Current mood:  productive

How can an artform survive if the patrons of it can't be bothered to help support it? How many times do I hear "Come on bro, do it for the scene"

How many times do I hear that from promoters and yet they expect me to take time out of my creative process to fly somewhere for the love of it, but they can't be bothered to get people to cough up $5 to support the very artists that are creating the music they "love". Yet its these very same people trying to get in for free to meet there dealer to pick up another baggy...ironic isn't it?

If you really value the artist and his work than dig into those pockets you cheap bastards and support, put your money where your mouth is. Same for promoters, if your doing this for charity then you might as well go help out Red Cross, you'll do more good that way.

It has become a society of disposable goods...movies, tv, music..all disposable. House music is an extension of the one true great american artforms..jazz. The Derrick May's, Carl Craigs, and Jeff Mills are the Miles Davis's of this generation (some are saying, who are they? thats my point)

If something is truly valued by its people then its worth the support...go out and get a job and pay for once, and for god sake throw away those glow sticks already!
