Hello all, After a long hiatus I have decided to give this Dear Dead City thing another try. I was approached by my friend Crystal about doing the score for a short animated film that she is currently working on and I felt that this would be the perfect time to bring things back up to speed. Look for new tracks and reworks of some old material. I am also entered into the Columbia College Expose yourself competition. Please check it out and support. Facebook: Facebook groupwarm regards, John DDC

Dear Dead City will be heading into Handwritten Recording here in Chicago to record a cover song for an upcoming covers album that Handwitten will be releasing. We are asking all of YOU out there in cyberspace to send us suggestions as to what song we should record for the album.
If you have a suggestion please send us a message or leave us a comment. The person whose song we end up recording will have a copy of the record shipped to them free of charge and there will be all kinds of free DDC goodies thrown in for good measure.
We will be going into the studio within the next few weeks so get those suggestions in quick folks.
I hope everyone's weeks are shaping up to be great. My week last week was way way too hectic but got to keep on keepin' on
Peace and love

Dig,
The new issue of Skope Magazine, a mag out of Boston that has national distribution through Barnes & Noble, has a big huge ad for the DDC in the current issue and in upcoming issues there will be a review of "of the sunsets, of the seas" and a feature article as well coming up. It's a great rag and it's run by some very nice people. You can check out their website
http://www.skopemagazine.com
In other news Sonichouse Publishing has picked up "another night in your hometown", "nooneisinvisible (for Jean Marc)" and "A Grand River Lullaby (there's an angel left) and will be pitching them to TV and Movies so hopefully everyone will soon be hearing the smooth sounds of the DDC at your local mulit-plex or on the boobtube in your very own home.
The tours are starting to shape up. If you would like to see the DDC and Glynis come to your hometown shoot us an email or get in contact with Jean at Rogue Panda Booking at roguepandarecords@hotmail.com
Johnny T will be heading out at the end of June for some solo dates with good friend Adam Stahlberg and Box. It should be fun. Those dates will be up soon but it's gonna be some midwest maddness to be sure.
Get some sleep everybody. It feels like the summer's here. I for one am very excited.
peace and love

Current mood: hopeful
After careful diliberation aided by red wine and a long walk through the Chicago night I have come to the realization that life could be a hell of a lot worse. Please disregard the previous blog entry. Just found out that an old aquatience finially OD'd (don't use needles kids) it was only a matter of time sad to say. Other friends are going through situations that I can't even pretend to relate to. So fuck it. The whole world's gone stark raving mad and I think we are all just along for the ride.
To answer a question posed to me as to why I feel the continual need to move and be mobile and run from problems (real or imaginary). I don't know. Crossing state lines never helped me find a peace of mind. So we'll all just keep on keepin' on till' we do I guess.
As Kerouac said "the only people for me are the mad ones..."
So go tell your mom you love her. Give a friend a hug. and be thankful for what you have and all the problems that you've avoided thus far.

Im only 21 fucking years old and I already feel like I understand what Jerry was singing about. The last week of my life has been one of the most surreal things I've ever gone through. And I'm sure it's not over yet.
If it's ever over.
I don't think it will ever be over
I think it's about time for me to keep on ramblin' west. Cause far enough far enough wasen't far enough
