REVIEW OF "FEMICIDE" BY RAZAKEL
WRITTEN BY AMKR & CRiNGE OF JUNCTION: OMEGA
01. Nature of The Feminine Beast - Good intro, sets up the concept well. Builds up the tension for the new album. Production by Razor Ruckus.
02. Femicide (Perfect Prison) - Perfect way to start the album! Immediately you're drawn in by this amazing techno-metal blend, produced by SickTanicK, totally visious but also incredibly melodic. The song lyrics give a fantastic over-all description of the character of Razakel. The chorus is incredibly catchy; beautiful singing as always from Raz. This song is so layered, so experimental - a unique declaration of death to all. The best part of this song might be the breakdown before the chorus in which Razakel repeats the line "I wept blood" along with some gutteral screams from Sick. An amazing song and actually one of our favorites right off the bat!
03. Watch Out - This beat gives me the feeling of being crept up on, very fitting. Another instrumental from SickTanicK Tha Souless. This song is RIGHT out of a horror movie! Its got a horror-crunk-esque feel to it and will definitely make you want to punch shit. Razakel's intensity and flow on the are flawless. She rides the beat like crazy. The lyrics are simply incredible, a real display of Razakel's actual knowledge on real-life serial killers. In the song she mentions Johny Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, and even Elizabeth Bathory, the blood countence, who bathed in the blood of young women. Bathory was one of the most prolific female serial killers in history and that is the kind of thing Razakel is rapping about. A lot of horrorcore gives you the image of a mindless masked drone, driven by anger or lust or whatever - a slasher-movie killer - but this album truly gives you the image of a serial killer, a maniac. This song is a major part in setting up that character, and generally rules in every way.
04. Give It To Me - Amazing transition between tracks! Can't say enough about how cool the beginning of this song is. When it kicks it, it's just on. This track is crunk and the hi-hats just make you nod your head till your neck hurts. Really crazy instruments in the beat, nice synths in the chorus. The production by Shy One is incredible as always, with his distinct signature style. The flow on the song is not as crazy as on the prior songs, much slower, but lyrics are awesome, really gorey and have a sort of old-school horrorcore sound. Really unique chorus that could ONLY be done by a female artist. Creepy in a totally new way... if you're a guy, this song will make you scared for your genitals. A song about domination, about making your victims succumb to your will. Owns.
05. The Rise of The Bxtch - This beat, courtesy of Jp The Hustler, makes me want to FUCK. SHIT. UP. EVERYTIME!! Razakel simply claims her place, yet again, in this awesome track. This song is on some real shit, showing exactly why Razakel is the Queen of The Wicked Shit. The lyrics are so honest, so confident. Razakel is showing that a female can rise to the top in this wicked shit, flexing her underground history, as well as showing her skills to contend with anyone on the microphone. She makes some incredibly strong comments in this song and seems to call out to people to prove her wrong. As far as I see it, she's gonna be holding the throne down for a WHILE.
06. Caylee Anthony (Rest In Pieces) - This is an interlude. Is this a real clip of Caylee Anthony? We're not sure. All I can really say about this is that it's fucking creepy sounding. WARNING: Listening to this interlude high will bug you the FUCK out. This bug out is brought to you by, SicKTanicK Tha Souless and Serial Killin' Records.
07. Black Bags & Heart Shaped Stickers - Now THIS song is the most FUCKED UP thing I've heard since Formula 86. And I LOVE IT! Definitely one of the best songs on the entire album. Razakel's singing in this song is so nicely harmonized, making for a totally creepy chorus. Can't even explain the emotion evoked by that hook. Seems to be actually being sung by a person sitting in the corner of a cell, rocking back and forth. Obviously this song is based on a true story, and still in trial at that... The story is perfectly conveyed. Casey Anthony herself tells the tale, pimping out her young daughter to pedophiles, eventually killing her in a jealous rage... You get to hear the convoluted logic of a mother who actually murdered her child! This song is straight RUGGED! No remorse! Incredible beat, a daring and unapologetic concept, perfect lyrics, strong delivery... just a fucking unbelievable song. This one will be a horrorcore classick! Another amazing beat by SickTanicK.
08. Ready Or Not - A genius re-make of the song "Ready or Not" by the Fugees. Reminds me of KryptiK (figures - look 3 songs down!) and some of the re-makes they've done (The Wall, etc.) and honestly just rules ass. Awesome flow, great lyrics - fucking creepy, but also really funny. At least the first time you hear it, you'll laugh your ass off! "Rape you slowly..." Razakel can sing like a motherfucker and actually really flexes her pipes on this one. Really amazing beat, produced by SickTanicK which totally flipped the song on it's head. Awesome fucking track.
09. Deadly Innoncence (Feat. SickTanicK Tha Souless) - Right off the bat the first thing in the song is a sample from Mudvayne, an incredible band. This beat is fucking amazing, thanks to Sick, blending heavy metal with an almost hypnotizing form of electronica. This song is, in a sick way, a love story. It just happens to be through the eyes of two serial killers. SickTanicK and Razakel both have sick verses, spitting some lyrical fire and the third verse is by far the best part of the song, going back and forth, back and forth, with some of the most brutal lyrics we've EVER heard from this duo. This song has just got to be one of the most incredibly violent, pornographic, fucked up pieces of writing ever. Enough said.
10. Warning By Bob E. Nite - Cool little warning interlude by Bob E. Nite about Razakel. Makes me wish there was a Bob. E. Nite collabo on the album.
11. KryptiK Spawn (Feat. KryptiK) - Razakel and KryptiK are always an amazing combination. This song is everything horrorcore is supposed to be and will have you singing along to the chorus in no time. Amazing beat by a producer we've never heard of before, Le Chum, by the sound we would of either assumed it was Komatose or SickTanicK on the production, which is suprising. Who is this guy? This song really has a "mood" to it, and the imagery brought by all three artists really takes you somewhere. All in all, the song seems to be a sort of ode to KryptiK. In calling herself "KryptiK Spawn" Razakel is showing where she came from, who she considers the classic wicked shit, and who has inspired her work. In her verses she interweaves all the song titles of various cutthroat songs and projects. It's amazing to hear. Rukus & Komatose drop ill verses as always, and by the end you can really picture the trio, all masked up, ready to go out and kill. Another fucking sweet song!
12. Fuck You, I Hope You Die - A horror-movie-esque piano interlude. Reminds me alot of "You Live Forever" on Chapter 1: Doctrines of The Damned. Sick always has a certain style when he does these types of things - they move you in a direction downwards, as if simulating death. The tone and mood is so perfect and really transitions you perfectly into the next song...
13. Abortion Party (BYOB) - A wicked sick beat by Razor Ruckus - tight use of samples at the beginning. (I believe at least one of them is from Hostel II? Not sure.) The lyrics to this song are basically a brutally nihilistic view of pregnancy. Who would want to bring another life into this fucked up world? Razakel takes pro-abortion to a whole new level in this tune, only about 2 minutes long. In that short time, she does her best to shock, offend, and bother you. A really good tune, with one of the best endings on the album, an absolutely SEAMLESS transition.
14. HATE - The transition between this song and the prior one is actually so good they could easilly masquerade as one track, however the lyrics to "HATE" are much more intense. It's all in the title. This song is incredibly angry, the flow actually has this sound to it where it seems to be attacking you. The chorus is fucking awesome and reminded me of the song "Get This" by SlipKnoT in which Corey Taylor screams "Hate, motherfucker, hate, motherfucker, hate" but this may be a reference to something older which SlipKnoT also used. A misanthrophic view of a pure hate for the whole human race, this song really reaffirms that character of Razakel and will give you even scarrier image of what she becomes on this album. The beat was produced by Cracked Halo - a producer whom we've not heard much from, but who clearly has a lot of talent.
15. God Cries - The song begins with a quote from the film "The Devil's Rejects" by Rob Zombie. This quote will never get old - simply one of the best movies of all time. Moments after the song begins, the sample is brought back and the final line is heard - "I Am the Devil, And I Am Here to Do The Devil's Work," which was reportedly said by Tex, a member of the Manson family, on the infamous night of the Tate murders. Here, whilst still quoting that amazing horror movie, Razakel is once again bringing up a reoccuring motif in her work - Charles Manson. Immediately this song brings me back to some of the tunes on Maddness & Despaire. This is more than a great track - It's a FUCKING ANTHEM!! Maybe the best chorus on the album, an amazing industrial style beat from SickTanicK. This track could have easily been a Team Death track - seems to have that overall feeling - which is far from a bad thing! No one tells a sick and twisted story like Razakel!
"Read me stories from you're great book, I demand! My hands slide down my pants as she's reading Bible passages - I'm pleasuring myself - masturbating blasphemous."
"God Cries" is one of the few purely blasphemous tracks on this album and it seems, with Femicide, that Razakel was trying to show that she is much more than a one-trick-pony. Some people are quick to jump to conclusions and think that all SKR does is Devil Shit. This album proves them wrong. However, that Devil Shit IS a big part of who she is and this song totally delivers.
16. Recognizing The Female Predator - Another interlude, all about the other side of the serial killer coin. Instead of murder, and gore, this interlude explains that to a female serial killer, it's all about secrecy, and suddenly thoughts of chainsaws and meat-cleavers are replaced with spoon-fuls of poison and long, clean, needles. Very creepy, bringing you into a whole other part of the album. Production by Razor Ruckus.
17. His Story By Zo - Now this track, took me COMPLETELY off guard the first time I listened to the album. It took a few listens for it to grow on me, but once it does it's infectious. A great way to showcase both sides of the story, and Zo does an incredible job. Awesome beat, produced by SickTanicK. Some really good singing from Zo. I bet there will never be another R&B track like this haha. His Story truly captures the vibe of every radio R&B track I've ever heard, but makes it wicked with the lyrics.
18. Nice N Slow - With an incredibly sick BADMiND beat, this song is the story of a vengeful greedy wife. Through the premeditation of his murder, to the poisioning with Arsenic, every lyric is part of a greater story, a true wicked narrative. Like many other songs on this album, Nice N Slow takes you on a very realistic journey - this murder is not unlike the many we see on television everyday. I can almost picture Nancy Grace, staring into the camera, a picture of Razakel hovering by her head, "Wife Brutally Murders Husband By Poisoning" running accross the bottom of the screen. The chorus is AMAZING - one of the best on the album! This song is truly every husbands worst nightmare.
19. Warning By Cyco - A skit, including a voicemail message from Cyco of Insane Poetry, warning SickTanicK about Razakel, as if she was a real serial killer. Produced by SickTanicK. A great transition into the next song. Again, makes me wish there was a Cyco collabo.
20. No Reason To Live - This is a mosh pit track if I've ever heard one. This beat SHREDS! SickTanicK on the instrumental, also contributing a lot of screams. The effect on Razakel's voice fits this style very well. This track is a big FUCK YOU to the Haters - telling them to bring it on. The song is like a bomb exploding with its intensity level. Nothing short of epic. Lyrics are great, delivery's strong as hell, and a chorus that makes you wanna kill. This song just plain fucking kicks ass, and proves ONCE AGAIN that a woman can bring it as hardcore as any guy. All hail the Queen!!
21. Men of My Dreams - Sick instrumental from Bob E. Nite. I love the synth in the background. This track is about the men of Raz's dreams - various serial killers and horror movie characters. A really catchy chorus, sort of old-school in it's style. This song had to happen eventually - how many men in horrorcore have written songs through the eyes of the same characters and killers she mentioned? Hell, some chick HAD to come along and write a song about them in this way - only makes sense. With the wonderfully realistic character Razakel has developed on this album, you can totally imagine her teaming up with Ed Gein, or any other killer. However, at the end result of the song, the real message is that if you ain't SickTanicK, you don't got a chance. ;-) Kinda sweet is a horrorcore sorta way. Haha.
22. Ripping From Inside - Another crazy instrumental from Razor Ruckus, and this one very different from anything I've heard of him. This song really takes you by surprise and has actually become one of my favorites. Some of the best singing on the whole album, really tight chorus. The effects on the voice really add to the overall mood of the track. It's a track about depression, self mutilation, the thrill of murder, boiling overflowing hate and the various sides of Razakel. A great way to lead into the end of the album. The next song completely changes the dynamic, but in this tune, we're getting a final dose of the truly evil Razakel. It's really interesting because the chorus, and eventually the final line are ""You don't wanna see these sides of me," and it is immediately after this track that we ARE introduced to a WHOLE new side of Razakel. Amazing song.
23. Pieces - This is where that shift occurs. This song is SO heart-felt. I feel like this is on some real shit - a glimpse into the real life of Razakel, not the character, but the person. I can relate to a lot of these lyrics - life is hard, there will always be back-stabbing and bad bloood, but its all about staying by your grotto, true friends, family and fans. The people who most need to hear this song are people who DON'T like Razakel, all those close-minded cunts. If someone thinks Raz is a gimmic, or tries to define her and put her in a box, send them this song and see what they think. Razakel again has really showcased her singing ability on the song - she can belt the tunes when she wants to. The guitar and piano on this track are also amazing and really help with the unique mood. An incredible song, a huge statement from Razakel and a journey into a completely new form of music. Theres alot of beats from Sick on this album, but this one is really unique and different than anything he's ever done before.
24. Absolute Evil/Bleed - Preach Raz! Absolute Evil is a spoken-word track from Razakel, and it has a real hypnotic feel to it. Razakel speaks on the duality of good and evil, the mental programming we are subjected to everyday in this world, the endless lies of government, television broadcasts and radiowaves. The track which comes a few minutes later, Bleed, is nothing short of a beautiful melodic harmonic journey into the mind of Razakel and her love of musick. Let the musick set you free. The song is accapella, no instruments, and is a fucking accomplishment on Razakel's part. It's amazing she was able to make it sound this clear with absolutely nothing but her voice. After the initial giant shift of hearing "Pieces," this song fits very well on the album and is a great way to finish it off. Ties up the character and the person very well into an image we can understand and relate too.
25. KGP Outro - An outro from the UNGOD himself! With HATRED in the background - reminicisent of the Drunk & Disorderly! Hilarious way to end the album with Kap. BUT WHERE'S THE KGP COLLABORATION?! COME ON!! Sheesh. Haha.
Overall, this album is nothing short of another classick from Razakel and the Serial Killin' Records camp. A journey into every aspect of the mind of a female serial killer. Raz has stepped her game up once again to create a masterpiece of wickedry. Improving leaps and bounds since Madness & Despair, Raz has moved onto a whole nother level, strongly declaring her place in the scene, taking her rightful seat on the throne. This album contains the best songs, the best concepts, the best lyrics, and the best imagery that Razakel has come up with yet. Down to the artwork on the album, the production, this CD is amazing. Razakel has surely gone further than any other female in the genre to date and spits just as well as any guy I've heard. Years in the future, people will look back and know that this album was significant to our scene, to our genre. A fucking masterpiece!
We give this album a solid 10 out of 10. AMKR & CRiNGE of Junction: OMEGA

Album review by: [TG] KS Promotions July 12, 2008
Album title: Madness & Despair, 2008 Artist: Razakel Label: Serial Killin Records Pros: Lyrical content, production Cons: None noted Summary: A "must have" addition to your horrorcore collection

Serial Killin Records has once again come through for us with yet another off the hook release. Welcome to the world of Razakel and her latest album "Madness & Despair" , a bizarre twist to the style that we have all come to love over the past few years. Razakel returns with an angry and blasphemous collection of hate filled, insanity ridden, toe curling tracks meant only for the evil at heart.
Despite the bias on female rappers in the horrorcore scene, Razakel has proven once again on "Madness & Despair" that this is where she belongs, standing up toe to toe with her male counterparts. You can expect guest spots by some of horrorcore's finest artists in the scene today, including several of Serial Killin Records own artists. Production is, of course, top notch as always thanks to Serial Killin Records C.E.O. SickTanicK.
Wicked Intent Radio reports postive feedback from listeners and staff and has added Madness & Despair to their daily playlist.
Madness & Despair is currently availiable at KillMusick.
******************** Track analysis:
01. Madness & Despair - "An eye opening and somewhat shocking beginning to "Madness & Despair" as this track begins your journey into the darkest corners of Razakel's mind. Prepare yourselves for what can only be described as a explicit horror filled trip into the world of sin, gore, madness, and death."
