I gotta admit, as much as I want to hate the catchiness to some of these songs, I do enjoy them. And I drank the Nicki Minaj kool-aid. It's about time a female can entertain like she can in Hip Hop. Maybe it's the 15-year old in me trying to be cool... whatever it is, you decide for yourself whether you like it or not! Can T.I. make it out in time so he can celebrate his Release at one of our Walnut March Madness B-Day Celebrations? =)

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, rapper T.I. will be moved to a halfway
house after serving months in a federal prison in Arkansas. T.I. could be released to a halfway house as early as January

Rumors regarding T.I.’s move to a halfway house began circulating on the Internet Tuesday (December 15) and were confirmed by a prisons spokesperson.

“…it’s not uncommon for inmates to be placed in community corrections for the last portion of their confinement to help with his transition,” Bureau of Prisons spokesman Edmond Ross told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

T.I. was originally sentenced to serve a year and a day in prison, but he is expected to be released from prison custody on March 23, 2010.

The Atlanta rapper is currently serving time because of a sentence for illegal firearms possession and for possessing a gun as a convicted felon.

I'm sure the King will be please to know that you (his fans) help make "Hell Of A Life" one of the "Top 30 Videos of 2009" on MySpace Music. Visit him at www.myspace.com/trapmuzik

The new Demi Moore and Bruce Willis... Wouldn't it be nice if everyone can be this comfortable to work with their ex's? I really like this music video, nicely shot with a story beyond "hey rapper, stand in front of this green screen."

Check out this video: RIHANNA NYC MySpace Music Release 12/03/09

MySpace Music extended their streak of bringing the biggest stars to NYC through the Urban Concert Series “THE RELEASE”. The Hammerstein Ballroom housed 800+ energetic fans, all which received a free ticket at that, not to mention the streaming video that went LIVE around the world, to see ROC Nation’s Princess, DEF JAM recording artist, Rihanna. Rihanna was in “town” to promote her latest album “Rated R”. The “Rated R” superstar sold 181,000 copies in the first week. And with Saturday Night Live waiting in the wings, last nights performance was a sign of what was to come tomorrow night.

An amazing plus to this performance was the intimacy of it all. Rihanna was given the opportunity to be up close and personal with her fans, eye to eye, almost in reaching distance from where ever you stood. But if it was up to this beautiful talent, you’d just have to ‘Wait Your Turn’. Rihanna hit the stage with unshakable confidence. And why shouldn’t she? She is clearly in the best shape of her life, with an undeniable fashion sense and a sex appeal that pulls you in. “The Wait is Over,” she sung to a packed house, that was well, waiting. I would say that “good” things come to those who wait, but didn’t she turn “bad” last album?

Rihanna took a seat at mid-center stage to sing her lead single ‘Russian Roulette’. The silver chair spun as Rihanna delved deeper into a love that was life threatening, written by multi-platinum singer/songwriter, Ne-Yo. The stage went red with pain as the crowd sung along to the heart pounding ballad. Rihanna rose to her feet for the bridge and once again, the crowd just ate it up. Now I must say that a little more time in sound check would have done well for the total ambiance. But still in all, Rihanna held it down nicely. Speaking of the “Good Girl, Gone Bad”, the next song ‘Please Don’t Stop the Music’ was more of an upbeat performance. Rihanna danced from one end of the stage to the other as her fans threw their hands in the air and pulled out their best moves. Next, ‘Take a Bow’ found Rihanna sitting on a stool, front and center stage, and emotionally belting out lyrics that may have more meaning today than they ever had.

Last but not least, Rihanna finished the set with ‘Disturbia’ which was remixed in a way that slowed the uptempo hit down into an R&B ballad. This performance would switch speeds but remained dark. To close out the show, Rihanna delivered two crowd favorites. She performed her new single ‘Hard’, which practically everybody in attendance sung along with, word for word.

You might say I stole the idea for The Release program from my co-worker Isac Walter after years spent pressing my ear up against his office door as he planned so many of his famed Secret Shows.

While we had already held a couple shows with legends in the rap world like Ice Cube and Lil Wayne it seemed there were still some artists that didn't quite fit the Secret Shows brand and I wanted to start a program that really celebrated and catered to urban artists and their fans.

So in the fall of 2007, the first Release show was booked with Chamillionare in New York City. From there, the shows whizzed by… Nas, Wyclef Jean and Erykah Badu all happened within the first few months.

Soon it became a tradition for artists to bring out some of their closest MySpace friends to join them on stage at these intimate performances. Rihanna and Kanye West jumped onstage with T.I. (after we awarded him a plaque for being the first musician on MySpace to have over two million friends). Diddy, Ludacris and Busta Rhymes joined T-Pain's version of a "Circus" onstage. And it seemed like all of Los Angeles came out for our show with Lionel Richie.

It’s crazy how fast time flies. Just last week we celebrated our 50th Release Show with 50 Cent in his hometown of New York. The re-broadcast of the memorable show will air THURSDAY 12/10 at 6pm PST / 9pm EST on www.myspace.com/50cent

If you’ve ever been to one of our 50+ Release showsor 200 Secret Shows, would love for you to share your stories and pictures below… The memories that are created and the excitement on people’s faces because of the free shows makes all the hard work that goes behind them worthwhile… A special thanks to all the record labels, artists, managers, photographers, videographers, sponsors, sound engineers, venues, editors and most importantly MYSPACE FANS that make the free shows amazing! See more at www.myspace.com/hiphopand our latest withRihanna here.
