Chuck Wicks  #2 Among MySpace’s Hottest Country Artists as He Dances into Week 6 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars....
 

– RCA Nashville recording artist and Dancing with the Stars celebrity contestant Chuck Wicks is doing more than heating up the dance floor, he’s also hot online, where for the second week in a row he ranks as the #2 country artist on MySpace.  According to Yuzio, Wicks has amassed more than one-half million profile views in each of the past two weeks, second only to country superstar Carrie Underwood.


A gifted songwriter and vocalist, Chuck made a compelling impression with his Top 5 smash, “Stealing Cinderella,” the fastest-rising single by a debut country act in 2007.  By the time his first album, Starting Now, was released in January 2008, he had begun a year-long 750,000 fan-packed tour opening for superstar Brad Paisley.  Chuck co-wrote all but one of the songs on his debut CD, including his second hit, “All I Ever Wanted,” and the current single, “Man of the House,” a touching story-song about a boy taking on beyond-his-years responsibilities as his father is on military assignment.

Watch for Chuck on the dance floor once again as the next new episode of Dancing with the Stars airs this coming Monday, April 13, at 8 PM ET, on ABC.

NERVOUS!!! I'm sitting in the Hair and make-up trailor with julianne right now and she said she just blogged.....now let me give you my bird eyes view on things!! haha

just did the walk through of walking down the stairs for the opening of the show! piece of cake! lol...i wish dancing was as easy as walking!

did some camera blocking dismorning and ran the dance through a few times and the first 2 were pretty good....the last one was much better!

the girls get plenty of attention around here when it comes to hair and make up! julianne has been in hair and make up for like 3 hours!! she doesn't need it, but they do a great job!
Ty Murray just sat down in the make up chair and told the lady this is as good as it gets! hahaha...love that guy
jewel will be showing up later, to support Ty......LT is a Big Man! and very nice! Steve-O is very soft spoken but very unpredictable....cool guy. Derrick Hough and I have been hanging out a little today killing time and he's pretty amped about his album that comes out tommorow called "BALLAS HOUGH BAND"........

Talked with Steve WOZ, such a sweetheart of a guy and incredibly SMART! haha...
He was showing us a special type of watch today that i won't even get into because i don't even know where to start....long story.

kinda been watching the other dancers and stars rehearse and they're all really good!!! i think this season will be alot of fun to watch!!

ALRIGHT...i'm being called for Hair and make-up! lol....who would of thought?

I have to tell you this is a lot harder than i thought!! Julianne is kicking my butt!! HAHA.....she's such a GREAT TEACHER...I have had my moments where i just get super frustrated and she's write on me to pull me back in.
We have been traveling non-stop!! Between all my shows and trying to find rehearsal spaces in different small town and cities it seems like we never sit down. But we are having a BLAST!! I feel like i'm getting better and it makes me want to work harder! Julianne is also doing shows on the road as well, she just opened up for Toby Keith and the crowed loved her!
I'm at the airport right now getting ready to fly back to nashville for a day. I'm recording another song to put on the current record as a BONUS track for you and we will hopefully get the NEW CD WITH THE BONUS TRACK OUT IN THE NEXT MONTH!!!
The New WEBSITE is almost done and I will continue to practice away with Jules!!!! Hope to see you at a Show soon!! Talk to ya in a BIT!!

Alright!! Dancing needs to be considered a sport, because i'm finding muscles i never knew I had! Julianne is feeling much better and I'm actually starting to get into a groove. It's been really hard being that I'm still out on the road touring so it's DANCE BY DAY, SING BY NIGHT!! LOL....gotta love it!
We're trying to ask how the other couples are doing to see what's up but all circuits are busy! haha...everyone is MUM!
it's taken me about 4 solid rehearsals to get the feel and kinda learn the actual full dance. I have a TON OF WORK ahead of me! Somedays if not all have been very frustrating just because I've never danced before so it's like learning a new language for the first time. Julianne is CRACKING the WHIP for SURE!! But I like it!! haha.... She is a great teacher! Keep checking in!! I'm on my way to Rehearsal NOW!!! Wish Me LUCK!!!

So today is our 2nd day of rehearsal!! Julianne is still fighting off having the "FLU", which i feel so bad for her but she's a trooper and she's pushing through the rehearsals. It's official!! I've now confirmed i'm a really bad dancer!! lol....but i have a GREAT teacher and i will try my best not to fall on my face come march 9th!
We just did the title shoot for DWTS out in LA and then took a Red Eye last night to Pittsburg, PA where i have a show tonight. Julianne will be with me the entire time teaching me on the road while touring. I have to admit it's definitely a lot to juggle but we're doing it!! She is finding it very funny with how serious and focused i am in practice!! i think she's always used to me joking around!! But i told her to "Crack her whip" because i need it especially to learn these CRAZY steps she's showing me!! lol
I will keep you all posted on a daily basis or as much as I can!! Julianne said "HELLO" as she is reading this over my shoulder...WE will keep blogging and keeping you up to speed with everything! This is going to be a lot of FUN and I hope you all have fun watching me learn how to DANCE!! haha

Announced as Celebrity Competitor for the New Season of ABC’s Dancing with
the Stars

March 9

 

Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville hit recording artist Chuck Wicks is among the celebrity competitors poised to take to the dance floor for the eighth season of the enduringly popular ABC series, Dancing with the Stars.  The new cast was revealed this evening as series host Tom Bergeron presented the “All Night Name Drop,” announcing this season’s competitors throughout ABC’s Sunday night prime-time programming.

 

ABC also announced in a press release this evening that Chuck’s dance partner in the competition will be his girlfriend and fellow country recording artist, two-time Dancing with the Stars champion, Julianne Hough.

 

Joining Wicks to round out this season’s celebrity contestants are rapper Lil’ Kim; Jackass star Steve-O; Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell; actor
Gilles Marini; actress Denise Richards; Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; recording artist Belinda Carlisle; actor/comedian David Alan Grier; football
hero Lawrence Taylor; recording artist Jewel and her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray; and Olympic Gold-medal winning gymnast Shawn Johnson.

hope all is well!!!

I've been home in Nashville for the past week or so just writing and relaxing! For a little bit anyway.
I will start putting some of the new songs in my set out on the road to see what you all think so please check my calendar and if you can make it out to a show! I would love to see you!!
I do meet and greets after every show and even started doing a VIP meet and greet up on the Bus where we can hang and you can ask me any question or questions you'd like!!! i even play a couple acoustic songs while we're hanging!
Went Four wheeling yesterday by the way and totally fell off and almost broke my neck...besides that.....YOU CAN REQUEST "MAN OF THE HOUSE" MY NEW SINGLE NOW!!!! lol.. see you all soon!!
