Whilst we have certainly enjoyed each and every client we have repped over the years, it is the independent artists that have been the primary bread and butter for OGPR. We love the spirit of the independent artist and thrive on the creativity it takes to help them flourish. In this failing economy and a music industry rife with uncertainty, it is only those with the indomitable spirit to forge new paths towards success that will stand the test of time. HipHopFriends, Inc. embodies that spirit and OGPR is proud to welcome them aboard as our latest client.

Comprised of CEO's/artists/tour bookers/promoters and internet radio station owners and operators, Feygens "ChuckieBigBux" and Erick "DirtE Dread" Saint-Joy aka The E&J Brothaz; who are actually siblings, HipHopFriends, Inc. has been quietly building a brand that is getting them recognition far afield of their native town of Elmont, in New York's Long Island borough. Their current single, Private Party, is in fact impacting cities in every region - speading slowly from coast to coast - with close to 1,000 spins currently and counting. Produced by GiftRAP, a Santa Barbara , CA up-and-comer, Private Party infuses the best of East Coast lyricism with West Coast swagger and a dash of Southern spice.

Taking advantage of the love the Southern market has shown them, the two paired up with franchise DJ's Bigga Rankin and DJ Smallz last year, dropping successful mix albums with each, both released on USB drives and downloaded digitally to over 20,000 HipHopFriends™ fans across the country. Bigga Rankin was in fact so impressed with the duo's hustle that he bestowed upon them his coveted Ghetto Diamond Award in the "Go Gettaz" category - the only New Yorkers to date to have received such an honor.

Although HipHopFriends™ and The E&J Brothaz began releasing music in 2004 and have several award-winning videos to their credit (The Golden Aurora Award, The Communicators Award & The Platinum AVA), their music hustle is not the only thing receiving accolades. HipHopFriendsOnline, the duo's web radio station, recently won an SEA (Southern Entertainment Award) for "Best Internet/Satellite Radio", proving once again that the HipHopFriends, Inc. brand defies geographical boundaries.

Self-titled promo tours in cities as diverse as their radio impact markets have been sponsored by the likes of IAR ( Institute of Audio Research ), Sam Ash Music, Royal Blunts, Azzuré Denim and Lyrical Legends™, ensuring HipHopFriends™ an ever-widening, nationwide network of fans.

With another round of stations set to add Private Party in the coming weeks, a music video in the works and their own IAR-sponsored event (DIY: Starting Your Own Record Label) aimed at schooling others in the indie music game, coming up in NYC in October; their third such event, HipHopFriends™are the paradigm for today's independent label. About the Aurora Awards
Since time began the invisible creative forces that power our universe have illuminated the polar darkness with a phenomenon called the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis. This same phenomenon also occurs in the Antarctic sky of the Souther Hemisphere as well, called the Aurora Australis. These majestic stardust curtains have transfixed their global audiences with their majestic displays of celestial color and light. _The Aurora Awards celebrates this same ability of media creators around the world by recognizing this same ability to caotuvate audiences by their creative displays of color and light. Competitors come from the independent, corporate, and freelance production groups, advertising agencies, broadcast stations, large and small.

The Aurora Awards is a international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. It specifically targets products, programs and commercials that would not normally have the opportunity to compete on a national level, by focusing on non-national commercials, regional or special interest entertainment and corporate sponsored film and video. Entries have come from across the US, and abroad. such as Russia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Germany, Australia, Mexico, etc.

Judging
The judging functions are performed by panels of working film and video professionals that are set up in major cities across the country. Most are writers, producers or directors who are previous award winners. Judges with specific proficiencies are matched with specific categories; for example music composers sit on the original music panels. _The basic premise of the judging structure for the Aurora Awards is based on the importance of receiving the endorsement of your peers to verify your work is outstanding. Programs are judged on a fixed scale in areas of creativity, message effectiveness and technical excellence. Added together this provides a score that is measured against an absolute scale to determine if the program is award worthy or not. Using this method there could be several winners in one category or none at all. Overall scores from each panel are also compared to a statistical model to see if there is a consistency and fairness in each panel. If there_appears to be a problem, the tapes may be sent to a second panel to assure a consistent and fair judging process.

The Awards
Winners may be awarded a "Platinum Best of Show" or a "Gold Award". The Best of show is the highest honor given. Only about one in ten receive this honor, while about two out of ten receive the Gold Award

The Statue

The Aurora statue itself was commissioned specifically for the competition by a nationally renowned sculptor. Its strong vertical lines and flowing form were designed to embody the creative reach for higher ground. The statues are cast in the same foundry that creates the Emmy, Oscar and Clio statues. On its pedestal, the Aurora stands just over fourteen inches tall and weighs about five pounds. _The Certificates_The Aurora certificates are also custom designed. Each is individually embossed and foiled with a holographic film that gives the three dimensional look unique to this competition.

NOTES:
A Meaningful Award..._The Aurora is hard to win, no question. We did that because the Aurora Award has to mean something! When you win an Aurora, the prestige and credibility factors for you are extremely high. For twelve years we have worked to establish that reputation. Every year we hear from people who have won other "give away" competitions who didn't win an Aurora. Rest assured that Aurora judging is stringent._Don't be discouraged from trying, though. With an Aurora entry, you are not competing against peers with potentially a much bigger budget than yours - you are competing against an absolute threshold of excellence. If your piece meets all the judging criteria, artistic and technical, to a certain high, but attainable, level, then you will win!__

The Aurora Awards are not a "buy an award" video competition. When you win an Aurora, you know you've made something good.

Among Friends Records lends their support @ World AIDS DAY Concert in MIAMI

On December 1st, the world comes together and recognizes that date as World AIDS Day. In the beautiful city of downtown Miami, city officials raised HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention with an outdoor concert. The concert was located at the Torch of Friendship Memorial in Bayside. Among Friends Records chart topping artists the E&J Blood Brothaz lent their support by entertaining the family orientated crowd with their hit single "Stand Clear". Other performers included singer Vaneli and many more.

The concert segment was organized by E. Mason and Associates for the 2nd Annual Florida Entertainment Summit and the City Of Miami. The E&J Blood Brothaz were selected to perform by concert officals. The evening event also played host to Mayor Manuel A. Diaz Tree Lighting and Candle Light Ceremonies in collaboration with the Miami - Dade County Health Department - Office of HIV/ADS to commemorate those who have fallen to the disease known as HIV/AIDS.

Among Friends Records Inc. always shows support in community activities. They strive to educate the next millennium generation through their music and actions. Among Friends Records Inc. Stirs Things up in the SCREWED State of Texas

     This year Texas Summer Music Conference is Dallas, TX was the biggest ever with over 2000 participants. Among Friends Records executives, artists and brand name made their biggest impression yet.  

     The Texas Hip Hop scene is well know for their slow, bass heavy, screwed and chopped style of music. For the audience to accept B-Locks hardcore east coast deliveries and the E&J Blood Brothaz passionate performance show that the Texans have open ears. They welcomed Among Friends Records with open arms and praised their ultimate hustle.

     During the 4th Annual Conference Feygens Saint-Joy Jr., Vice President of Among Friends Records and President of HipHopFriends Distribution got involved in the heated panel discussion that everyone wanted answers. How to Make Money without Radio? The panel consists of TJ Chapman CEO of TJsDJs, Haziq, Derrick McKinney, Lil Keith Johnson-Up All Nite Music, Eric Martinez of Powermoves Entertainment, Tabi Bonney & Janie Jennings of Industry Works. These experience executives gave the audience all the options need to succeed with out radio play. It was pacesetting on how the rest of the successful event went.

     During the evening of Saturday July 1st, @ 5pm the stage was set for Among Friends Records Inc. chart topping artist B-Locks to show Texas what he got. B-Locks came out with his explosive single Prime Time to set the tone. Then he went into his new release Red Rose which is about giving a helping hand to your squad in time of need. The crowd reaction was astonishing. After his set the E&J Blood Brothaz came on decked with custom Air Force Ones studded with rhinestones and gave it their all. The joint sets ensured that Among Friends Records can give an entertaining performance in any market. On Sunday the E&J Blood Brothaz tore up the stage at the infamous Tom Cats Club in Dallas thanks to Jen-Gerbread Marketing CEO Jen Onwumere.

     The Texas Summer Music Conference is the brainchild of Dallas based entertainment entrepreneur Mike Senters a.k.a Mic Moodswing Entertainment, is brought to you by Moodswing, Charles Key owner of the ABA Texas Tycoons, and owner of Tightwork Records and current Chicago Bears tight-end Desmond Clark. Next year conference is already in the works.

Among Friends Records Inc. Break into the Atlanta Hip Hop Market @ SUMC

 In the new today, in the Hip Hop capital Atlanta, and at the time of Poole Place dance craze. East Coast record label Among Friends Records and E&J Blood Brothaz give Atlanta Hip Hop fans something new.

During this year 4^th Annual Urban Music Market @ the Marriott Downtown Atlanta, Among Friends Records Inc. made appearances at industry parties hosted by LOD (Legion Of Doom) DJ pool, panels and networking lounges. Feygens Saint-Joy Jr. VP of Among Friends Records Inc. gave thoughts on the Social Web and Online Distribution with various music executives from Atlantic, Universal and Cory Web of Mogultunes. In additional, Burt Orilas VP of Marketing and Promotions, sat in on the Music Video, Ring tones and Marketing panel with MTV executives, Q-Mobile and Tony Baraka SUMC Coordinator. 

HipHopFriends, Among Friends Records distributor, presence was also felt as they passed out goodie bags to attendees containing albums on G.P. Louis and M.U.R.D.E.R Internash, other chart topping on the AFR roster. AFR sponsors like Royal Blunts and Sedgwick and Cedar provided good as well.

On June 16^th the E&J Blood Brothaz performed their new hit single Stand Clear and Comin 4 U off their next album entitled Built on Solid Foundation. The response to their clear and energetic performance gained great praise that Among Friends Records music can BREAK into the southern hip hop markets.
