We started in May 2008, when the album came out. With Megadeth in USA. Summer arrived and we escaped to Australia's and New Zealand's winter. Then a longer flight to Japan, back to warmth and the perfect noodlesoups. We also did some festivals in Europe including Wacken and Download.
Back to USA as headliner, after which we hit arenas with Slipknot and Machine head in Europe. Here and there a couple headliners in between. Christmas home and new years too. Beginning of the year was time for the longawaited headlining in Europe. Managed to get Cannibal Corpse and Diablo with us. Then experienced a couple of weeks of spring time in Finland, and off we go, with Lamb Of God, NorthAmerica. Somebody falls from his bunk and we go home. Summertime, everything healed, and we hit some festivals, but also had the chance to enjoy the Finnish summer. Summer ends and we fly to spring of Buenos Aires, from where we start the last thing of this cycle. Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, USA, Canada, Hawaii, Japan, Hongkong, Beijing, Taipei and finally Moscow.
We toured with many bands, many crew. Met a lot of nice people, weird people, funny people. Tasted weird foods, emptied minibars, swam in the ocean. Pounded Brazilian Churrascaria beef, had tons of nigiris in Tokyo, frenchfries animalstyle in Cali and poutine in Canada. We enjoyed the tropical heat, fruits and surf in Honolulu, also the hospitality of locals in the Irish Bar, and the dayafter around the island, ending in Gyu-Kaku.
Played many cities where we never headlined before, including Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Clifton Parks, Beijing, Taipei, Hongkong, Honolulu, Monterrey, Buenos Aires...
Learned to say hello in Chinese and Cantonese, not to forget the dirty phrases in Japanese in Rock-Rock.
We wanna thank all the fans we had the honour to play with!
And the really nice fans who we were able to meet!
Thanks goes to all the bands we toured with, all the cool crew we met and worked with, especially our own crew and our management.
All the locals who made shows happen, all the locals who helped us out, whether it was ordering a pizza or showing me the Tiananmen square.
We re done now for a while. Concentrating on writing.
But after all s done, we will do the same again!!!!

ESP GUITARS, METAL INJECTION, AND METAL SUCKS ANNOUNCES: “IMPERSONATE ALEXI LAIHO” VIDEO CONTEST
ESP Guitars has teamed with web sites Metalinjection.tv and MetalSucks.net to bring you the “Impersonate Alexi Laiho” video contest. As the name implies, to enter the contest, you must create a short video of yourself impersonating Children of Bodom guitarist Alexi Laiho.
The videos will be judged on originality, authenticity, humor, or overall impressiveness. The entry videos must be uploaded at Metalinjection.tv before 11/1/09.
The grand prize for the contest is an ESP LTD AL-600-Scythe Alexi Laiho Signature Series guitar. ESP’s director of marketing and artist relations Allen Steelgrave says, “This is a great opportunity for someone to get creative and have fun. The winning video might not have the best production values, but it might be the one we laugh the hardest at. Plus, it’s something everyone with a video cam and some creativity can do.”
Laiho, who won Guitar World Magazine’s 2008 Reader’s Poll as “Best Metal Guitarist”, appears in a short introductory video for the contest.
Entrants can get more information as well as links to the contest entry at http://www.metalsucks.net/2009/10/01/impersonate-children-of-bodoms-alexi-laiho-win-an-esp-guitar/ Complete rules and regulations are available at espguitars.com.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
CHILDREN OF BODOM GIVE FANS A TASTE OF NEW COVERS LP “SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET”; 3 WILD REMAKES POSTED ONLINE HERE
CHILDREN OF BODOM, the esteemed Finnish Heavy Metal band that features frontman and modern day Guitar Hero Alexi Laiho will release a full album of cover tunes containing 17 impressive remakes of the group’s all-time favorite songs this fall. Titled Skeletons in the Closet, the record will drop on September 22, 2009 via Spinefarm Records / Fontana International. CHILDREN OF BODOM will launch a 20 city North American headlining tour in support of the record beginning Friday, September 18 in Providence, RI
A first taste of what Skeletons in the Closet will deliver can be had today as not 1, not 2, but 3 wild new CHILDREN OF BODOM remakes have been posted online via the band’s just refashioned MySpace page. Check out all the action including COB’s revved up take on BILLY IDOL’s “Rebel Yell”, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL’s “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES’ “War Inside My Head” now at myspace.com/childrenofbodom
Long known for employing a lighthearted musical modus operandi despite both a weighty work ethic and no joke dedication to its craft, CHILDREN OF BODOM (or COB) has joined the ranks of the world’s finest heavy music acts over the course of the last decade. Skeletons in the Closet features a first-rate selection of covers; some of them previously existing recordings, others specially laid down for this release. The LP delivers bang-up recordings of – among others -- the Ramones’ “Somebody Put Something in My Drink”, Iron Maiden’s “Aces High”, “Talk Dirty to Me” by Poison and the searing version of the Billy Idol classic “Rebel Yell”. Of special note is CHILDREN OF BODOM’s now-infamous take on Britney Spears’ “Oops!...I Did It Again”. The cover previously appeared on a Japanese-only pressing of the band’s 2005 album Are You Dead Yet?, and will now be available worldwide for the very first time.
The full track listing for COB’s Skeletons in the Closet is as follows:
1.) Lookin’ Out My Back Door (Creedence Clearwater Revival) 2.) Hell is for Children (Pat Benatar) 3.) Somebody Put Something in My Drink (Ramones) 4.) Mass Hypnosis (Sepultura) 5.) Don’t Stop at the Top (Scorpions) 6.) Silent Scream (Slayer) 7.) Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) (Kenny Rogers) 8.) Hellion (W.A.S.P.) 9.) Aces High (Iron Maiden) 10.) Rebel Yell (Billy Idol) 11.) No Commands (Stone) 12.) Antisocial (Trust / Anthrax) 13.) Talk Dirty to Me (Poison) 14.) (Ghost) Riders In the Sky (Stan Jones / Johnny Cash) 15.) War Inside My Head (Suicidal Tendencies) 16.) Oops!...I Did It Again (Britney Spears) 17.) Waiting (King Diamond)

Finland’s heavy metal superstars CHILDREN OF BODOM will return to North America this fall to headline a massive, month-long tour. The award-winning band, which features front man and world-renowned guitar hero Alexi Laiho, will launch the tour on Friday, September 18 at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, RI.
Presented by ESP Guitars and Spinefarm Records in association with EMG, Exclaim! and Guitar World, the 20-city CHILDREN OF BODOM headlining trek is scheduled to run through October 14 in Honolulu, HI and will hit major markets in both the U.S. and Canada along the way. Support on the COB tour will be provided by The Black Dahlia Murder and Skeletonwitch. Additional media partners include KillerTours.com, and Hollywood Music TV.
CHILDREN OF BODOM made headlines this past May when the band was forced to cancel the tail end of its spring North American tour with Lamb of God after Laiho broke his shoulder and suffered internal bleeding as a result of a tour bus mishap. After bravely performing ten live dates with the serious injuries, the toll became too much for the guitarist to endure and CHILDREN OF BODOM made the decision to cut the tour short, placing Laiho’s long-term health as its first priority. Now, after rest and a successful recovery, Laiho and COB are back with a renewed vigor and ready to return stronger than ever before.
Ticket pre-sales for the CHILDREN OF BODOM tour officially begin on Wednesday, June 24 at 3:00 PM local time. The pre-sale landing page provides fans with the option to pre-order the upcoming new COB album, as well as to purchase a special VIP package with a concert
Alexi Laiho was named "Best Metal Guitarist" in the 15th annual Guitar World Reader's Poll. Laiho, called “a guitar hero for the new millennium” by the magazine, bested well known players such as Kirk Hammett of Metallica, Alex Skolnick of Testament, Ihsahn of Emperor and more to win the coveted award. Alexi is currently featured alongside fellow guitar hero George Lynch on the cover of Guitar Center’s “June Guitar Buyers Guide”. Video of Laiho and Lynch “discussing music, tone and ESP” can be seen now on Guitar Center’s website: GuitarCenter.com.
In addition to Laiho, CHILDREN OF BODOM features Janne Warman (keyboard), Roope Latvala (guitar), Henkka Seppälä (bass) and drummer Jaska Raatikainen.

Bassist Henkka Seppälä (a.k.a. Henkka T. Blacksmith) of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM has issued the following update from the road:
"In the beginning of the summer, we went to Janne's [Wirman, keyboards] small studio and recorded a couple of new cover songs for the forthcoming cover album. The songs turned out really good. Especially the slower song, that seemed to be a little hard to arrange. Then we kept on doing the festivals, as planned. Provinssirock, was good, even though we played soooo late. 'I hate these Finnish mosquitos!' as our German friend used to say. Then we went to hot Spain.
"Zaragoza city is beautiful, but it was very windy. Again we played very late, and the wind just kept getting stronger. We had to really choose our steps carefully on stage in order not be blown down by that wind. It was surreal. But it was good to be in Spain again, after a couple of years break.
"Today we came back from Belgium. Graspop [Metal Meeting] is known to be one of the best metal festivals in the world, and again it truly was nice. Sunday was sort a reunion feeling when LAMB OF GOD and GOD FORBID were playing too. And SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. Saturday we managed to get to the festival in time to see JOURNEY. We played on Sunday, and the tent was really hot. But the crowd was amazing. Best Graspop show ever for us.
"On Friday we played Sweden, Gothenburg. MUNICIPAL WASTE guys were hanging out as did some of the IN FLAMES guys too. It was good to have beers with friends from past tours. Show was our best show ever played in Sweden, in my opinion. And I fell in love with summer — Gothenburg."
CHILDREN OF BODOM will return to North America this fall to headline a massive, month-long tour. The 20-city trek will launch on Friday, September 18 at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence,Rhode Island and will run through October 14 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Support will come from THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and SKELETONWITCH.
CHILDREN OF BODOM recently released a 79-song digital box set exclusively through iTunes . It retails for $49.99.
To view the complete track listing, which does not include any previously unreleased material, go to this location.
CHILDREN OF BODOM was forced to cancel several shows on the No Fear Energy Tour with LAMB OF GOD due to injuries sustained by guitarist and frontman Alexi Laiho. Laiho, 30, broke his shoulder in April when he was ejected from his tour bus bunk after the vehicle took a sharp turn. Laiho and the rest of CHILDREN OF BODOM were touring North America in support of the band's critically acclaimed album "Blooddrunk".
CHILDREN OF BODOM will embark on a tour of South America andMexico in September. Support on the trek will come from AMORPHIS.
