Ok, sorry I've been AWOL on this page for so long.  I work so much on a computer for work during the day that it's so hard to open one during off time (what little I get!)

The new season preparations have started.  The MA's have lost four amazing ladies and skaters who entered the draft to help make this season's games even more competative and exciting.  Balls out Betty is now a Story Villan, Deb U Taunt and Beatrix Skiddow are now Crescent Wenches, and F.N. Trouble has joined her derby wife with the Confederacy of Punches.

While we're sad to see them leave, we have a saying:  MA's for LIFE!  We are so excited to get to play some tough derby.

In addition to these moves, we have had the honor of gaining some new players: DuMaine Attraction, Jambot, and Mudflap Girl.  They are so amazing and will REALLY make a big splash this season.

Keep up to date on the schedule, etc. by checking out www.bigeasyrollergirls.com

What an amazing and wonderful first bout of the season!  I am so excited and thrilled to be on the Marigny Antoinettes--the best team EVER!

Special shout out goes to F.N. Trouble--our MVP for this bout.  You definately showed this city that it needs a little trouble!

Also of great note:  Balls Out Betty! You are a great blocker, great jammer, great captain, and brilliant at line ups!

Deb U Taunt--fantastic hits last night.  You really brought your A game.

Queen - You just keep getting better and better.  It's wonderful to see!

Mascara--thank GOODNESS we had you as our bench coach.  When we listened to you, we did great!

Ruffit, Anti Em, and Ibeatya Amber- OMG  you guys are rock stars.  Taking hits, giving hits, using those booties to block-a-bitch.  It was a beautiful thing.

Loco Bambino and Luvinblood - I know you guys wanted to be out on the track.  But having you guys in the box to manage our penalties, keep track of everything, and assist Mascara really made a difference.  Not to mention cheering us on!

Trixie la Femme--soo amazing.  You are like a freakin energizer bunny!  And the best dressed while whizzing through the pack!

Beatrix Skiddo- Such a leader last night.  You did everything we asked and brought that fire.  You played every position, scored a zillion points, and gave great insight into strategy.  You are truley the total package.

To all the lovely ladies on the Marigny Antoinettes--Thank you for such a great season opener.  Here's to more victories in the future!

Hey all you Snatch-fans!

It's time for an all new season of Big Easy Rollergirls Action. Our first bout will be a double-header with all four teams playing! We have a ton of great new skaters, and my team in particular has been lucky enough to get some fabulous new blood. Some skaters are new to derby all together, and one is a powerful vet from the mid west. I'm also lucky enough to have that vet as a co-captain this year.

Stay tuned for info on our new team name, new photo, and new team line up!

Many of you may know, but at the last BERG bout I took a tough (and legal) hit and ended up with a broken ankle.  Thankfully, the doctors were able to repair it surgically and I'm walking on it once again.

Unfortunately, just two days ago, another fabulous BERG beauty, Cheap Thrill, broke her leg in three places at practice.  Please check the BERG website for fundraising opportunities to assist Cheap Thrill who is without medical insurance.  She needs our help!

For everyone wanting to find out about getting an elusive "I heart Snatch" Shirt--send me an email to powersnatch@cox.net for all the details.

What a wonderful experience.  The Carries (my fabulous teammates) led the entire bout and won the whole shabang!  Don't be fooled though, the Rinkwraiths put up a mighty fight and our victory was only by a slim margin.

Both teams exhibited their best efforts and tenacity.  But the will of the Carries, even skating without two valuable injured skaters, carried the day.

Check out the highlights and stats at www.bieasyrollergirls.com

Our next bout is on November 18th at Mardi Gras World.  Get those tickets early or you'll miss out on all the action.  This time we will be skating as the "Axels of Evil" against the "Legion of Zoom" both evil super-villians.  What's your favorite evil???

I hope everyone got their tickets early for the second bout of the Big Easy Rollergirls inagural season.  We sold out almost two full weeks early!

Saturday, October 21, 2006, come one and all to see the Carries take on the Rinkwraiths.  Our team, the Carries, will be slaughtering the other team and leaving nothing but a blood trail.  If you are lucky, you might catch a trinket.

Thanks to all who made the Big Easy Rollergirls first bout such a great success.  It was amazing to skate that track and hear the roar of crowds calling our names.

Although victory was not for the Aints that night, we shall soldier on.  The true winner was the league, with tickets selling out by 11 am day of bout.

So be warned--the Big Easy Rollergirls are here to stay and ready to keep on rocking.  We're hittin hard and skating fast.  So buy those tickets early next time if you missed it.  Our next bout is on October 21st-Mardi Gras World - doors open at 6 and the action starts at 7.

It's been a year since we packed up one car with two people, two dogs, and what belongings would fit, and drove for two days to get to Texas and avoid a storm and flood.  When we left, we had no idea that our efforts to clean out the fridge and secure our lawn furniture would be ridiculously futile.

Our home was hit with massive winds and water.  It stood, pushed into a 70 year old Magnolia tree, for weeks with 8 feet of water destroying anything that remained though the storm.  Our steel front door was blown in, and the roof taken off the back of the house.  We never did see where the pool went.

We're now in a new house, new neighborhood, working on getting back to abnormal.  We can't remember what normal feels like.  Sometimes, it seems it would be easier to just run away from this half-broken city as fast as we can.  But, our feelings would come with us.  We can't erase what we've seen and felt.  We could span the earth and never escape what's living inside our hearts.  So we stay and work and try to live.

We'll be happy again--there are great moments even now.  But it will take time.  How long?--hopefully not too long.

So it's derby photo time, and I've gone WAY out there.  In my humble hommage to Jennifer Beals and my childhood in the 80's, my derby photo is now posted for the world to see.

Now--I want to see your totally 80's photos!  I know you guys have them hidden away somewhere--in an old photo album; in your old yearbook.

Were you a prep?  A vally girl?  A surfer dude?  Lemme hear from you!
