Drag, spent the last two days at the announced time to try and buy Rockies tickets on line.  I kept clicking in over and over and just kept getting blank pages, server not responding etc...  It seems hardly fair that the die hard local Rockies fans didn't have first crack at tickets.  Instead, it was opened up to the whole world online to buy tickets.  Many people probably looking to resell for some exorbanent price on ebay or something.  What a fiasco.  Many of my friends here in the local area were also immensly frustrated with this unfair way to sell tickets.

Spring in Zermatt- Music and Skiing

Zermatt is definelty know for it's skiing, but I am just learning that they have great music acts there by night....with lots to choose from.  People come from all over the world to ski under the Matterhorn at this amazing car- free resort.  As part of my spring European tour I will have the opportunity to ski by day and play music by night for 7 days and nights.  This will be my first trip there. I'm a bit nervous and very much looking forward to it at the same time.  What can anybody tell me about the quality of the skiing there?

I just attended The 2007 Song School and Rocky Mountain Folks Festival.  ..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Song School was once again very inspiring and full of wonderful fellow singer-songwriters honing their craft and feeling a sense of community amongst peers.  The Festival was awesome, as always.  There were so many great performers, but my favorites this time were:  Ellis, http://www.ellis-music.com/ , Cheryl Wheeler, http://www.cherylwheeler.com/  and Arthur Lee Land, http://arthurleeland.com/  .  I had a spontaneous and most creative time co-writing a song with singer songwriters, Cheryl Branz, Steve Park and Jodie O, Callahan, called Six Silver Bullets, inspired by Cheryl using the river next to the campground as "natures cooler" for libations….and what might happen with all those people floating by, tubing.  Hmmmm….  We wrote the song over two days and then performed it as a full band on stage the last night of Song School.  Very fun.  I have posted photos from Song School http://www.jenncleary.com/photos.html

My little blues tune, Little Yellow Sports Car was requested for licensing today for the nationwide home for 4-cylinder Stock Car Racing. Purestock.tv is an internet docu-ality show that will be spread across all video sharing sites in addition to the show's website. The show is currently shown every-other week and will be shot and edited throughout the 2007 racing season. Pure Stock focuses on the ups and downs, the struggles, and the drama of the newest form of racing in the country. 4-Cylinder racing is becoming the hottest racing at every track in America and Pure Stock is the only place for it.  I had never heard of this kind of racing before.  Little Yellow sports Car should be a great fit for their show!

Clint Hurdle called today to say he had "broken out" the Breakin Loose CD again and has been playing it in the clubhouse for 2 straight days.  He is a big supporter of Colorado musicians.  He is also currently a big fan of Angie Stevens and Mojomama, among many others.  Go Rockies...Break It Loose!

..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Here is a nice review that recently came in from England, by Robert Mills of Maverick.com

This debut may not be original but it showcases a rare talent that puts Jenn Cleary at the top of her game.  There seems to be too many artists like Jenn Cleary.  It's not an insult to suggest that BREAKIN' LOOSE will not secure Jenn Cleary's fame and fortune, it is far too down to earth and honest for that, but for those who like their music laced with reality then it's a pure joy.  On the evidence of BREAKIN" LOOSE, Cleary is the epitome of a "working" musician.

Peace In Our World smolders along, the heat generated by a combination of Cleary's smoking vocals and the stunning keyboards of Ricardo Pena.  BREAKIN' LOOSE offers a nice contrast between ballads like Life Starts Over Again and the rockers championed by I Ain't Got Time and Little Yellow Sports Car, but whichever it is, Jenn Cleary pours her heart and soul into the music and what more can you ask.

BREAKIN LOOSE' may not be radically different or particularly innovative but it puts Jenn Cleary amongst the top of the crop of female American singers.

Neil Young's website, Living With War, picked up Peace In Our World off of the Breakin' Loose album to play on his website.  It is encouraging to see that the message of peace is being srongly promoted in such hard times.  Neil Young is using his personal influence in a positive way and I really appreciate his efforts.  He has selected over 1500 songs on his website, at this point, in an effort to promote awareness of peoples views in this time of war.  Thanks Neil!

The band had a great time performing live on the radio here in Boulder on the KGNU Kabaret.  KGNU is a great Colorado station that loves to support its local music.  They also do a nice job mixing on the spot and then offering the live show as a podcast for people to download after that: http://www.kgnu.org/cgi-bin/programinfo.py?time=1170122400  Very fun.  Thanks, KGNU!
