I really worry sometimes about my learning style...at least I think it is my learning style....since it seems to involve lots of repetition! It I haven't worked with  something in awhile (like several months) then I have to try and remember all the little steps to the process...and I just have to tell you that the brain doesn't work like it used to.....nope it sure doesn't.... I subbed at the library last night....which I love doing....but it had been several months....and of course there are always a few changes in proceedures.... this password has changed.... and stuff has moved slightly.....and you get the idea....but I only made a $4 mistake on the cash register...not like a $300 one I made the first day I worked....that's improvement right! And I do love working with books...and magazines....and movies....it's all good.....and most of the little kids had already been in and out.....(summer reading program which involves massive amounts of books) so it was a nicely paced evening....and since it was only a four hour shift it went pretty quickly.....and we didn't have to fuss at anyone....and only one table of people left books.....of course they were in the reference room....big books left in stacks on the table....what is it with people that will not clean up their messes.....but there are many other kinds of messes I could have had to deal with and in relation to those...this was easy....and much cleaner!!! So in a couple of weeks I will do it again...and this time the memories will be fresher....and it will be a piece of cake....oh yeah...I forgot to mention that 1/2 hour after I got to work....I was left on my own while my co worker went to dinner...scary huh....

It's a Monday.....yep....it really is.....time to jump into work mode....or swim through coffee to work mode...almost there....yep....another cup of coffee ought to do it....yep.... swimming...swimming.....gotta keep the head above water..... It is going to be a busy week...so I really have to remember what is happening each day.....work this place one day....work that place one day.....hang with family....do a little cleaning....work first place again....pack for trip....it all has it's place in the week.....and hopefully get a little lap time in the pool....cause my muscles are talking to me big time after I did some lap and stretching time a couple of days ago....yep....they are all talking to me this morning....stretch me....stretch me..... So that is the game plan....take each day as it comes and remember what all I have to do that day....simple....yep..simple.... Think I need that third cup of coffee....stimulates the brain you know.....John Tesh's  "Intelligence for Living' said so....and I need all the intelligence I can get.......yep.....

It is way too early in my world for the sound of power tools....really it is... not that I don't appreciate what they are doing....cause I do....really I do....but that screw removal thingie...sounds like jack brakes.....at least to my ears....and I am only on my second cup of coffee....not enough caffeine to deal with this yet.... Originally, my daughter and her kids were going to come over and hang out in the pool....not happening when there are guys working at the house....even though one of those guys is her husband....because the other one isn't.....yea....we have issues with who sees us in our swimsuits..... When a bunch of people come over to the house and go swimming....I will not be one of them.....not happening......I love our pool.....love it.....and love spending time floating on it's surface....and I will float with my daughter, my sister, my husband....a very few select friends....and that is it.....yep ....yep...yep... So I am hoping for a cloudy day....then I won't feel as if I am missing pool time.....and it will be cooler for the guys....see....I'm thinking of them....working hard outside on this summer day.....yep....it's all about them....really.....

My week is just a tad off balance....usually I work on Monday and Thursday....and this week I don't work until Wednesday....then Thursday..... A change in routine is a good thing.....makes it feel like a mini vacation....even though it isn't! Change knocks us out of complacancy..........and I have to remind myself of my to do list for the day.... and I always have this feeling in the back of my head that I've forgotten something....somewhere.....on that little list.... but I've had my coffee.....all three cups...(used to be two ...now it is three....to start the day) and I'm ready ...to get ready for the first event of the day....taking my mom to an eye appointment.....and I think I need to get a move on.....cause this computer is a time eating thing....before you know it ....half the day is gone.....

I was in an egg mood this morning.....a little protein....so I hard boiled some eggs....and I am patiently waiting for them to cool down..... I love hard boiled eggs....I could boil a dozen every week and eat a couple of them each day.... sprinkled with a little salt and pepper.....or mixed with a little mayo and mustard.....or mixed into a caesar salad with some orecchiette pasta.....yummmm......just thinking about it makes me salivate....course that might have something to do with the fact that I wasn't really hungry yesterday evening and just snacked...might explain that....maybe...hmmm. But I am waiting for the cool down........just enough to be able to handle the eggs...warm hard boiled eggs....life is good....  I think it is a salt and pepper day........sometimes the simplest things taste the best....

Aw yes....the start of a new week....blue skies and sunshine....maybe some pool time....all kinds of opportunities.....and the sound of a cat nailing a bird....waiting to hear if the second cat will fight the first one for possession of the bird...wondering if I will walk outside and find a half eaten dead bird...ewww...yuck..yuck....so many possiblities.....

Okay, I just looked outside for the first time....and I'm on my third cup of coffee.....only to realize that the sky is blue.....we have had rain for the last couple of days....showers off and on....and I made an assumption...which I shouldn't have.....that it would be another rainy day.... Course the temp dropped yesterday and it actually felt chilly...for June at any rate! But with blue skies come all kinds of possiblities....outside...how wonderful is that....lounging....sunning...swimming.....course I have a baby shower to attend so that will take a chunk out of the afternoon....but still....sunshine.....it's a wonderful thing....a mood lifter.....I can do all things kinda feeling.....maybe eat a blueberry or two....I did see a couple of ripe ones the other day.....so I need to work on my Sunday School lesson a little.....wrap a shower gift....make something eggy for brunch....and enjoy the day.....works for me.....life is good....

Yesterday was quite the day.....woke up early....fell back asleep....my husband called first thing (around 8 actually) to say that a friend was in the hospital having her baby....three weeks early....Called to give my daughter the news and she asked if they could come and hang out....of course....I love it when they hang out...the sun was shining.....and pool was lovely.....so we swam and chilled and waited for news from my friend .....and shortly thereafter we got the call....baby is tiny (5.7lbs) but perfect....everyone doing well.....and shortly there after the mom herself called and we got the breakdown on the birth of GFG....same initals as his daddy....pretty cool.... My daughter and kids had to leave fairly early and so I had some pool time to myself....nothing better than floating on the pool ....dozing....floating....dozing...floating....getting sunburnt...and floating.... Oh yeah....I'm sunburnt....but that is okay....it's not too bad. When I had some computer time a little later....I found out that another friend had her baby also.....she was also three weeks early....how weird is that.....two babies ....born on the same day....both three weeks early....and everyone is fine....Then a friend came over and hung out for awhile....and we enjoyed the beautiful outdoors....but managed to stay in the shade..... For supper we had an awesome southwestern style salad....corn, black beans, tomatoes, shredded cheese, firecracker shrimp....ranch dressing....it was a perfect ending for the day......oh yes...I finished off the key lime pie (I made it the other day...and it was good!!). Sorry honey....I didn't share....but it was really good..... 

Maybe ....just maybe....we may have a sunny day today..... It is almost June and I have not been in the pool yet....not warm enough for me....the water is 78 which is great for the kids....they are like little fish swimming around in that water....but I need a hot day...with the sun beating down on me.....then ....maybe then....I can work my way into the pool....one step at a time....no jumping in for me.....it is a long slow process..... The kiddies spent the night last night.....and they wanted to stay up late....and I have to admit that they were still awake when my husband and I went to bed.....one was reading....one was watching a movie....and he was almost asleep.....so maybe they will sleep in a little this morning....it's part of the fun of an overnight....along with exploring with paw-paw.....fishing was deemed boring by the oldest.....she wanted to explore....so explore they did.....and when they wake up...I'm sure it will be all about breakfast....and then some more swimming.....they do love their swimming....so bring on the sunshine.....warm it up....cause we have things to do.....and the first one is up....and asking about breakfast.....yep...yep...yep...pancakes and sausage and bacon...cooked outside....life is good....

oops....I did it again....yep I did......walked out of a restaurant.....and didn't even notice that I had a nice little stream of chili down the front of my shirt.....aww yes.....made me feel real smart...yep....yep...yep.... I realized today that my life has degressed.....I used to be able to move things and it would all fit into place....not the case any more.....and food just keeps falling on my clothes....instead of making its way into my mouth like it should...... Not sure if it is simply a part of getting older.....or if I am just falling apart at a faster and faster rate....I know my knee and shoulder certainly would say that I am simply falling apart......not asking my family for their opinion....wouldn't want to hear it!! So I guess I just will need to pay a little more attention to everything that I do....cause it is me that all this stuff is happening to....can't blame anyone else....and I hate when people blame everyone else for all the stuff that is happening to them.....it is life....and it goes on.....
