howdy my dreary droogs...we would like to take this opportunity to thank the mighty six fingered man for playing with us sunday night, with six new songs and drummer they went down a treat with a very appreciative audience, very powerful and emotive they are indeed.
up next was the, suprisingly quite, sober TAB's, going through their usual set with ricks big muff sat watching, and he had bought himself a new effects pedal too. it was good to see some old friends and we very much enjoyed the evening.

we would also like to thank the kind lady whom booked us not knowing what she was going to get, the tut and shive is a very good pub, and good pubs are fast becoming a rariety these days, only cost me a fiver home too! i'm sure we all felt a bit rough this morning....take it easy, TAB style x

On Friday we that is the analog bombs visited the bcb radio station to engage in an unveiling of our new recording, an in-depth 'ahem' interview, and a live performance. THIS WILL BE AIRED ON wEDNESDAY 28.10.09 AT SIX O'CLOCK. The live performance consisited of Lee on acoustic guitar, Ben vocals, deano on a blowy thing with keys, Matt on trombone and myself on bongos. We played an impromptu musical version of a well known tune and a version of Lola whereby i've just realised i make my singing debut, which at one point turned into laughter when i inadvertently looked in Deano's direction.

The whole event was very pythonesque and started of in true fashion by us all not been allowed in with beer in tow. Thus ensconced outside the premises cans and tabs in hand we fitted in well with the local community. Indeed Deano made 2 pence whilst busking for five minutes. The main woman (one who actually gets payed at the station) saw it was us and relented on the beer ban (like that would have actually worked anyway). The ban was put in place i believe after our last visit which resulted in a soaked lager carpet before we even got throught the door. I think she realised the need in the eyes of a few of the lads and knows the way to a lads heart.

The show was presented by Liz Jenkins who i think was a little confused and over awed initially by the frolics taking place. In addition Dave 'the man who gets things Dunn' was filming everything on his recorder. Now we hadn't asked for this or owt and i believe its safe to say that Dave may have some classic you tube footage on his hands. Indeed he didn't appear to stop laughing throughout. You need to listen to the opening of the show if for nothing more than the introductions whereby a new member of the band was announced. Not gonna spoil anything but its a classic, which we intend to go on forever. Overall there was some serious moments which is what will probably go out on the actual radio edit, but the edit will be quite hard i suspect because in the main it was mostly silliness and mayhem. She promised to send out an unedited version which depending on how bad it is we will have to decide whether it is capable of been viewed. The four new songs were played and they sounded good despite only been the first mix by Dave e.g. no effects, occasional balance issues but in the main a terrific job by him. The presenter loves em apparently and we hope you will too. Copies are gonna be aavailable at the Mannville gig, the new t-shirts too. So be there for that. We are supporting a signed band next month the name of which i can't remember, abit like Ben and lyrics, or Lee and any song we have ever written.

PS Rick is kindly staying on for these gigs next month but is then leaving, thus we will be starting the new year with a new bass player hopefully. Please pass the word 'cos we want a new bass player as soon as Rick as completed these gigs.
PPS Make sure you try and tune in Wednesday 'cos we had fun doing it and we reckon you may just enjoy it too. Cheers Danny (danny's word are not necessarily those of the analog bombs and any copyrig.......

The Question: Zen and Violence v. 1

Current mood:  curious
We have been busy bee's in the studio last weekend. many thanks to our engineer and friend Dave for managing to rig up jr's studio so we could have a bash. This was not an easy task as we are the first one's to use it. We recorded 4 (FOUR) NEW ORIGINAL SONGS in two takes tops. This was just a test of how the new stuff was sounding and initial results are good. Its abit raw and rough round the edges and perhaps (the lads will kill me for saying this) a little bit fast in two of the songs but this is as live as your gonna get. Dave as done a first mix and on first impressions on that basis we are most pleased. The vocals come across strong, the bass is heavy in the mix, possibly at the expense of the keyboards. But there is so much going on its difficult to get the balance bang on. For instance the fox-eared amongst you may notice a lack of crash cymbals this was due to them dominating proceedings. We were gonna put them on afterwards but this would not have been the live thing.

First up was T.A.B. This was originally only meant to be a warmer upper to get the balance thus what you hear is the one and only take, thus there may be mistakes. However on listen back we decided to keep it and thus recorded an over-dub of vocals. Its mixed to heavy early on with trombone at the sacrifice of the keyboard riff but its alot better than i think any of us thought it would be, as it truly was just meant to be a warm up.

Alter-ego was next. We chose this as it as been a mainstay live wise for a while now. Theres alot going on and thus it good to hear back what it collectively sounds like. Its rough and ready and certain parts musically lack clarity but we like it like that. Its a good impression of what our live sound is like when you can hear the vocals clearly. On initial hearing this was my favourite because its a true representation of the song.

Ted bovis was next. This the bands working title of the song and the one whereby we really wanted to spend most time on. This didn't happen really and there are differences in the band about whether this is the right speed, particularly the intro and dub sequence. Remember this is recorded live and thus is susceptible to nervous energy. There are things such as guitar and snare effects that we may add later on, especially in the dub sequence half-way through the song. Overall though there are very few bands or songs even that sound like this. It will be interesting to hear the feedback. We are as a band proud of this song and Dave as done a good job considering the time constraints of the recording. Dave mixed this himself and i feel that the band will after a listen maybe want a few changes here and there but considering he had never heard the song before again its a good demonstration.

Lastly we blasted through what now appears to be at ferocious speed, a recording of Sunday Morning. Its perhaps alittle to fast for recorded/listening purposes but again a true reflection of it live. Its jaunty and annoyingly catchy i guess without going all pop-charty corny. Early listeners say its like a fast small faces ?? thats your call but its fun to play and always goes down well. Again few bands are doing this, not ant that i've seen anyway.

These are the impressions after les than an handfull of listens and after more i may be more lenient or even critical. Overall though its exactly what a demo should be. A great representation of the songs which with more time, money and gear Dave could have turned into masterpieces.

We've been asked to do the first play and interview on BCB radio which we will be taking place within the next two weeks. We are gonna have copies ready to purchase soon. We are also doing a video with an itv crew member (with full pro rig) for one of the songs, again shortly thanks to sy our friend and roadie. The tracks will then be put on myspace for your listen and comments hopefully. cheers the bombs (danny's views are not necessarily those of the band and any copyrighting.........

hi there, lee the forgetful guitarist here, i feel i must apologies for not being able to do the gig with the fantastic station 1, really messed up this time. holiday reps are not worth shit, they are just glorified sales people trying to sell only what they want you to have, whilst filling you with false information. so i got stuck in cyprus, which to be fair is no bad thing, but i felt bad for the lads in the band and letting the promo people down. couldnt be helped as after ten pints and two litres of wine i was not sure what was going on. had a great time though with the girlfriend, back to reality now...

there are simply not that many spaces on flights as people make out...
