The Official Ganja Farmer Video to be Shot in Uganda.

After much deliberation, Marlon Asher and his team return to Uganda in November to shoot the official Ganja Farmer Video. After receiving over 4 million hits on you tube, the singer has decided to produce the video his fans have been waiting for. What pressure! While in Uganda, Marlon is expected to do a guest appearance at Henry Tigan's album release concert. Together the singers have collaborated on two works My Country as well as World of Scandals which also features empress Rita.

Marlon Asher, after his very successful European tour in June has been busy working on new projects. The first order of business will be his new limited edition TShirt named "Marlon Asher - the Ganja Farmer." ..Reggae lovers had a glorious time at Club Alchemy on Tragarete Road, in Port-of-Spain. It was April Fools’ Day but Marlon Asher was not joking around that night. The reggae artiste, who has been making headway in the USA and recently finished performances in California, was back home and eager to please fans. Woodruffe, Marlon’s manager, confirmed that his client’s European tour scheduled for the end of May, starting with Germany Carnival, is still on. He said Jah Melody would be accompanying Asher.

Woodruffe gave some insight of the soca artistes who are also
scheduled to make the trip giving the assurance that he and his
contingent were focused on T&T.

Woodruffe said: “Marlon is making great headway as he was the headline act for all of his most recent performances and is filling the foreign clubs without any Jamaican artistes on the roster.” Asher said he would be doing a collaboration with Jamaican reggae star Munga in the near future.
At Alchemy, Asher released two new songs that were recorded in
Berlin—The Right Stuff and Feel the Fire—both recorded by Jamaican
producer Sting Ray. The latter song was done on the Ska rhythm. Asher
fans can look forward to his new album which is due for release in two
months. The album will contain only new hits.

Those of you who will be in Jamaica on May 2-3 can view the artiste when he performs in Montego Bay.

Marlon Asher the Ganja Farmer in Riddim Magazine

Riddim Magazine gave the ganja man a positive review from his performance in Cologne, Germany in October 2008. Be sure to look out for a review of the new album "Unconditional Love" in the next issue of Riddim Magazine. Here's a lil taste of what Riddim Magazine had to say:

" This young man from Trinidad and Tobago has more to him than one giant hit ...After a half hour of the Riddim of "Ganja farmer" forwards, the massive crowd reacted frenetically. Marlon Asher heated up the place and in addition to the The Ganja Farmer, he sang first of all a Medley of well known Ganja Anthems, like "Gimme Di Weed" and "Legalize it" and then dropped the "Ganja Farmer". The mood was insane now on the highpoint and Marlon Asher after singing his hit tune time after time finally had to take his leave of the stage. After a good half hour, the man, who works in Trinidad as a Steelpan teacher, disappeared then, and a satisfied public left behind."

The Ganja Farmer Featured on Showtime/The Tripper this week

You may or may not know that the Ganja Farmer (the song, not the person) is featured in David Arquette's debut directorial political satire, The Tripper. If you enjoy some good hippie action (lots of herb talk in this movie) along with some BS politics all formed into a slasher/thriller (in time for Halloween), check out the movie, The Tripper.

The Ganja Farmer is featured approximately 40 minutes into the film. It's a good time to relax and ketch a good meditation.

Marlon Asher in Amsterdam!

Hello myspace fans!

This is just a quick hail up to let you know that although I am busy over here in Europe, things are well. I'm new to the blog thing so if you are missing pieces of my journey, I will try to get you pictures as soon as I can find a cable for my camera that can work over here. I almost forgot about the 220 volts!

It was a bit of a journey getting to Germany from Trinidad (via London) but everything was cool once I touched down. It's been hectic but I finally got to bless up the place I've been longing to hit up for a long time- Amsterdam. I passed through briefly last year on my way to Africa but this time, I got to sing The Ganja Farmer for people who truly appreciate the tweebs! You dun kno! I wish I had more time to go from shop to shop to just sample all the herbs and the tweebs in all of Amsterdam, but a work mi come fi work, so I had to roll, puff and sing. I loved the greeting I got in Melkweg, Amsterdam and I hope to be back out here sometime soon.

MARLON ASHER - THE GANJA FARMER DEDICATES HIS NEW SINGLE TO THE PEOPLE OF KENYA.

January 9, 2008

After a successful tour of Africa in summer of 2007, Marlon Asher is proud to release his new track "Scandals" which he is dedicating to the people of Kenya in this time of political and social crisis.

Asher visited Kenya in August 2007 and was given a warm reception by the people of Nairobi. In a spirit of peace, he is offering this song hoping that harmony is restored to the nation that greeted him with such love and respect.

Scandals is a spiritually soulful collaboration that seeks a peaceful submission in its message. A combination of Marlon Asher's distinctive reggae style infused with the fortitude of the African people. The track, which was recorded in Uganda, features native Ugandan singers Henry Tigan and Empress Rita. The video was also shot in Uganda at a sugar cane village just outside of Jinja and will be released February, 2008.

Marlon Asher is best known for his hit single "The Ganja Farmer". Currently Marlon Asher is completing tracks to facilitate his long anticipated album release in 2008.
