Many of you know that my Daddy died back in the spring. It's been a rough year not only in grieving the loss of a very good man, but family 'stuff' as well. We all work our grief and stress out in many different ways and my way isn't any better or less valid than your's or the pain that you experience. For me, I work it out with writing songs.

There will be a new, full-length CD out probably next spring or summer. We've had a 'changing of the guard' with guitar players, so that learning curve thing is in works.

Praying people out there...just keep us in mind when you go before the throne of God's grace.

Pax,

How 'bout this for a soothing color? Or...thissss...ewww....
forget it...We'd love to see you at the 4th Ave. Gallery in Ann Arbor, tomorrow- July 3 @ 7'ish. You can't beat the banter that'll go on betwixt and between Tom & I and we'll bring out a couple of new tunes for you as well. Would you like a free CD? Remind me that you saw that written on this here blog and I'll put one in your precious wee hands (or big 'en).

Many of you may know that I lost my Daddy last Sunday to prostate cancer. He fought the good fight, people. All along the way he was careful to thank God for pain free moments. How many of us could even begin to do that? We'd probably curse God or just plain ol' curse and moan! Well, any way...he was a good man that loved the Lord. My sisters and I recorded an impromptu hymn that was his favorite- "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". I've uploaded it and I hope you enjoy it.

Pray for Buddy and Julie Miller as Buddy recuperates from triple bypass surgery.  A great man and a great talent.

Went back to the studio @ Dan Hazlett's to tweak "Marveline". Upon listening to the previous mixdown, I realized that I hadn't been true to my original concept or image of a more "dream-like" quality to  the tune. Dan slipped in a little decay & more reverb, and voila.....sweeetness. Now it'll be off to Tim Pak for mastering....wooohoooo!!!

Update here on our CD...Ok, so we’ve made this decision to put out a 5-track EP. For the sake of promoters and such, this seems like the best thing for us to do at present. More than likely we’ll start working on a full-length CD come fall. That’s the plan, Stan et al.

Lawdy, lawdy, Miss Claudy...we're workin' hard on a CD that is a long time a comin'. Our studio is over at songwriter-guitarist extraordinaire, Dan Hazlett's place. The other night, I thought I was fixin' to have church when vocalist, Ms. Toni Erskine of Hardline Drive, provided her gorgeoussss voice to "Marveline". The song is not just a "vision" any more...it's becoming what I dreamed it could be. Along with Toni, the dobro/guitarist for Hardline, Greg Fuson, added his soulful, melancholic (is that a word?) interpretation to the song. Greg also gave an eerie, tension-filled slant on "My Momma's People". This guy has got to be Jerry Douglass' long-lost cousin or something. He channels quite the Douglass vibe w/his own lil' "somethin', somethin".

Keepin' ya up to date...
