I've put together a little poll to ask peeps what their favorite *kinda sorta related* to Valentine's Day GymSkinZ design is.

Check it out and cast your vote.   Nothing says "I Love You" more to your hunny-bun than a "Not Tonight Honey, I've Got To Race In The Morning" shirt...  Don't even get me started about the "Threesome Anyone?" design... ahem...

Not Tonight Honey

Anyway, If you think any of your friends would get a kick out of these, do me a favour and pass on the link below.  For extra brownie points, post the link in your myspace or facebook profile - I track all incoming traffic to my site so suffice to say, you'll be rewarded with free shtuff if I notice you're helping me out with some visitors ;)

cheers

Hey Folks,

Hope you had a great fantastic week and you're settling into this wonderful thing known as "fall"... otherwise known as "the off season" for most of us - especially me... I'm so "off" right now I don't know if I'll ever get back ON.  (and no chirping from you folks down at the LA Tri Club or other warm parts of the world... I dont care that it's 80 degrees down there and you can train all year... kiss my a$$  )

In any case, here's an interesting read for ya posted in my official blog... check it out, and feel free to pass it on...

Have a great weekend folks.

GymSkinZ 2.5 Triathlon Blog

Check it out.

oh, and here's a pic of my buddies Hoz (ultra-fast runner) and fellow ironpal Tara with Dean Karnazes from last weekend.  Hoz specifically told me if I post this pic, I have to tell the world he kicked his ass during their run - the scary thing is, I believe him...

*sigh*

So apparently I fell off the face of the earth and have COMPLETELY let my blog and podcast and my health and fitness go to the sh*tter.... ok, maybe not my health and fitness, but at least my blog and website and myspace presence have gone completely by the wayside - sorry folks, I will endeavour to keep in better contact from now on...

Having said that - for those of you that still pop on to check the tumbleweeds as they flow through mySpace, or have sent me an (unanswered) email in the last few months - I thank you for your continued "curiosity" about who the fack this "Tavis" and "GymSkinZ guy" is.

If you didn't already know, I started this little thing about a year and a half ago and along with doing 2 ironmans (ironmen?) the last two years in a row, I've managed to work my day job and sell about 3,000 shirts around the world "on the side".  Not bad for just running this out of my living room "just for fun."  And considering I'm all about fun, it really has been a pretty fun-filled year despite forgetting to sleep most of the time which is not condusive to good training habits... But the trade-off has been worth it, I've met TONS of amazing people, and even had the opportunity to travel and race with a few of you - so I hope that trend continues in the future - provided I don't have a heart attack or suffer from a nervous breakdown in the next little while...

But I digress... If you haven't had a chance, you can visit my other neglected place on the web http://www.gymskinz.com   I can say with reasonably certainty that there WILL in fact be some updates happening on here as all I've been doing since Ironman is planning / plotting / scheming / strategizing / negotiating / and essentially praying for the planets to align so that I will utterly dominate the "funny triathlon shirt" market... If you don't believe me, google that phrase and see where I rank .  Then again, I'm looking to dominate the triathlon market in general with a bunch of OTHER related things and these silly shirts are just the beginning.  Of course I'm totally talking out of my ass since I'm so bloody happy and thankful that ANYBODY has bothered to even visit my site at all - but suffice to say I've been working my ass off doing a lot of other "behind the scenes" stuff and the t-shirts are just scratching the surface, so be on the lookout for more interesting stuff in the near to not-so-distant future.

Having said that, since I am doing a lot more than just stupid t-shirts (I am a "propellor head" by day and am a corporate slave during the week), the only way I can keep all you stalkers in the loop with what's going on with me and GymSkinZ is via some sort of electronic communication - like this blog and/or newsletter subscription, which I've totally gone dark on for the last few months...

If you want to keep up with what the hellz going on, I am imploring you to visit here:  http://www.gymskinz.com/resubscribe

When you enter your regular info (not your damn myspace contact info as it's perhaps THE MOST painful email system in the known universe), you'll get updates, you'll get free shiznit, you'll get t-shirts for $9.99 when I release them to the wild, you'll get training tips from not only me, who somehow managed to take half an hour off my Ironman this year with about 40% less training and 60% less effort (not to mention sleep), but also be able to glean some tips from my other insanely fast friends (who does Ironman their FIRST time in 10:30 minutes?!)  and people that generally get to stand on the podium when they do races - and the only way I've been able to stand on a podium is by doing relays with these guys...  Anyway, enough about me, I wanna hear about YOU - I wanna hear about all the "everyman" weekend warrior athletes out there that can appreciate my "Slow is the new FAST" t-shirt.  People that understand the humour in "I'd be a better triathlete if swimming was as easy as your girlfriend", people who do this for fun and don't take themselves TOO seriously, but serious enough to want to do better and have the skills necessary to do so - Hell, I'll sponsor you, I'll send you stuff, I'll put you on my website - but I can't do those warm-fuzzy things unless you get your head out of your ass and email me - just kidding....   So get your ass (please remove your head first) on over to: http://www.gymskinz.com/resubscribe and enter your info... or don't, I won't be offended if you have better things to do... Hell, I have better things to do, but I came back here to write this blog entry didn't I?!

What this will do is, not only give you VIP pre-release discounts to my new designs (I have over 60 coming out) - it'll hook you into my new database and tell me you are still interested in what I have coming down the pipe for the remainder of the year and what's shakin for next year.  Lots of exciting things and I look forward to dragging all you triathlete / duathlete / marathon / fitness nutbars along with me.

Let's get this party started!

cheers

Hey folks.

It's me, Tav - arising from the dead and poking my head back into the myspace world after a 6 month hiatus.  I think I've caught up on most of the emails you've sent me but if I've missed anyone and you're asking yourself "why has this sunofab not replied to my questions yet" - apologies in advance and feel free to contact me via my gymskinz.com email (on my website)  Spammers need not apply.

So anyway, big shout out to all of you folks doing Ironman CDA next weekend.  I had every intention of being there and thanks to everyone who suggested I setup a booth at the expo to flog my wares - one of these days I'll be taking this show on the road once I carve out some time in my already insane schedule.   Having said that, I'll be doing the New Balance Half-Iron this weekend as a prep race for Ironman Canada in a couple months (wtf? a couple months?).   Let's just say I'm a little under-trained this year and I suppose I will prove to the world that you can in fact do an ironman on less than 4 hours training a week.... although not really advised ;)

A bunch of folks are also heading to Switzerland for the Zurich Ironman next weekend as well, so stay tuned for a plethora of race reports from my race, Coeur d'Alene and Zurich in the weeks to come.

On the GymSkinZ front, I've said it a billion times before and I'll say it again, new stuff is being released very soon as I had some 'technical difficulties' in my last production run.  I also have a ton of new designs that I haven't managed to get uploaded to the catalog and there's no excuse other than the fact my "real job" has kicked my ass this year so my little "hobby project" aka GymSkinZ hasn't progressed as much as I would have liked this year.   In any case, thanx to ALL of you for your continued support and great comments on what is there now - I can assure you this is just the beginning of what's to come so stay tuned ;)  (and tell all your tri-buddies)

So that's about it for now.... I'll also be updating my podcast at gymskinz.podomatic.com with this weekends adventure and will keep things much more up to date in the next couple months leading up to Ironman Canada.   Looking forward to seeing some of you up in Penticton who are also in for the long haul ;)

Ok kids, have yourselves a great weekend, and feel free to drop me a note at my gymskinz email - you should know where to find me.

cheers
Tav.

Hey Folks

Forgot to mention, I've got a bunch of my first run custom gymskinz sleeveless tri / running tops. They are white with blue shoulder inserts and feature not only dual rear pockets, but have a pair of smaller insert pockets with velcro enclosures for your keys/change as well as an iPod slot with cable management holes (to run the headphone wire up inside of the shirt). They are currently based on euro sizing - like most of the pro-team cycling kit that you see our there but I will be changing them up on my next run so the sizes make more sense to the "western world".

They are made from of vented drimax wicking material with anti-microbial and anti-UV properties built in. Intro pricing on these tops will be $47.97 which is a deeeeep discount for all my myspace friends.

Drop me a note via gymskinz.com if you're interested!

thanx for your continued support!

Yikes, it's been like 3 months since I've posted anything in my blog or updated my podcast!!   Suffice to say, things are crazy busy and although I have  A TON OF CONTENT which I will be posting in here, I just haven't been doing a very good job of keeping up with actually POSTING ANYTHING.... sheeesh

Anyway, I trust all is well with everyone and look forward to hearing race reports from all you peeps out there doing Ironman CDA as well as the New Balance Half-Ironman in the next couple weeks!  I'll see ya in Victoria and don't "pants me" when you blow by me during the run ;)

feel free to drop me a note at tav@gymskinz.com as I'd love to hear how you're all doing.  I've come to the conclusion that the myspace email system and myspace in general gives me brain-damage each time I log into here, but regardless, look forward to catching up with all y'all!

cheers

Hey Everyone!

Exciting stuff coming around the corner! With the launch of my NEW website, I am inviting you to join in on my GymSkinZ T-Shirt Empire... I've come across so many great people via mySpace, and even some of you use my designs as your profile pic (which I think is absolutely outstanding) so I figured, why don't I allow YOU to earn up to 20% commissions on ANY of the products in my cafepress online store - and it won't cost you a PENNY to do it!! No stocking, no shipping, just mention GymSkinz!

I'll be releasing probably another 50-60 designs before the summer, and some won't even have to do with triathlons, but will be just as dang funny, so you'll have a huge catalog of cool things to offer that you can earn referalls from!

I will set up a personalized website for you with your own ID, and you simply refer people to "www.gymskinz.com/yourname" and anybody that purchases ANYTHING from my store - you will earn up to 20% on the sale! If you have a blog or your own website, or even just on your mySpace page, simply display my banner or graphic (like one of my hillarious t-shirts), and basically earn up to 20% of any of the sales you refer to me - and I'm doing ALL THE WORK - you don't have to do ANYTHING (well, except mention your personal gymskinz link to your friends!).  You'll even have access to the tracking system to view your sales in realtime!

For those interested, drop me a note at tav@gymskinz.com and I'll fill you in on the details, I'm only accepting a limited number of applicants!

cheers and look forward to working with you!

Many of the wholesalers don't have minimum order quantities... Have a read below.

...and finally, here's how to USE this resource and start a pretty great eBay biz without having to screen t-shirts till 2am like I do all the time....I actually met this guy last year when he was here in Vancouver at an online business development conference...

This "regular guy" from Nebraska raked in $8 MILLION in one year selling everyday goods on eBay!

Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Hey Folks - It's January and OH MY GOSH time is flying!!   The last I checked, there's just a little over 7 months until Ironman Canada 2007 and that's just scary!

Anyway, the last year has brought many profound changes in my life and the way I approach things - and if you ask anyone that knows me, my approach to anything is pretty much balls out 150% at everything I do and sleep is apparently a foreign concept to me.   One common thing a lot of my friends, customers, colleagues, podcast listeners, blog subscribers ask is "Tav, how the frick do you do it?".   For those of you that don't know, I work full-time in IT management, I run GymSkinZ.Com out of my 800sq.ft apartment, I have my "You Don't Have to Win, You Just Have to Tri" podcast which has over 40,000 episode downloads to date, I'm launching just-tri.com (which will be a mySpace for multisporters / active people), I'm in the process of writing a couple eBooks, I train for Ironman, and I'm involved in a few other startup / entrepreneurial ventures (more on that stuff soon), and I still manage to do a pretty good job at keeping in touch with most of you out there that correspond with me via mySpace - makes me tired just thinking about all of it!

"The only place where you'll find success before work is in the dictionary"

With only 24 hours in the day, EACH AND EVERYONE of us is given the EXACT same amount of hours each day to do "whatever it is you do".  I just choose to maximize each and everyone of those hours doing as many things that are productive on every level possible - some call it being a workaholic, I call it being highly motivated.   More importantly, the harder I work now, presumably the quicker I can transition into the next phase of my life where I'll be able to train full time and pursue my "nearly impossible" dream of qualifying for the Ironman World Championships in Kona.  Not to mention spend more time with my pals and people that I care about - cuz right now, I'll admit it's quite the juggling act!

In any case, back the the question of "How I do it?".  Well, it's simple actually, and there is actually a science behind it - coincidentally called "simpleology".   Never heard of it?  Well, it's not some cult, it's not a religion (that's scientology btw), it's just a way of approaching things in a different way that you may have never thought of - and like it says, the concepts are very simple.

Check it out here:  Simpleology

You'll get instant access to Simpleology 101 for FREE right now with no strings attached and no obligation

As a multisports athlete, does it apply?

"The principles found in Simpleology are the same that I followed to become a 3 time Olympian."
- Ruben Gonzalez, 3 Time Olympian (Luge)

Hell ya it does!  For anyone who isn't a professional athlete and has to actually WORK for a living so you can afford that new bike, take care of domestic duties like the 18 hectares of laundry you produce from training, family obligations, your wife/hubby or girlfriend/boyfriend wondering if they'll ever see you on the weekends between your 5 hour ride and 3 hour long runs, your available TIME is a precious commodity - so Simpleology absolutely can help if you could relate to any of the things I just mentioned...

Check it out and let me know what you think, drop me a note at tav@gymskinz.com anytime, and I can fill you in on all the other whacky stuff that I'm up to beyond GymSkinZ and training if you're interested ;)

*Note:  Even though Simpleology has had more impact on my life than any other personal development program I have ever experienced, I do have to warn you that it will only work if you do what it asks. There is no such thing as a magic pill. Simpleology is boiled down to a short 15 minute exercise that you perform every day. If you want the incredible changes in your mastery of Time, Energy, and Money, you must do the fun exercise every day. The changes aren't going to happen unless you do.
