flemish singer songwritier Neeka www.neekamusic.be for 8 concerts accross Flanders, performing on the very sought after stages of the Cultural Center circuit in Belgium.

Heather and Neeka played songs together at the end of the concerts as well as performing solo... with audiences loving the sounds!

The Belgium tour was a tremendous success for Heather as she received encores and high praise from the audiences and venue directors alike! It is highly likely that Heather will tour again in belgium within the next 2 years... so stay tuned!

Heather also had the opportunity to teach a workshop in Belgium in acapella singing and also an introduction to sound healing with the human voice. The workshop went so well that it went WAY overtime because people didn't want to go home! Heather will be teaching more workshops in the coming months.

Heather then went on to study with two mentors in the UK.

Michael Ormiston, a fantastic artist and sound healer who sings the traditional Khoomii Mongolian harmonic singing. He also is a multi instrumentalist who plays gongs, tibetan singing bowls and many Mongolian string instruments. www.soundtransformations.btinternet.co.uk

Shirlie Roden, author, composer, vocalist who has a career spanning back to the 60's. She works with the human voice and how it can be used for physical, emotional and spiritual healing. www.shirlieroden.com

Big thankyou's to Michael and Shirley for their teachings.

While in the UK Heather also recorded vocals on two remix/dance tracks for conscious music artist Nick Weaver from the Big Heart Music Company.

A big thankyou to Stef (Heather's driver and tour manager)... Roger and Ingrid Bouwens from Kolibri Kultuurbro... Neeka and her father Pier... Jeroen for filming some of the gigs... Patrick for taking photos. Thankyou to other lovely folks who helped heather apon her travels... Tania, Jean, Jay, Mikey, Nick, Tracy...

See slide show of photos from the tour below...

Greetings everyone...
This below, is a beautiful excercise to practice. I've put this in my blog because we all know there is great violence, hate, judgement, fear and distance between human beings on this earth... so, what can we do about it??... anything positive has to be a good thing!... and so when I read and practice this Compassion Excercise it made sense how we can individually and wholey make a difference, with strangers and people we know, especially the people who we may find a challenge.

Hello to everyone!

A quick reminder about an exciting event this week in Adelaide…
it's the Sing Out! Songwriting Project in association with the Feast Festival

So what is Sing Out! ????

It's a songwriting, recording, performance and community development project
rolled into one.

Social worker Laura Bahnisch and I developed the project, and after many weeks of work,
it's finally here!

Seven of Adelaide's songwriters have worked with individuals from the GLBTIQ community with diverse backgrounds, and written songs with them about their lives.

It's been a beautiful, courageous, inspiring and healing project for all involved on different levels, and so the two performances this week will be something not to be missed!

The songs created embrace a range of styles from acoustic pop to folk to spoken word to hip hop… and they'll be performed only once, so this is your only opportunity to come and share these songs and different perspectives on life and love!

I will also be interviewing the songwriters and the participants from the community who told their stories… giving a personal insight into these wonderful individuals!

So if you're into diversity, songwriting, true stories, live music or simply going to see a musical event with a twist… book your tickets now to avoid disappointment, as there's only 80 tickets available for each show!

As a peacemaker I will:

See the good in myself and other people - and have the courage to express that.
Regard my own life with gratitude.
Develop peacefulness within my own heart and mind.
Honour the gift of life in all other living beings, without exception.
Practise kindness - regardless of who "deserves" it.
Take responsibility for the effect I have on others.
Protect the vulnerable.
Cultivate kindness.
Refuse violence as a solution to human problems - ever.
Accept difference - even when it challenges me.
Value community and extend my vision of community to embrace all living beings.
Protect the earth. Honour the earth. Cherish the earth and all its living forms.
Learn the value of silence and of thoughtful speech.
Discover and practise the power of forgiveness.
See the unity in all of life.
Live as a source of peace for others, and also for myself.

TRIO RECORDING & CD LAUNCH!

Hey everyone!
well, it's been a BUSY and WONDERFUL journey the past (only) 7 months for my Trio... Ryan, Daniel and I have played more than 30 gigs in those months with tours and a live to air on 3d Radio 93.7fm also... our tours have been a great way to meet new people and "find out feet" together... AND because we've had so much support from YOU, our friends and fans, we think it's time we made our OWN TRIO CD, so this weekend we're recording 4 tracks with producer David Briggs from Melbourne. Recording in the John Reynolds studios in Adelaide, our home town, will be great!
We have a cd launch date set for FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 14th! *one for ya diary right now I reckon!!!!!* @ JIVE on Hindley St, Adelaide... special guests TBC...
Wish us luck in the studio... can't wait to be getting the cd to you at our show on September 14th!

peace and music,
Heather Frahn Trio xx
it's going to be a great evening of live music, played with passion and funky vibes!
