Hi guys.

Well it almost here!  We are about to finally set free our 2nd EP The Point this Thu night, 9th July, when we officially launch it at The Supper Club in Darlinghurst.  It feels like this has been in the works for an eternity now seeing as the EP was finished in Feb this year!  It will be a huge relief, and really exciting too, to finally unleash this mongrel.

All the new EP tracks are now up on our profile so feel free to check them out and let us know what you think.   We'll also be playing a few brand spanking even newer tracks on the night which we are really looking forward to, and even throwing in a suprise cover - although that's a secret for now.  I think it will be the first cover we've ever played, so I hope it goes well, otherwise it might signal the start of our path to playing eternal back to back sets of covers on Fri nights at the Marly bar....

Supporting on the night will be Sean Carey and Rapids.  Doors open at 8:00, $10 cover, and bar food menu available.  Hope to see you there!

Hi guys...

Just letting you know that the track Fire Exit which recently got voted as our new single is now available as a free download!  Just follow the link
here.

Also we have just finalised the supports for our EP launch on July 9.  Sean Carey from Thristy Merc fame will be performing a great set of his solo material and Sydney lads Rapids will be serving up a taste of their delicious, heartfelt sounds - well worth checking out!

Other than that we are currently getting prepped for the upcoming launch gig as well as going through the rather self-confronting routine of trying to pimp our new EP to the powers that be, the powers that were, and to the people direct, via the all consuming, out-of-control information highway that we all are becoming helplessly addicted to.  But you just gotta jump on the train...

If you want to check out the full EP The Point is now available through
iTunes.

Until next time!

Hi guys,

OK we can now announce that Fire Exit has been chosen as our new single - and by quite a margin too.

Thanks a lot to everyone that took the time out to vote - it is much appreciated.

Simon Wright is the winner of our competition so we will be in touch soon to sort out the details.

Fire Exit is now up on our profile, so check it out, and it will be available shortly as a free download, so stay tuned here for more info.

Dom

PS - Don't forget to put our launch in your diaries: July 9, The Supper Club, Oxford Street, Sydney.

Hi guys!

I know it's been pretty quiet here in myspace blog-land lately, but for the last few months we have been busy scurrying around like idiots putting the finishing touches on our new EP (which is now done!) as well as beginning planning and preparations for the EP release and launch gig in July.

But we need your help....

We can't decide on a single!  To do us a huge favour and help us resolve this dilemma just go to the following link to check out the 5 new EP tracks and choose your fav -

www.fuzu.com.au/single

We're also running a little comp that you can enter while you're there, if you so wish.   Just follow the link for all the deets.

The song chosen as the winner will be the song that we run with as the single, so chooese wisely! It will be taken to radio and also offered as a free download in the lead up to the launch gig.

Thanks a lot for your help, and stay tuned for more launch info soon....

Hi guys...

I just want to say thanks to all who ventured out last night to see us play at the Annandale and show their support.  People that support local bands by coming to live shows make this whole thing possible.

We had a great time despite multiple gutiar failures, a shockingly bad sound set up (we were playing on the makeshift "Stage 2", not the main 'Dale stage) and the ever-present risk of electrocution due to the rather interesting power set-up.  The whole stage was covered in a terrific patchwork of power boards patched into more power boards, in turn patched into dubious-looking double adaptors via fried extension chords, then looping over and somehow back again.  We were half prepared for the whole stage to explode, sending our charred carcasses flying out over the audience in the ultimate gesture of rock n’ roll….

It was definatley our funniest and most eventfull show to date, and it could have easily been the worst we've ever palyed or the best we've ever played - the thing is we'll never know which.  The one thing we do know was that it was a heap of fun, so thanks again to everyone that turned up.

Till next time,

Dom (and the merry gentlemen of Fuzu)

Hope everyone had a great chrissy break and suitably debaucherous new years eve!!!

The first Fuzu show for 2009 has been announced!  After brushing off the inevitable cob webs this week we will be playing at the Hopetoun Hotel on Wed 14th Jan.  Erase Release and Jai Honeybrook will be supporting so it's shaping up to be a great night.  Doors open at 8:00 and door charge will be $8.  We will be playing some new tracks that are due for release very soon off our upcoming EP, but more on that later...

And, some bonus news:  We will also be playing a support set at the annual Non-Zero FBi fundraiser night this Thu 8th Jan!!  We're on at 9:30, and after that the real event kicks off.  Musicians from many great Sydney bands will be coming together to re-create songs by seminal American band Big Star.  Each song will feature a different combination of players, so it's bound to be lots of fun - mix and match style.  And, all money raised goes to FBi, so it's definatley a worthy cause.

Hope to see you there!

P.S. There are more Fuzu dates coming up so stay tuned for news...

Hey - just a quick note on what's going on, you know, with the whole credit crunch crisis and all that.....

Sean our residient bass man is off to Germany for 5 weeks from the start of Nov to investigate the ramifications of the global credit squeeze (and also partly to go on holidays with his girl...), so hence no action on the live front for Fuzu at the moment.

We're looking at a possible return in Dec, although most venues are pretty booked out (again, it's that sub prime thing...), so it's looking like this may be it for us for 2008 in terms of live shows - unless we score a slot from a cancellation somewhere.

BUT.... it's all happeneing at the moment in the studio with tracking for a new EP set for release in early 2009.  We have just completed tracking the majority of parts at GPHQ studios and so far we are really happy with the results. Engineer Sean Carey has pulled some huge sounds :-)  We've still got vocals and a couple of guitar parts to go, and should have those knocked over this weekend.  Then it's onto mixing, followed by mastering early next year, and hopefully a single release in Feb 09.

So until then - stay safe, stay true, say no to hedge funds and yes to liquidity, and rest assured with the knowledge that regardless of the goverment's latest bank deposit guarantee, by far the safest place to stash your cash is the expansive un-used arse real estate of your favorite skinny jeans that usually finds itself somewhere down by the backs of your knees.

Hi all...

As we speak we are preparing for tracking some new songs at gigpiglet studios on Sun & Mon.   We are excited to be working at such a great studio with Sean Carey as engineer.  It's going to be tight but we're hoping to lay most of the parts down live, which will hopefully result in some of that elusive "live energy" seeping its way through the microphones before being unceremoniously squished into the proverbial 1s and 0s.  Either that or it will sound like shit...

We're aiming to record 5 tracks - 4 new ones we've been playing live recently and one extra new one that is yet to see the light of day outside a rehearsal room (because let's face it - daylight is scarce when it comes to rehearsal rooms).  Song list:

Fire Exit, Morning, From Where You've Gone, The Point and Where I Begin (the extra newie).

With some luck we'll have some brand new shiny songs all ready by the end of the year, with a single release to follow... although now I'm getting a bit ahead of myself.  First things first.....
