Possibly a confused consequence of an early horrified reading of the warlike and predatory Calormene warriors in CS Lewis’ hyperviolent and racist The Last Battle, Moonhowlers were yet another of my childhood night demons. Already bloodthirsty and heavily armed, these shapeshifting hordes could be further enraged and physically transformed by the moon and were about to imminently ravage the Cornish landscape and populace, ending their gore-soaked festival of pain at my window. It hasn’t yet happened.

Part two of the series on enduring childhood demons deals with my abiding terror of a shadowy figure called ( by my younger self) the Tinderboxer.
A psychotic version of the fairly benign Sandman, the Tinderboxer brings tools to the bedside that can set fire to dreams , and turns parts of the sleeping child's brain into ash. Kiddie dream ash is what he wants.
I had a lot of migraines as a child.

Ever since I was a child , my dreams were in danger of being hijacked by the whirring arrival of a giant dusty beast , its velvet proboscis poised to drink my eventually blood-diluted tears. That's the pigmoth. The mp3 on our page was composed with shaking fingers and occasional choked sobs. Enjoy ! kn x

"Cowfolding" , the latest audio tribute to locations on the legendary and thrilling A23 thoroughfare , should be honking out of ourspace at the moment.
Sometimes glimpsed in Dopplervision as we cruise past it at seventy , Cowfold deserves its moment of glory. "Cowfolding" is also a little-known but much feared rural practise , although space and decorum prevent me from giving further details. Those familiar with the results will understand why.
best wishes

Some Halloween pagan slowjam for you......" Moonhowlers" refer to those people who kept dancing after the sun went down , and what happened to them.
It's a nocturnal , terrified version of "Denaissance" , which you can also listen to if you like.
More to follow......
best wishes as always , kn.

It's the depths of sodden autumn , recession has arrived , the rough beast is slouching towards us to be born , and British television has a reality television show aimed at creating child politicians.
What better time to listen to a decade-old audioliterary triptych from Norton towers , three fragments of doom for the price of one, that deal with …..
1 global paranoia and magical thinking ( William Burroughs on cracked vocals)
2 the decay of love and the psychosis of obsession ( Loic Rich reading WB Yeats)
3 the inevitability of death ( Philip Larkin reading himself).
All other sounds by a fresh-faced Kemper Norton ( circa 1998).
Available on ourspace for a limited time only.
Apologies for any sound issues created by passing time , primitive recording equipment , digital decay and youthful naivety. Enjoy!
Best wishes

" Pease Pottage " , which should be blurting out of ourspace now , is the first in a hopefully short series of non-motorik service station traffic jam contemplations of locations on the M23 , one of our favourite thoroughfares.
Like all road journeys , it goes on a little too long.
Pease Pottage itself has been the scene of transcendent boredom , occasional bursts of speed, impotent rage and dank spells of existential despair.
What is it with cars anyway?

Now bouncing around ourspace should be Kemper Norton's reimagining of the mighty Ice Bird Spiral's epic soundscape " 5 Black Yachts for Jean".
Essentially , we chose one of the billions of melodies that the Spiral churned out . and took it for a dayglo unicorn ride. We then put a gratuitous dulcimer and guitar all over it ( as usual).
It was a pleasure.
