Live!
By The Jackson 5
Release date: 2008-02-01
Friday, June 26, 2009
and by now we all know this. One of my earliest memories is listening to the Jackson 5 on my Fisher Price record player. As a little kid born in the 70's there was so much excitement around Michael Jackson and the Jacksons. From the cartoon to the summer TV specials to the release of Off The Wall. I remember the bigger kids coming to school with the Off The Wall album tucked under their arms and me thinking "wow look at those socks!"

I can remember seeing the commercials for the Motown 25 special and getting your first look at a early 20's something Michael. Remember there was no internet, photogs wasn't following celebs every second. You really knew nothing about famous people so it added to the his mystique. The moment he stepped on stage everything changed. Everything. And I'm not talking about the moonwalk. The way pop artist performed, the way people wore their hair. Geeze the Gap Band & Kool & the Gang started wearing make up and all got jeri curls for christ sakes! The performance of Bille Jean mixed street dancing, James Brown & Bob Fosse....who does that!

no body but Michael Jackson.

Rest in peace sir...you've earned it!

..for about 4 to 6 weeks I'm sure. Our beloved bass player Paul took a nasty bicycle spill this weekend breaking his noes and fracturing his neck. Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers.
