I really didn’t mean to be. Quite honestly, I thought everyone knew what was going on, but it was brought to my attention that actually hardly anyone knew what was going on. So here we go. We’re recording a new record…, like literally, right now. We’ve been in Atlanta for about a month (hence all my Atlanta-based status updates on the Facebook and Twitter). We’re working with Rick Beato again, and if that name sounds or doesn’t sound familiar, he’s the fella who produced our first record, June’s Picture Show. The album is getting pretty close to finished, and it sounds downright awesome. We don’t have a title for the album just yet, but I’ll certainly let you know when we get one. And unfortunately, I don’t know a release date either (and of course I’ll let you know that, too). We’d love to have it out by the spring, but, as I’ve found, these things tend to change. So if you’re wondering about the lack of tour dates recently, there’s a little explanation for you. We’re not just sitting around the house, eating potato chips, and being just overall lazy. Actually, we’re sitting around in a hotel doing those things.

And for those of you wondering what we named the rehearsal space, we still haven’t decided. But there are some terrific ideas there. Thank you so much for your input. And if you still have some, keep ‘em coming. If you don’t know what I’m talking about right now, go read the post before this one. And leave a suggestion. :)

Look forward to seeing you guys soon, and for you to hear our record!

so we had to shoot him.

We just didn't feel he could live a happy life after this, and he would just be a drain on society, so we were left with no choice.  We even tried surgery, but it just wasn't working...or worth it.

So here's the deal.  Myspace now allows us to put 10 songs up on our player, instead of 6.  So this is what we're gonna do.  As I've mentioned before, we've been writing a bunch for a new record, and we already have one new song up on our player (Hey Girl), I think we're just gonna start using these extra slots to rotate in new songs.  To be honest, I'm usually really guarded with new material, to the point that I even get nervous showing it to the rest of the band (though I think Phil has no qualms whatsoever showing us his songs...he's confident. haha), but you know, screw it, I'm just gonna throw some of our stuff out there.  What do we have to lose, right?  Well, you know, besides a bunch of fans, career legitimacy, and actual success.  But if you throw all those silly things out, we got nothing to lose!!  Anyway, we're gonna show you some new stuff.  Try to remember that these are home demos, which means these were done in my music room at my house (which is basically a bedroom with a couple guitars, a microphone, a keyboard I got for Christmas in 7th grade, and my computer), so my resources are a bit limited.  I only mention this because when I put up Hey Girl and asked for feedback, I got messages with questions about my mix, why it doesn't sound like our other records, etc, etc.  That would be because I don't have a real studio in my house.  Okay, so that said, let us know what you think about it.  And you can even tell us they suck, but try to package that with something nice to soften the blow. :)

**update**
And just so you know, I don't say the word "naked" anywhere in the song "As Long As I'm With You."  Apparently, my enunciation is getting worse, and everyone thinks I'm saying that.  Trust me, I'm not.  Think achin, breakin, fake it, make it.

Ok maybe I'm not.  But he sure looks like me, or maybe I look like him, since he's older, and really, much more famous.  This is the new Memphis basketball coach, Josh Pastner.  It's always a little freaky when you can actually agree that you look like someone else.

I also look like Joey McIntyre and Kevin Griffin.  I kinda wished I was a dead ringer for Brad Pitt and/or Matthew McConaughey, but what are you gonna do?
Anyway, let's hope this fella keeps it going for my Tigers!

I also posted this to our website blog.  I tend to post to that a little more than here, and I think you can subscribe to it, so, by all means, go subscribe.  What are you waiting for?  Go do it!!!

But have you guys ever looked at the "missed connections" on Craigslist?  I didn't even know this existed till about 30 minutes ago, and holy s#@t!!!  I don't even know where to start.  I mean, is it stalkerish?  Is it just plain creepy?  Is it a place for some good ol' fashioned whoredom?  Does it really work?  Anyone know of anyone or have you actually met up with someone because of a missed connection post?  I don't even know what I'd do if I was looking through those for entertainment and saw one that absolutely had to be about me.  And maybe this works better for girls than it does guys, because I can't imagine the thought ever running through my head, at any point in my life, where I would say to myself, "yeah, I just saw this hot girl.  I didn't get to talk to her (or maybe I did and she left abruptly), but I'll just make a post in the classifieds.  Yep, that'll get her.  For sure won't creep her out."  Is this site not weird?  Or am I just weird for thinking it's weird?  Maybe this is something that everyone does, and I just haven't heard about it.  And what if some of my best friends are on there?  Like what if Phil's on there?  I can just see it now..."i saw you in the frozen foods section at Kroger.  I have a blonde mohawk and lots of tattoos.  You were buying green beans..."  Haha.  I just weirded myself out typing that.  And I'm sure Phil's gonna love that, too.   So far, here are two awesome ones I've come across, and I've only looked at one page in Memphis.  One of them kinda gives me the willies.  One just straight up makes me laugh

(name withdrawn),
I really wish you wouldn't have left the rooster like you did. You

So, we get quite a few messages requesting us to put certain songs on our player so that the you can use them on your profile.  As you've probably noticed, we only get to put 6 songs up here, so we can't please everyone...until now.  Myspace has put up a profile for us that has every song we've released in the last 5 years, and it's all available for you to add to your playlist.  Now they do say that they're working with "working with the artist and label to set up a profile so that you can add as a friend," (*cough*bullshit*cough*) but at least they have our music up there!  I'll work on getting the rest of our info on it.  Click here to go to the profile

Oh, and if anyone knows a brilliant way to get the code to embed that player on our profile here, we'd gladly accept the help.  Enjoy!!

Except that it wasn't really about us.  But any publicity is good publicity, right?! haha.

Hope everyone is just fantastic. :)

Well, no.  And we haven't been kidnapped… or died.  We aren't hiding (well, Phil is).  What have we really been doing?  Writing.  Making demos.  Trying to be creative.  Trying to put together another record that you will hopefully love more than the last, and the one before that… although, I've actually spent the last 20 minutes figuring out how to type Spanish characters on an English keyboard (I don't speak Spanish, at least any more fluently than someone who took the required two years of it in high school…and I regret that, really).  And it's not really all that important that I know how to type them.  But since we did that YouTube video of the Chris Brown cover, we get a lot more international friend requests.  And after looking at a Spanish girl's page, it became perfectly clear that I NEEDED to know how to get that damn tilde over the n.  I didn't respond in Spanish or anything… that would be ridiculous.   But that damn tilde…

So we hope everyone is doing well.  We're gonna pick up some shows this summer, and hopefully have us a big ol' extended tour in the fall.  You will know about all these dates as soon as I do.  Though really, historically, I've been the last one to find out when we're playing a show (or at least, 3rd to last.  I have to tell Phil and Matt).  Let's just put it this way.  I will tell you about it as soon as I know, even though some of you will probably be the ones to inform me about it.

Peace out

(that's my true, authentic ghetto side comin' out.  Gotta hang on to my street cred)

This is one of my roommates... seriously

***update***
Well, there was a great video up here, but my roommate got embarrassed and made me take it down. Just for the record, I thought it was pretty amazing. Oh well
