Hello Friends.

California was a blast and the new record sounds great so far. it was a pleasure working with Dave, Bryan, Anette, Peter and John at Tranzformer Studios. we still have much work to do on that front, but we'll be sure to keep you up to date. for now, here is the track listing (in no particular order):
1. The Accident
2. RMS Carpathia
3. How to Get Out of Here
4. Tremors and Quakes

/

We're doing a handful of shows this month starting with Friday, April 10th in Lexington at the Skylight Lounge. The Louisville show on the following night was canceled due to a member of Trophy Wives sustaining an injury while performing in Chicago. apologies to Louisville fans, we're going to get that show rescheduled as soon as we can.

We'll be back in Cincy (err..Newport) on Friday, April 17th at the Southgate House Parlor. then at CBR's in Columbus on the 18th. and finally, at the Northside Tavern on Friday, April 24th for the Mona Medusa CD Release show.

our Lexington show at Skylight lounge was featured in this commercial:

Current mood:  excited

We're off to make a record! well, industry demo, technically. we've been ironing out the details for a while now and it seems as though they're nailed down enough to share some info with you, our friends.

The Host (that's us) will be traveling to sunny California late this March to record with world renowned producers, Dave Jerden and Bryan Calstrom.  these guys are the producing team that brought us Janes Addiction, Alice in Chains and many, many more great artists. as you can imagine, we're extremely effin excited.

The plan is to record this "demo", and have it "shopped" around in order to obtain more "money". with said "money" in hand, we would return to the studio and finish the"album". see how that works? with this in mind, there is currently no release date set. but hang in there, we'll get this record out. we promise.

Greetings friends. It's been a while since you've heard from us, but we think you'll find it was worth the wait. We've been busy putting together some new tunes that we are very proud of, and we're currently working out the details for recording them. We will be sure to keep you informed of further developments.

If you check our upcoming shows calendar you'll see that we're back on stage this February. We have a handful of shows coming up with some really great bands, so be sure to check back and stay on the ball!

94.9 The Sound Contest:
We've also entered ourselves into another shameless contest in hopes of striking fame and fortune the super easy way (God forbid we work for it, right?). So help us out by going here and vote for us. We are located at the bottom of the page.

We had an amazing time last night at the Midpoint Music Festival. Special thanks to everyone that came out early to catch our set, and to everyone that assisted us with the merch booth.  It was a great show overall and we hope to do it again next year.

If you haven't already, check out our live 'fan submitted' videos from Chicago.  We have scientifically grafted the lyrics on to the screen to enhance your experience.

Enjoy.

Hello!!

Just a reminder that this Saturday, September 6th is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk-For-A-Cure at Kings Island. We've been taking donations for our walk team and we'll be participating this weekend.
This is your last chance to donate to support the cause or join the walk team!

A few of you have donated already and we just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! Most of you know that this past year that our singer, Chris Charlton, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and it's been a difficult time, but he's pushed through it and tried to make the best of it. Including proceeds from our CD Release Show in May, our donations have risen to nearly $1400.
00!!

Our goal was $
1500.00, so we are VERY close!

If you have a few dollars you can donate (via the link below), please do so. It's a great cause. And not just for us, but for all the little ones who have to deal with this their entire lives. It's incredibly stressful on them and their parents and difficult to manage on a daily basis.

Here is the link:
http://walk.jdrf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=extranet.personalpage&confirmid=87013638

From there you can donate or join the walk!! If you know anyone who may be interested in donating to the cause or joining the walk, please forward this along!

Thank you again.
I hope this last little push will help us reach our goal!!

Can't make it to our Warped Tour shows in Cleveland and Detroit? Don't Worry.

We'll be updating our Twitter microblog while on the road. Find out how our shows are going, where we've been, how the other bands are sounding, the type of sandwiches we're eating, how many times our van has broken down, and any other minutia along the way. We're going to try and give you the sensation of BEING THERE.

Just go to http://www.twitter.com/thehostband to see our latest ramblings. Or better yet, if you are a Twitter user than subscribe to our tweets and have them sent to your cell phone for minute-by-minute Host action.

Cheers,
Tim K

Want to request The Host on your favorite radio station? Well here is a list of confirmed stations that have played and/or have us in full rotation!

But...We are pretty damn sure we sent every station in the country a copy of our EPs ... so if you REALLY want to convince them to dig through that pile of unsolicited mail, give them a ring! (it's the one that smells like Otto's jacket)
