Current mood:  animated

Sorry JD's and lentil-men,

sorry that the album isn't here yet: I've got the finished master sitting in my stereohands right now, but I'm still pursuing the rest of the process: artwork, design, printing, pressing, yip yip. The exciting news is that I have found (finally) an amazing artist who'll be making Engurland look beautiful. You can check out some of his work here, to give you an idea. I'm loving the more tattoo-style stuff he's doing, especially the Sugar Skulls and the Kayak design. Looking forward to seeing what my music makes him do...

And you might have noticed that the Bomb Tesco single and video still haven't appeared. You'll have to bear with us on that one, too: this is the first time I've ever tried to be the whole machine, and I underestimated how long it would take to crank out an album and all that goes with it. But rest assured, there are no non-organic components of this project. Every single part of this album has been grown from seed, nothing grafted on from a record company or manufactured in a cold white money laboratory. Which means that the wait will be worthwhile: Felix is still working on the footage we harvested in the supermarkets, and tells me he's inches away from the finish line. Watch this space, still! The video and the song will be with you in a matter of days.

Oh oh, the album's sounding sweet. Mr Simmonds has done frigging outstanding work on it, tinkering into the small hours with his mechanic hat on, and it's become whole as a result. Thanks you Jamie.

Enough rambling. The new release dates are these:

October the 12th: the album will appear on www.dizraeli.com only, for download.

October the 29th: for the start of the Dizraeli and the Small Gods tour, the album will be available on CD, in recycled cardboard packaging, with sick artwork by The Bevlak, and all the lyrics in a mystical booklet. You'll be able to buy the CD direct from me, either through www.dizraeli.com or at the actual gigs. The album will also appear on iTunes, Amazon, and all the rest of them outlets.

That's set, chiselled and ready to go.

And please keep sending me your messages, I'm loving the feedback, and the rhymes too.

Spread the network!

Peace

HEY FOLKS.. Well excited at the minute.. I've just heard the masters for the brand new Mud Sun ep, my sideproject with Baba Brinkman (the mighty canadian rapper best known for turning the Canterbury Tales into dope rap songs). Mud Sun, forging art from the dirt and making it lovely, sons of the soil, casting light through the fuckry, and anything else you might think it means. Go and check it for yourselves, on www.myspace.com/mudsun

Five songs of wickedness

And watch that space, as well as watching this one.

Alright then.

On Saturday I won the BBC Radio 4 UK Slam Finals: it was a thing I hadn't expected really at all. I like how chilled the attitude between the poets normally is at these events. You can say whatever whatever poets are pussies but life's far too short to worry about being hiphop enough, being hardcore enough. It's a good thing,  a slam. I was shitting bricks about the competition itself... sat shaking wondering whether I had enough points to get through to the next round Yeah I smacked it man it was raw, took the whole thing by storm shut up you nob you're a oet not a prapper. It was a completely nerve racking evening, the other poets were brilliant i thought, nah i won't get through of course I won't. But I did and there I was standing at the end in front of the Radi Oh 4 banner going Oh.

Big up to the other Poets they were all dope,

Love to my family who came and supported, and all the Smerins people and old Bristol people who came and shouted at the right points.

Fight! FIght! Fight!

Peace

Alright peoples. Well not wanting to blow my own bleedin bugle or anything but i thought i'd let you know like. Dizraeli is now officially the Farrago UK Slam Poetry Champion for 2006/7. The finals took place at George Bernard Shaw theatre in Rada, London, on the fifteenth of December, and the competition was tight as you like: i was just absolutely blown sideways by some of the poets there, including a wicked rapper named something Grey, and also a brilliant woman poet laying down some truths about the things she saw as a londoner, and an amazing IrishAmerican writer spitting fire at the catholic church...
At the end though, the judges chose me so, i thank them and say Bigup to the other artists competing, and I hope to see them again.
