hey ya'll,

i just got back from nashville, where i had the absolute time of my life with some wonderful friends and my big brother! i was invited to perform with Levi Lowrey at the Ryman Auditorium (home of the Grand ole Opry), which i must say, was an absolute dream come true! the first night, i cried as i walked around at soundcheck....the second night, i cried again. i have some photos to post, but i can't find the cable for my new camera...boo.

i am so grateful for the profound things that have happened this year, and i can't wait for what's ahead in the new year. i hope you all have the happiest new year's you've ever had...i'll be home tonight playing some new instruments i got for christmas!

best wishes to you all, and thanks for the love this year!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hey Everyone,

I've got a show this Thursday at the Hotel Cafe. I'm thrilled to be playing after New West recording artist Corb Lund, who come to find out, completely rules! I play at 8pm, and I will have special guests Jamie Drake and Brian Wright on a couple of songs. Planning a real fun one from my gospel record! Hope you can make it out.

Also, I just posted a new song called "She Ran Away"...it's just a little recording me, Fil, and my friend Jamie Drake made at New Monkey Studio with Nick Luca (Calexico, Neko Case, M. Ward) as our engineer. Hope you like it.

Wishing you happy days!

Hello my friends!

Good news to share. I recently made a recording of my song "Fast Enough" that will be featured on tonight's episode of the NBC drama Mercy. It airs at 8pm, and I'm told the song plays in a car scene. I myself will be wrapping the tin foil around the rabbit ears to see if I can tune in too! Haha! You can also view on-line via Hulu. http://www.hulu.com/mercy.

"Fast Enough" was cut this Summer with drummer Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello), Bassist Davey Faragher (Elvis Costello, Cracker), Guitarist Mitchell Townsend (Matt Costa), & Keyboardist Fil Krohnengold (All Spots To Black, Brian Wright & the Waco Tragedies)."

AND...since the song is going to be featured on Mercy, and I'm pretty proud of this recording, it is now available for a 99 cent download on cdbaby...
Here's the link to download the song:  http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/..SallyJaye2.
And if you download it, don't be shy, leave a review there on the cdbaby page!

What else is new? Well...I'm playing my first show tomorrow night as drummer for singer/songwriter Jamie Drake! If you're in Los Angeles, you can check that out at Crane's Tavern in Hollywood (11pm).

And my next big show is at the HOTEL CAFE- HOLLYWOOD - NOVEMBER 19TH (8PM)

Also...many have been asking me about Old St. Paul, my live gospel recording made last year in North Carolina. I don't have a release date for you yet, but we are getting closer, and we have a lovely EPK that I'll be posting soon that tells a little four minute story about that great evening. More to come on that...

As always, thanks so much for the support!

hello my friends,

i have many blessings this month. for starters, i'm so thrilled to be supporting Brother Salvatore Leonardo for his record release tomorrow night at the Hotel Cafe. Brother Sal is a great friend of mine and has made himself a fantastic record. i'll be playing at 9pm before Sal. i'm also completely stoked (love that word!) to have the lovely jamie drake doing some guest vocals with me. her voice makes angels stop. truly.

Friday, Sept. 4th
HOTEL CAFE
Hollywood CA
9pm - Sally Jaye
10pm - Brother Sal
11pm - Brian Wright
Midnight - Foster Timms (one of my all time favorite songwriters!)

also...on saturday, i start working on another film. i'm so excited to have the unexpected opportunities this year to be acting. the film is called "Handcuffs", written and directed by Dennis Hauck and starring Sam Levine (Freaks and Geeks). i get to play with my band in this one! and i get to do something really cool at the end, but can't tell you or it will spoil the ending.

and...next week, i will be in the studio singing on Levi Lowrey's record. i have been a fan of his songwriting and fiddle playing for a while, and he has asked me to sing a duet on his record that is being produced by Zac Brown, John Hopkins and Clay Cook. you should check out Levi! he's the real deal, and he will be going on tour in the fall with the Zac Brown Band.

that's all for now. more to come.

love,
