First, big SHOUTOUT to Brian Bendis. After too long, we finally have him on the show and it was a real pleasure!
If you have never talked to or met Brian, I can honestly say he is one of the coolest guys. I am very excited about Secret Invasion and can’t wait to read it. The thought of some heroes being replaced by Skrulls since the 70s is really cool. Can you imagine 70s Luke Cage confronting present day Luke Cage. "Sweet Christmas, you shaved my head, jive turkey! How am I gonna’ wear this tiara!"

Anyway, you can check out the show and let us know what you think.

Later, jive turkeys!

It has taken a while, but we have a big change to announce. As of NOW, Alter Ego Comic Cast is now part of the FAN-OFF podcasting network. This is an exciting partnership for us as we will be able to open up our show to people who may have never heard us before.

Fan-Off is a network of podcast that feature everything from extreme sports, Anime, video games, music, and of course, Alter Ego Comic Cast.

Check out Fan-Off by going to www.fanoff.com. There is some really cool stuff. You will be able to listen to the show, subscribe to the podcast feed, real-time chat, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

The site is still a little young, but it will be getting some more content in the coming weeks.

So what does this mean to you? If you already subscribe via iTunes or any other music RSS reader, it means nothing. We will still come to you exactly the same. If you listen via MySpace, the player has been removed and you can just go to www.fanoff.com and follow the links to us. That's it. Simple as pie, huh?

So, we would love your feedback. Let us know what you think and keep listening.

Until next time...WE ARE OUT!

Hey everyone, Steve here...

First, thanks to everyone who listens to the show. We appreciate every single one of you tuning in week after week. We hope that we give you something that you enjoy!

For those that have been with us from the beginning, you know that we have always tried to make the show different, better and bigger. That means more guests, news, reviews, etc. We really try not to fall into that pack of all the other comic podcasts. From the feedback we get from our fans, it seems like we are keeping that commitment.

We are in the process of making the show better than it ever has. I can't get into the details right now, but keep listening. We will have an announcement in the next week or so that will take AECC to the next level and we will be taking some friends along for the ride.

2008 is going to be a big year for the "Cast" (can you believe it has been almost two years?) Stay tuned!

Peace out!
Steve

Sorry there is no podcast this week – sometimes you just can't fight the flu bug. But, Drew's still healthy and you know what that means - it's sports reference time! In honor of the indictment of Barry Bonds, I thought it would be a good time to take a look at favorite comic book substances best used by substance abusers. So without further adu…

  1. Vitamin 2 K – not only does it sound like the next Rhianna album, it's also the super substance that gave the Blue Beetle his…hmmm…Blue Beetle powers.

  1. Booze- Tony Stark's a dwunk and kee's in erry Marvel Cowic – No excuse, big guy, put down the bottle. Tony earned his position by manipulating the American public and betraying friends – not from buying rounds at Senior Froggies.

  1. Oz  – Ultimate Universe Norman Osborne may be responsible for Green Goblin,  Hobgoblin, and Spider-Man. Plus, taking the Oz serum supposedly gives you an edge in Scrabble.

  1.  Super Serum- America's greatest hero is a product of hard work and patriotism or having the government throw a needle in your arm to make you bigger than our current governer of Cal-i-forn-ia. Either way, you can take what stance on MLB's steroid policy, but you can't deny Cap's success came from a syringe – see, it's okay Mark McGuire.

  1. Tachyon –  that's one hell of a drug – even by Rick James standards. Tachyon allowed Rick Tyler to look one hour into the future, and if you could look one hour into the future – you would have never read this list…now that's freaky!

Think you got a better top five…bring it! This top five was prepared with rigorous second(s) of intense random (meaningless) conversation and I challenge you to come up with a better list!

Thanks,

Drew

Hey everybody!

Hope everyone enjoyed the show this week with Jason Aaron. I mean that he was on the show not that you listened to it at the same time as him, but if you did have the chance to listen to it with him I'm sure you both had a good time. Anyway, we are taking this holiday weekend off but will be back next week!

Also...

Alter Ego Comics just launched a brand new site - check it...

 http://alteregocomics.net/

See you next week...

Until then... me am out!

Current mood:  geeky

We have been slacking on guests for the past few months, but hey...life happens.  So much has been happening in the last few months and the show is still moving forward faster than ever.  I can't believe it is almost a year!!!

This week we start back with someone I have personally been dying to have on the show, Tim Bruckner.  You may not immediately know his name, but I guarantee that you know his work.  If you have ever collected action figures, especially DC Direct, then you know Tim's work.  He is personally responsible for a majority of the best DCD figures.  Justice, Dark Knight, most of the Silver Age figures, on and on.  Just check out his SITE to see what I mean.  He is super talented and also an all around nice guy.

Well, keep checking back.  We will post more here in the future.  There are some really cool changes in year two and we will keep you all posted.

Until next time...I am OUT!
