May bank holiday at Below was great, good to have friend Burnski playing his first set at the party, followed by Tpot on the 16th which was a small intimate party, loved it.

Managed to finish my remix for Hypercolour, really happy with this so looking forward to the release. Have also managed to finished two new EPs through May and June so keep an eye out for these.

Got our Immigrant Sonar event next week playing with Move D, Solomon and Vincenzo, really can't wait for this and then on the 27th playing Circo Loco at the Warehouse in Birmingham w / Dinky and Cirillo.

Was reading the article on Richie Hawtin using Twitter and found this very interesting, check this out

http://www.ibizavoice.comforumviewtopic.phpf=10&t=4976&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

As highlighted, I agree that this is a great way for independent record labels and smaller artists to get the money and recognition they deserve. A system and frame work applied to clubs and DJ's where by PRS / MCPS are notified with exactly what is being played would result in the money going to the right people. I feel something as big as this would have such an impact on the industry..

What are other peoples views on this???

FEB 2009

Feb saw me play my first date for FNR in Preston and Forward in Coventry, both nights turned out with a busy and up-for-it crowd! Thanks to everyone who came down.

Although the Love Parade has been cancelled this year the annual release of the Love Parade 2009 Compilation has been released, featuring my record 'Chicago Kids Dont Cry'. 'Chicago Kids Dont Cry' is scheduled to be released later this year on Immigrant.

Finally some news I'm really hyped about. Myself and Robin Porter have been working on a new and exciting project, we finished a remix early last week - listen out in my Live sets for some striking vocals. More info soon!

JAN 2009

Hello and welcome to my first update of the year. Ok, so 2008 was a very good year I must say, played some fantastic dates at my residency with Below in Birmingham and at all of the Immigrant events throughout the year.. the Sonar and T-bar ones in particular, you know the ones!! I also enjoyed the first year of being an artist with Immigrant Records, sharing the success on my releases with the label.

This year looks like there will be more of a progression, already having some good news and bookings on the agenda. Having just recieved the masters and artwork for my forthcoming EP has really got me excited, oh and that it also includes a remix from John Tejada!!! - due for release in late March have a look out for it.. Having been asked to do a remix for Hypercolour I have started work on this and should be released around the same time..

Over the weekend I wil be playing my first date for the guys at 'For No Reason' up in Preston (UK). Having heard very good things about the night I will be very much looking forward to playing on Saturday.

January has been a month of being in the studio all day everyday!.. I have mainly been working on, and nearly finished now.. a first in the series of mix CD compilations for Immigrant Records. The idea of the series, named 'NeedleWorks' is to coinside with the launch of Immigrant's new clothing brand and works on using the labels back cataogue, giving me a choice from over 10 years of music!!! Its taken a bit of time . . but! be sure to check it when its released ;p

NEW RELEASE INFO
Artist : Subb-an
Title : Mount Kilimanjaro EP
Release Date : September 1, 2008 (Immigrant) :: September 8, 2008 (Beatport/Juno)
Label : Immigrant Digital
Cat No. : IMMD.014

....http://www.immigrantindustries.com/artwork/immd014.jpg

This fourteenth Immigrant Digital EP comes to you this autumn courtesy of exclusive artist Subb-an - hailing from the UK's murky Midlands, he's rapidly carving a place for himself in the UK scene via his residency and explosive live sets at Birmingham's renowned BELOW party, whilst vinyl releases this year with Immigrant and Leftroom have already showcased his versatile production style and Detroit inspired tech-house vibes, pushing well beyond the boundaries of his hometown locale. This EP again hints at a change of direction with a more driving sound; it's an energetic, groove filled gem of a package that demonstrates why Subb-an is one to watch over the coming months.
