On October 28 2006, Mon Ami will release their first album – 'Debut'. This follows the release of a four track E-P in May and a successful New Zealand tour throughout July and August of this year.

Debut was recorded and mixed in Wellington at Inca Studios by Mike Gibson and mastered at Studio 301 in Sydney by Don Bartley.  Mon Ami's first single release 'About These Things' went to number one and spent seven weeks in Radio Active's Top 11 continuing its popularity to go on to become the most played New Zealand track on the Wellington station for all 2004.  The studio version of that song was included on the 4 track E-P 'Extended Play' from which two other songs 'The Bar' (aka Flowering) and 'New Beginning' have also received excellent play on stations nationwide.

'Extended Play' was released as a teaser and contained studio versions of four songs from the forthcoming album 'Debut'.

The E-P release in May was backed up by a mini tour of Wellington and Christchurch, followed by a mid-winter nationwide tour which saw Mon Ami touring from Auckland to the Deep South. Dunedin saw them share the stage with Fly My Pretties to a sold out Regent Theatre and in those two months they played to a combined audience of over 3000 people, finishing up in Wellington, where they shared the stage with Odessa to a sold out San Francisco Bathhouse. In addition the past two years have seen Mon Ami perform with The Phoenix Foundation, Age Prior, Greg Johnson, Elemeno P, OdESSA  and many more.

Mon Ami will be playing their last Wellington show for a few months this Saturday 19 Aug at Chow Cabaret on Tory St.

The Band are going to keep it on the down-low for the next few months as they prepare for their album release and subsequent tour coming up in october and november of this year.

Having just completed a successful nationwide tour and a couple of other good time gigs, it's time for the boys to ut their heads down and concentrate on some serious writing and demo recording to put them in good stead for heading back into the studio at the end of this year, or the beginning of next.

So head along to Chow this Saturday for a couple of jars and a boogie and in the mean time we'll look forward to seeing you there.
