Ive been working on a new track to Up load but have been set back somewhat due to a motherboard issue on my HP tx1080ea. Basically my machine is dying due to a design fault that does not allow for adequite expasion from heat generated by the chip set and causing the motherboard to warp and cause bad connectons leading to various components to fail. The first thing to go is the wlan card it just dissapears completely which is what I've had eventually according to the message boards see below the machine will die completely. HP fails to acknowledge the issue saying that they have not have enough cases to warrant any action in other words you are just a number and we dont care.

They have acknowledged the issue with the DV6000 and issued an extended warranty but this does not cover the tx1000 series even though it uses the same chipset and wlan combo and probably similar motherboard.

The really shoddy thing is I use this laptop for my dayjob as a graphic designer and Ive been out of work for a few months due to the recession so I do not have money to buy a new laptop or even get this one repaired even though if I did have this done the some issue would arise in about 8 months time.

I strongly recommend anyone thinking of buy any computer products soon to avoid HP altogether for poor products, support and business practices. And to any one using a HP product using AMD turion and broadcom technology to contact hp support if you are expriencing wlan issues or have a unit that is running really hot.

So there seems to be a problem with the Nvidea 6150 chip set that HP fail to acknoledge the tx1000 series seems to have even tho they recalled the dv6000 series which had the exact same chipset installed. even apple have said they would repair all laptops with this chipset that incur a fault for free.
