Please visit the Halo Pets Blog to read the continuation of my article, Diary of a Stray Cat Mommy Part 2. Here is an excerpt:

Little MarleyMarley is half the size of her siblings and is completely malnourished. She is making steady progress and is finally able to move, meow, eat and go to the bathroom on her own. She still isn't able to support herself to sit upright or walk, but she's trying. Thankfully, I work out of my home office so I am here to give her the 24-hour-a-day care that she requires.

Again, if you could, please visit the Halo Pets Blog to read the rest of this article. Make sure to digg it, share it, link to it, or leave a comment. In the near future, I'll be posting an update on how the first litter of kittens are doing. They are about 5 month old already, so I'll make sure to include lots of pictures to show how much they have grown. Thanks again for your anticipated support!

I'm very excited to announce that I got the opportunity to share my kitten and feral cat rescue story on the Halo Pet's Blog! Here is an excerpt:

MarleyI live in a busy suburban neighborhood located minutes outside of Baltimore City. Between people ignoring the stray cat population in the area and all of the un-spayed/un-neutered "house cats" that are allowed to roam the streets, my neighborhood has become home to an overwhelming amount of feral cats.

If you live in an area overrun with stray or feral cats like I do, there are countless reasons why you should act to help them, one of which, Marley, is sitting next to me right now.

within the next few days for Part 2 of the article. Thanks for your anticipated support!

Current mood:  hopeful
Category: Pets and Animals

A week or so ago I posted a bulletin hoping to find homes for four wonder 8-week old kittens. Well, now that I've found their sister there are five and I am even more desperate to place them permanent, loving homes. Let me explain...

Last week, a kid from the neighborhood came to my door, crying, letting me know that she had found the other kittens... When I saw the kittens, I couldn't believe my eyes. One was laying motionless with her entire face, neck and chest covered in blood... The other was dead. Someone or something had attempted to kill them. My husband and I rushed the poor bloody kitten to the animal ER, assuming we'd need to have her put to sleep. She was freezing cold, gasping for air and wasn't moving. The vet decided that she was suffering from severe head trauma, was dehydrated, malnourished, and needed to be admitted immediately. Eventually she began making some progress. So a few days and $1000 later, little Marley came home with us:

She needs 24/day care. We are still having a hard time keeping her temperature regulated and she is still mostly paralyzed. She finally has regained a little movement in her right paw and is able to eat and drink on her own. She is even able to sit up (kinda) with a little help and loves being reunited with her siblings:

So if you would like to adopt one of the other baby kitties or now someone who does, contact me. They need to be placed in permanent homes where they will receive lots of love and attention. The only condition is: if you find that you can't provide that for them, you need to give them back to me so I can find someone who can -they've been through a lot and truly deserve the best.

To see more photos of the babies, check out my flickr page. And please, send me a message or email me (krissy@6bdesign.com) if you would be interested in adopting one of these wonderful, affectionate, loving kittens.
