We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be teaming up with our esteemed colleagues The Gathering on their 'The West Pole' / 20th Anniversary European
tour in January and February 2010.
It’s truly an honor for us to join forces with a band that
rocked the cradle of contemporary female fronted heavy music and that
has since then firmly set its own unique course into uncharted
territory throughout its 20 year history. The Gathering have managed to
create a trademark sound that sets them apart from the wealth of bands
that followed in their footsteps and in this sense they have been a
true inspiration for us.
Though our musical styles may differ slightly, we feel that Autumn and
The Gathering share a very similar approach to music: persevering in
the face of setbacks and rising to the challenge of creating music that
expands our musical boundaries while remaining close to the hearts of
both ourselves and our fans.
An evening with The Gathering and Autumn therefore holds the promise of being a varied, honest and intense musical experience.
We hope to welcome you at one of these shows!

Our latest video, The Heart Demands, is featured on one of the largest online guitar magazines on the net! Below more info and the news item from Metal Blade, check it out! Autumn “The Heart Demands” video featured on Ultimate-Guitar.com!
The Netherland’s Autumn has recently released a new video for their song, The Heart Demands, from their latest album, Altitude.
Our friends over at Ultimate-Guitar.com posted the video this morning,
so make sure to head over there and check it out. You can see the video
HERE.
Altitude was released on March 3rd
in the US and perpetuates the band’s vision of writing “albums” and not
just putting together a collection of songs. Guitarist Mats van der
Valk comments: “We’re pretty much an album band, having grown up in
times when buying an album meant embarking on a musical journey, a
thrilling adventure. Nowadays, you often end up with a collection of
songs, some killers, some fillers. For us, every note on this album has
a purpose. Every second counts, so to speak.”
Ultimate-Guitar.com
is the fastest growing guitar community on the net - it's the only
guitar website that has gear and cd reviews, music news, guest columns,
guitar and bass lessons and tabs in one place! And don't forget about
the coolest guitar community of guitarists on the planet, so make sure
to register for an account and comment on The Heart Demands and other videos while you’re there.
“Welman’s performance is far more personal and engaging, reflecting the warmth of an Anette Olzon or Amy Lee…” Outburn Magazine
“…dreamy and otherworldly...brilliant and very inventive…” PureGrainAudio.com
“…beautiful
harmonies combined with great songwriting and an avant-garde
sensibility make Altitude a multi-layered and multi-dimensional CD that
is a very enjoyable disc to listen to.” ThrashMag.com
“To
say that Altitude is the bands best work to date is an understatement,
for Altitude has blasted light years ahead of what the band crafted two
years ago in My New Time.” SomethingPunk.com
“The
MVP of the album is Welman, who takes the full reins of Autumn and
never lets loose. Her vocals are soaring, passionate, and full of just
the right amount of emotion to not lean into over-wrought territory.” About.com
“If
you're looking for smartly penned melodic metal (which manages to sound
unlike most of the other modern-day metal bands mining similar sonic
terrain), Autumn's Altitude would be a wise purchase.” AllMusic.com
