I am pleased to announce that Patrick Campbell-Lyons has written a book about Nirvana during the 1960s.

For more details on how to obtain your copy:

Psychedelic Days

I run a fans page for Nirvana on Myspace. You can befriend them here:

Nirvana

Here is how Patrick defines his book:

In early July 2008 as I started to write some songs about my life and times in 1960’s London and beyond, something happened which I would describe as “crystal karma vision.” I was remembering in great detail those “psychedelic days” of forty years before when I navigated my way on a voyage of music, freedom, adventure and self discovery. The past had no distance and I was living it all over again. Thrill’s and pill’s rhythm and blues, the legendary Ealing Club, Island Records, Chris Blackwell Nirvana in Tin Pan Alley, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Guy Stevens, Mickie Most, Paris with Salvador Dali, Rio De Janeiro with Jimmy Cliff, The Star Club in Hamburg, Stockholm, Belguim, Tangiers and the “happenings.” When I stopped writing four months later I had a book. I had been there and lived to tell the story. Today so many years on people fantasize and wonder about those crazy days and often ask me “What were the 'sixties’ like? It must have been a crazy time! I wish I had been there.” Well my story is for you and it is also for those who were there and did not make it to the other side. Have a good trip.

Here's something a friend sent me.

I enjoyed it - so I thought that I'd share.

Ride Cowboy Ride

by
Kailyn Kay

Ride cowboy ride, ride cowboy ride , ride cowboy ride, Winchester at my side,
Across the Dakota sand, to a new land.

A painted pony and a saddle I share.
Dry bad land wind blows my maidens hair.
Lone trees faint covered cries, I feel nothing , not hate nor despise.
Lone tree, my son, the world to me.
Hot on my trail, I can make out the chief's angry yell.
A journey of fear led the plan to go.
But this I do know.
Once I make it over the territory line, my wife and son will be mine.
Will my family and fort make things right ?
The reason I flee this night.
To the stars above I pray, a promise of love locked in my heart they will stay.

Ride cowboy ride, ride cowboy ride, ride cowboy ride, Winchester at my side,
Across the Dakota sand to a new land, ride cowboy ride.

On the rivers edge, 1868, dark eyes first captured my hopeless fate.
Truly welcomed in, by the father and chief of the beautiful dark eyed maiden.
Chief, stern, he warned his daughter promised to another.
Faithful he and I grew into blood brothers.
Days, became a year, warnings ignored from my mind and ear.
Replaced with a love so strong, it burned my soul.
She had become my goal.
Nothing mattered, I didn't care, important only the love we did share.
Lone tree planted with the drop of leaves and early winter snow.
Secret whispers and belly begin to grow.
Don't they know I'd loved them all, the hardest pain I ever felt, I made the call.
With nowhere to hide, together this night, the three of us will ride.
Once friends at my back, I kick the pony to pick up the slack.
I see the light, through the dust of darkest night, the fort now in my sight.
Goodbye my brothers, have I won ?
this thing called love is finally mine, it is done.

Ride cowboy ride, ride cowboy ride, ride cowboy ride.
