Memorial Fundraiser in LA December 03, 2008 for Gidget Gein aka Brad Stewart. Bands will be playing and all the proceeds will go towards his Memorial Service and plaque at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in LA. We don't actually know how much we are trying to raise, just that we want to raise as much as possible because the more $ the more ornate or grand we can get...the better. Gidget/Brad never did things on a small scale....We want to pay tribute to him fitting to his larger than life talent, personality and heart. We want to get his signature roaches engraved on it and have room for a description fitting to all he was-as much as possible. He loved this cemetery and went often with friends to watch movies and visit those in the beyond. He would just love being memorialized there. The Florida Memorial is still in the works. If we can swing it for the same night-we will. Any questions, Contact us. Spread the word. Thanks A very special person. he will be missed. Gidget Gein (born Bradley Stewart, September 11, 1969 – October 9, 2008) was a American musician, Un-Pop artist. He was the second bassist for Industrial Metal band Marilyn Manson, during which time his stage name was created through the fusion of the names of Gidget (a television character) and Ed Gein (a notorious American serial killer). He was born to a Catholic school teacher and police officer father. As his biological mother and father began to separate, Stewart's early childhood character was molded through an acid-fallout host of 1970s kid shows, AM radio, and drive-in movies, while learning to play guitar from a Catholic priest. In the mid 1980s he would be seen as an occasional clothing model and local band member while spending his leisure time as a south Florida band heckler. His character, style, and reputation caught the attention of a teenage Brian Warner, who would invite Stewart to join Warner's band, then known as Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. The personal stylings, influences, and experiences of each member would showcase as Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids to the south Florida music scene and eventually gain the attention of a newly successful Trent Reznor. As the band became more famous, Gidget's personality was becoming more chaotic through extensive drug use, and other various debauchery. In October 1993, Reznor agreed to rework the production on Marilyn Manson's album, taking them and their tapes to The Record Plant in Los Angeles. On the Christmas Eve of 1993, when finding himself in a hospital bed after a heroin overdose, Manson was forced by the management to drop Gidget by way of a message delivered by Federal Express, to tell him that his services were "no longer needed" at the peak of the band's success and was replaced by the group's former groupie, Jeordie "Gordy" White, otherwise known as Twiggy Ramirez. Noticeably, most of Jeordie White's signature early "Twiggy Ramirez" look, down to the multi-colored dreadlocks, was taken directly from White's girlfriend at the time Jessicka (Jack Off Jill) and Gein himself. After writing a great arsenal of music for the band, Gein then saw a substitution of his style and personality inserted into Marilyn Manson albums for years to come. Earlier songs Gidget had written like "She Isn't My Girlfriend" would be retitled with different lyrics as the song "1996". This pattern in his old band would continue and the colorful, spooky-cartoon, and psychedelic elements and ideas that Gidget represented in Marilyn Manson would eventually become more of a gothic revision for audiences. Gidget's path of indulgence would continue for years after his departure from the band. He moved to New York in 1996, befriending many artists and characters over the next few years. As his own art and ideas began to gather, he formed a group called the Dali Gaggers which featured various displays of degenerate art, ideas, and post-punk styled songwriting ("This is not a band. This is libel, slander, and defamation of character" -GG). By examining the flyers, lyrics, and propaganda in the Dali Gaggers, it is evident that Gidget was a major influence in the earlier Marilyn Manson newsletters, flyers, and song writing. Before the release of the Dali Gaggers only album Confessions of a Spooky Kid, the temptation of the New York city party scene proved to be too strong for Gein and he headed back to Florida in order to kick his drug addiction for good. Once back in Florida, Gidget begun work for the south Florida medical examiner as a "Bag Boy", picking up dead bodies for twenty dollars each and was on call 24 hours a day. Over years of retrieving and cleaning up after the deceased, Gidget continued to gather extreme experiences and ideas for more and more art. His experiences at the medical examiner's office have been documented in various magazines. Over time Gidget formed a friendship with the UNPOP art movement and, surprisingly, a collaboration with Marilyn Manson and Asia Argento in a music video for the song "(s)AINT", which was later banned by Manson's record label Interscope Records. Leaving Florida behind in 2004 and taking his collection with him, Gidget began to execute art and fashion shows in Hollywood, California under the organized name GOLLYWOOD, his success continued to grow with the help of his creative wit, friends and fans. Gein died from a heroin overdose on October 9, 2008 at his home in Burbank, California.

It's hard to believe that I've been out of commission publicly for a year. Even before my self imposed online exile, I was truly weary of communicating online. It's scary! It's always been easier for me to have others communicate for me. (usually that never works out in the end either) For the past year, I've enjoyed online anonymity. I liked being a muse and the person behind the scenes on a few projects. Now, coinciding with my radical physical transformation,(more on that later) it's time to have more of an online presence. Lord knows I have plenty to say!!! I just don't think myspace is the right the site for me anymore. I just got married and don't feel comfortable airing my dirty laundry on what started out as a "dating site".. Also, let's face it, myspace is quite intimating at times. It began to get impossible to get to actual email and requests between all the "hey check out my..." and spam. I felt that if I actually took on the daunting task of answering all emails on myspace I'd not only feel guilty not answering every single one to the best of my ability but be online four hours at a time. So basically I just gave up. No disrespect to myspace, but I feel while I've been in my online exile this site has become inundated with uninspiring crap. Not only that but I've gotten "this error has been forwarded to mySpace's technical group" message about 20 times while trying to update this page. Don't get me wrong, it did serve it's purpose as a great promotional tool, but I just don't feel comfortable blogging here. I've decided to try something new and move my base of operations to uber.com. More on that once my new page is up. Scarling.com & Jessicka.com (which until now was a fan site) will also be updated in the next few weeks. The point of this ramble is: I'm just coming out of newly wed status and trying to get my show back on the road. Scarling. IS writing a new record, it's just taking us a lot longer then we expected to get it off the ground. In the mean time I have a few other things coming up you might be interested in. My first group show. depARTed!!! Where: World Of Wonder Gallery 6650 Hollywood Blvd @Cherokee Hollywood, California 90028 When: Opening reception April 25th 8 PM Who : Jessicka and her "sweet" art depARTed WOW gallery The Ingenues are coming... Source: http://www.maniatv.com/shows/all-access I'm making t his one short and sweet. One because I think you should stop reading this and watch Sam's show immediately. Two, because I get weird about not so inconspicuously plugging my own projects. Samantha Maloney, most widely known as one of the sexiest drummers in Rock, has recently added show host to her already impressive bio. You might already know her from Hole, MotleyCrue, Eagles of Death Metal, and Peaches. She's currently the host of maniaTV's flagship music show, All Access. AA takes the viewer deep inside the world of major artists and showcases the best in new music. Along with the auspicious task of hosting, she and I are currently in the midst of putting the final touches on our new project, TheIngenues. We'll release our first single "Happy For You" later th is month exclusively on uber.com Sam's first show aired 04-15-08, but you can watch it anytime with just a click here: GO GO GO.. whatcha waiting for? http://www.maniatv.com/shows/all-access I've also joined Jared Gold's ....Renegades of Style on uber.com. I'll be blogging up a storm. Oh and as far as my new blogging gig goes -Here's an example: Fruit Fly Confidential. I got married last year! In doing so, I noticed that my straight single male friends have become almost nonexistent. But, oddly enough, my male gay friends have almost doubled or perhaps even tripled in numbers. For years I've been referred to as a "fag hag" and even though this label has been attached to me affectionately", I'd like to say this... no term that ends in "hag" is flattering. I often voice my opposition to the term fag hag regularly. It's not that I am not proud to be surrounded by gay men, actually without them I would be most certainly lost. If I have to be categorized, isn't there a better term.. . Perhaps Fruit Fly... or Queer Dear? This got me to thinking. There have to be plenty of women who are in the same position I am? Women who want to know where to hang with her gays. I mean, I know what people believe to be the psychology of the straight woman- gay men relationship. There are some women who have a tendency to fall in love with gay men without realizing their orientation. I am not one of those. I truly just seem to have the most fun with my male gay friends. I do have one special gay friend in particular. His name is Justin, some of you might know him as the "Homo Merch Cowboy". ( last name withheld to protect him - even though he is farrrrrr from innocent) He and I tend to go on the most unbelievable adventures together, and get into the most sticky and precarious situations. You see he and I both grew up in Florida, were self-styled reject Goth kids (pre- Hot Topic.. thank you very much!) and have known each other for over 10 years. He moved to LA to get in the music business. I moved to LA to record a record. When both of those career choices went bust we decided to stick around and wreck havoc on this fair city. He and I are both over "the business that is music" but not over causing trouble every where we go. We got to brainstorming on how we could capitalize on our weekly adventures, and we came up with the idea of doing a weekly blog , perhaps a "fruit fly's guide to LA" and share our views about restaurants, movies, bars, and LA night life from our unique perspective. We might even develop a rating system... even become the Siskel and Ebert of faggotry....??? Trust me this ain't going to be the adventures of Will and Grace... though I do fashion myself after the charter Karen Walker. I'm going to work out the bugs and logistics of the idea over the next week or so...Ya'll come back now, ya hear? Wow, that was a lot longer then expected but it has been a long time and now you get the gist: change is coming. Change is good. Hopefully you'll bear with me while I make these changes happen. As always thanks for your support and your patience. Jessicka more @ Scarling.

JACK OFF JILL broke up officially mid 2000. There have been no plans made to reform the band anytime in the immediate future.
Here's what Jessicka has to say about the band's breakup!
A lot of people want to know the answer to the question: what happened to JOJ? I'd like to be brutally honest but I fear that later it might come back and bite me in the ass. So I'll give you the edited "Highlights" Magazine" version. For a long time Robin and I had not been getting along. I honestly don't know when it started. She often said she felt like she deserved more credit then she received in JOJ. I know this frustrated her and because of our background and age difference we slowly began to grow apart. During the recording of Clear Hearts Grey Flowers our differences were starting to effect our working relationship. This Is half the reason Michelle Inhell departed for the second time. Although maybe things could have been salvaged if we had both been in the right frame of mind, the pressure of finishing an album, our record company's shady financial deals and emanate collapse, and her need to gain more financial compensation and recognition made the rift between us irreparable.
Mid 2000 (After trying to sell our band for ludicrous amounts of money to major labels Risk Records files for bankruptcy and hands our album over to their Atlanta office 404 records. This leaves CHGF with no promotion, no A&R ,no street team, no money- yet incredibly it still sells every single record they pressed)
August of 2000 I'm frustrated with the record industry and vow never to be in another band. JOJ officially breaks up.
Since JOJ's break up we've gone our separate ways. I stayed in Los Angeles to form scarling. and she moved to Detroit and got married. Afterwards, I later found out that she still has a lot of hard feelings. That is a shame because I have no regrets about the break up, except that I wish I would have left that bad situation sooner.
The one amazing thing that came out of Robin and my split is that I reconnected with Tenni and Michelle from JOJ's original line up. We finally got a chance to air out a lot of our old dirty laundry and found that a lot of JOJ's problems had stemmed from our old bass player's insecurities. But with that said, still the original lineup was quite magic. I wish more people could have seen it.

Well since people keep asking I'll keep posting! This myspace is not run by MEMBERS of JOJ. Yes, they have put in their input but it's run by fans. Pete Kunt helped make it pretty and wrote the bio. Again, It's not run by JOJ because JOJ is not longer a band, as a matter of fact- THEY have NOT been a band for almost 8 years now. That's right JOJ is DEAD and GONE. Sory if you've lived under a rock on Mars and this is the first time you are hearing about this. I mean all you'd have to do it is go to JACKOFFJILL.com I know most of you who have added this account know JOJ is no more, but so many people STILL send emails asking when Jack Off Jill will be playing. They won't be- because they are no longer a band. Also Yes, Jessicka does have a new(ish) band. They are called Scarling. You can find them here. SCARLING's myspace page Add them they are great! But they are NOT like JOJ, so if you are expecting the screamy vocals you will be disappointed. Also if you add Scarling you DO NOT have to delete this account as it's set up for you to enjoy the magic that was JOJ. Also I do not know where to get JOJ merch. Try ebay, I guess? I'll keep posting this until people stop asking. < STRONG>

Before the world was introduced to Marilyn Manson, before the world even knew what sweet dreams were made of, there was Ft. Lauderhell, the Spooky Kids, and Jack Off Jill. Jessicka and I met outside a drug-ridden south Florida discotheque called Squeeze. This is where I single-handedly orchestrated an open mic poetry night, which ended up being the Goth Gong Show. This would later become our headquarters and home away from home. After our less-than-stellar meeting, I became the great Oz to her Dorothy. (Little did either of us know she would become my long time friend and confidant) And Ft. Lauderdale our yellow brick road of sorts… Our golden trail leading out of humid hell and onto bigger and better things.
Jessicka came off like a Goth-rock Paula Abdul who borrowed some of her look from the then-trendy riot grrls and threw in a dash of blood, glitter, morbid humor, little girl charm, and Boy George-meets-Lydia Lunch, making it her signature kinder Goth look all her own. Of course, she added a few of Satan's recommendations in the overall "how-to-get-ugly-and-be-hated-overnight" routine that I had mastered effortlessly. (It was a look that would then in turn be borrowed by her ex-boyfriend and my former bass player, who at the time was still doing head spins in a Metallica cover band. I had yet to pluck him from obscurity like silly putty, shaping a rock star… but that's another story.)
Every Dorothy needs a lovable scarecrow, cowardly lion, and a tin man (or woman) to spit on.
Jessicka's band was like vomit after an all-you-can-eat musical buffet. They got lucky -- they could all actually play, (but who gives a shit?) especially with then drummer, Tenni A-cha-cha. (She had some unpronounceable, foreign last name, so "A-Cha-Cha" was fine by me.) She and Jessicka formed the core of the rotten apple of a band. After playing together for sometime, they recruited bass player Robin "Agent" Moulder, who to me, was like a music teacher who never made it . She was condescending to anyone younger than she was (which was pretty much anyone we knew). Imagine Teri Garr playing in the remake of "Freaky Friday." Last to be added to the band was guitarist Michele Inhell. (She was a quiet lesbian who transformed herself into a guitar playing Tank Girl.) I liked her the most and she even let me film her urinating. After this line-up was congealed for a few weeks, I scraped them up and got them their first show at a redneck club in Davie, Florida called The Plus Five Lounge, which was owned by a Jewish mobster named Duke. I strongly suggested the name "Jack Off Jill" at a rehearsal one night in Tenni's living room -- it was just slightly more offensive than their original moniker, "Jack In Jill." I also insisted that Jessicka not be afraid to use the word "cunt" and it became a slogan on their first T-shirt. Our crowd and peers took to their band right away. After the first show, we played together on a very regular basis becoming what some of the other local bands around town would coin "the traveling freak show". Perhaps we were a freak show, but one that could have out-drawn any and all local bands put together. There was something special about the combination and later I'd come to find it was that we were a family. We were a family of smart kids who, once finding each other, were no longer the singular black clad weirdoes in a world of K-Marts, strip malls, shorts, sandals, and suntan lotion.
The turning point for both bands' notoriety came when Jessicka and I realized we'd turned evil. The definitive moment came outside a Miami Sub's. (A neon green Emerald City of fast food and failure.) Neither the elderly crowd nor the belligerent kid behind the counter had any inkling that this was the moment we lost our souls. At that time, I don't know if Jessicka was crazy, retarded, or fearless -- maybe all of the above. Numerous times she punched, kicked, bled on, and spit in the faces of our common enemies, and that only transcended tenfold to what she did onstage. We simply did not give a fuck, but in a way that looked, felt, and sounded amazing. In exchange for her loyalty, I produced some of the band's early recordings that I still insist are their best work to date. Yes, Jack Off Jill was a band that could play and put on a show, better than all of the other south Florida drivel that was gracing the stages at the time. Well, except for my band, of course. But again, that's another story.
Perhaps if Jack Off Jill would have had the right record label or if they had held onto their original members instead of recruiting replacements from the local white trash trailer park collective. Or maybe if I would have stuck around the picture longer, they could have been bigger than certain other drug-abusing coattail riding female fronted bands that have topped the charts in the past 10 years. I gave Jessicka her first show with the Spooky Kids, and handed her the ruby red slippers. Little did she know they'd never fit while she was in Jack Off Jill. Perhaps in a round about way, that was my greatest gift to her.
There's no place like home,
MM
