Here are some pictures from the closing exhibition at the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester featuring 3 of the finest burlesque performers in the country, Fanny Divine, Lola Pops and Daison Merriere. They were modeling outfits based on my work by Kiku, the Manchester corsetry boutique. You can find Fanny on my myspace page friends. If you would like to have a outfit of any kind made then visit Kiku at http://www.kikuboutique.co.uk/

Richard Goodall closing show

The Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester UK has a closing show of my
work and there are going to be Burlesque people there...sometimes I
wish I made a bigger effort to leave my house and go see some of these
shows. I think it would be fun to meet Fanny Divine as she might let me
examine her corset.

Ray Caesar Burlesque Event April 21st

Fanny Divine with Ray Caesar's Side Saddle

Fanny Divine with Ray Caesar's Side Saddle

This
series of new works consist the largest pieces to date by Caesar. The
oversize pieces transport us to the weird and wonderful world inhabited
by Caesar’s impossible creations. Intricate and engrossing, disturbing
yet beautiful. Also on view will be the final pieces of Caesar’s
previous works, exclusively available from the gallery. His work is
highly sought after and is in the collections of many famous collectors
and institutions. The event is proudly supported by Kiku, Barefoot Wine, and Vitamin Water

I have a new book that took forever to make.
I don't actually sell them or anything as I am a bit too lazy for that kind of organized efficiency. Actually the book came out a while ago but I have just got around to mentioning it.

There is a regular book and some thingcalled "a limited edition" which has a print and is in a nice black cloth covered box. They tell me this is what one does when one has a book ... they failed to tell me I had to sign 500 of them which involved my wife Jane looking at me across the table and shaking her head as she had to number them instead of going shopping. First I tried to number them but dyslexia is an odd and unpredictable affliction that kicks in after the number 17....or  71. Needless to say I had enough trouble writing my name 500 times and got multiple spasms and a soretongue ( as I often have it outside of my mouth and off to the left as I do tricky things ) and I developed a general dislike for the inventorof the pencil.....Mr. H.B. Laurentian.

Its put out by Mark Murphy publishing at http://www.murphydesign.com/

orhis blog at http://murphydesign1.blogspot.com/ or you can email my gallery and ask for it at info@thejonathanlevinegallery.com I think there are some other places you can get it but one place you cant is from me ......... I once mailed a letter and it came back to me because I put my own address on it in the spot I was supposed to put the actual address on ... I then refused the letter which sent it back to the sender which was the person I actually wanted to send it to...unfortunately I failed to put the actual letter in the envelope......That's my Nutshell in a Life

I don't blog often so lets see if I remember how to do this.

I would love to thank everyone for all the wonderful mail I get and I try to reply to as much as I can .... I read everything and sneak around on almost everyones page but I have fallen asleep at my keyboard at 4am on too many occasions to believe I can reply to everything. I will try and use this blog thing more often to post any other upcoming events or just to ramble a bit and apologize for any trouble I may have gotten myself into.

I get a lot of mail about purchasing work and although all of the single pieces are sold and there is not much left of the prints but hopefully the links below will provide some options.

I am represented by the Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York and anyone can view available work at their gallery at http://www.jonathanlevinegallery.com/ under the "artists" section.
Then its best to email brandi@jonathanlevinegallery.com for prices and such....dont ask me about prices as to perfectly honest I havent got a fricken clue.

I also have some work at the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester UK at www.richardgoodallgallery.com but its a big website and rather tricky to find stuff so maybe its best just to email Richard at richard@richardgoodallgallery.com. I just finished a big solo show there last September and I will post some pics in this blog....strangely there is not a single person in the pictures the gallery sent and I suspect no one showed up at all.

Also showing some work during October at Mondo Bizzarro Gallery in Rome and their website is http://www.mondobizzarro.net

All of the above galleries have friend links on my myspace page. You might find some pieces at other galleries like www.magda-gallery.com in Paris and possibly http://www.kochxbos.nl/... in Amsterdam .... not sure if Magda has a myspace page.

I will also be on the cover of a special issue of Pol Oxygen that should be on the shelves around November 2007 I think there are quite a few images in the mag and I suspect it is on some rather nice paper.

Lets see ... my Book will come out soon I suppose. Its all a bit of a mystery to me but Mark Murphy has probably gotten about as much as he can get out of me for this. There is a lot more in the book than anyone has ever seen .. lots of sketches and studies and forgotten pieces I just havent been able to finish because I am essentially a lazy procrastinator who would rather put off till tomorrow what I dont really want to do today. I will post more about this as it happens but to be honest I find the whole the process like sitting in math class back in 1974...complicated....with Mr. Murphy shouting "CAESAR .....stop daydreaming and sit up straight..put out the gum and for the love of God! .........stop braiding Linda Avery's hair and keep your hands to yourself"

The show was called Ipso Facto ???? don't ask me it was his Idea.
