this is Markly checking in, we are having a blast on the european tour.  Just sending a shout out to Simon and the Wurst Nightmare for setting up a last minute show in an apartment in Hamburg, Germany... not to mention packing it full of awesome people!  Today we are leaving for Köpenhägen, in about 5 seconds.  We will be putting up more pictures soon... Everybody who has pics or videos of the tour please share, we would really appreciate it!  A jazz band in the street here in berlin just started playing "when the saints go marching in", and i think these saints had better be marching on...  adios!
(wow, they just mixed in the song "tequila." that gives me another idea...

this is andrew. i thought i’d write one of these weird blog things to let you all know what’s up.
so we’ve been recording this record with tucker martine in portland for a while now, and it’s close to being done! we aren’t sure when it will be coming out, though, or through whom. we’ll let you know when we know.

in the interim, however, we have been working on some new home recordings of our own which we are very excited about, and, at least initially, we will be self-releasing them. i think we’ve got a few more finishing touches to add today and it’ll be done. so look out for that!

also, we have a new website!!! ashley and eli and our friend adam from whidbey island made a sweet new website with all of our recordings available for purchase, some samples, some pictures, and stuff like that. maybe we’ll put some videos up there sometime soon too. but you should check it out! it’s here: www.laketheband.com!

also on our plate lately: our friend tim from funkytonk records is putting out our tape release (originally out on brown interiour music) with an additional 2 unreleased songs as a 12" record! look for that soon.

we are going on tour with half-handed cloud starting very soon. ashley and eli are doing the US part of the tour with him, and the rest of us are meeting up in europe for the rest! so check our page and half-handed cloud’s myspace for those dates and stuff.

oh! and our friend tiff from the dearborn gallery in seattle told us last night that she’s going to be putting out our live set there as a split with cock and swan’s live set (i think)! we’ll let you know more about that soon.

anyway, it just seemed like there was a lot going on that i should give you all a headz up about.

we're putting out a split 7" with our friends typhoon (who sang and played on the brown interiour cassette) on their label boy gorilla records. we recorded two new songs with tons of big sweet group vocals (there are twelve typhooners altogether), and sang and played on two of their songs. we're very very excited, as this will be our first vinyl release! plus, we've been planning this release with typhoon since september. wooo!

we've sent the songs and info to be pressed, and we should have it available in a month or so.

so i guess you'll just have to wait. but so will we, so don't feel so bad.
but in the meantime, you should check out boy gorilla's myspace page. they're in our top whatever.
