Hey Canada (and anyone else interested),
We've all returned, safe-and-sound, to our everyday lives back in Seattle, and we've all emphatically agreed that we're bummed the weekend is over. The entire trip was one long period of elation (excluding a certain trip to Taco Bell, which I, unlike my fellow band mates, wisely skipped out on, and which I will also likely get in trouble for mentioning), and I can't tell you just how much the weekend has meant to us all.
Quite a few people deserved massive gratitude:
Thank you Mallory, Neil, Jessie, Ryan, Mike, and the many others who helped out with booking the shows.
Thank you to the venues for letting these shows happen.
Thank you Pete and Damien for letting us stay at your house!
Thank you Chris' parents for taking us in for a day and cooking such an awesome meal for us.
Thank you to Set Foot, A Crow's Glory, Headshot, Crusades, Epi-demic, Punch Out, and Act Fast for playing with us.
Thank you, also, Living in Ruins (seems almost like thanking ourselves . . .) for playing with us, traveling with us, and for sharing awesome times.
Thank you Ryan's parents for letting Punch Out, Crusades, Living in Ruins, and us play at your house.
Thank you Tim Horton's dude for the free muffins and doughnuts.
Sorry Ryan for introducing you to the Winds of Hell.
Thank you Chris for constantly reciting our lyrics to us (or at least the bits you know). We will get you a lyrics sheet so that you can further expand your verbal mimicry and praise.
Thank you Lydia for being our Sacajawea, for playing the Fun Song so epically, and for simply being rad. You're pretty much Vanguard's patron saint . . .
Thank you everyone who sang along, danced, came to a show, bought merch, hung out with us, gave us directions, or simply sent us positive vibes as we cruised the great white north.
I know I've very unjustly left out quite a few people who deserved mention. Please forgive me, and know that we genuinely appreciate you and all you did for us.
Thank you all so much. I don't exaggerate, and I know I don't just speak for myself, when I say that this was one of the best weekends of my life. We are all speechless and immensely grateful for the wonderful reception that you all gave to us. New friends were made, old friends were seen again, and great times were had by all. I hope that it all meant as much to you as it did to us.
Finally, thank you so much, everyone who had anything to do with this weekend. I can't wait to do it again. Much love to everyone. I wouldn't trade this weekend for the world.
See you soon.
Mark and the rest of the Vanguard handsomes
